Giddy Up!

Hi all! I'm back from living my wild homosexual lifestyle which consisted of wrapping Christmas presents, singing in the choir on Christmas Eve and dining with my family and my new family (the in-laws) on Christmas Day. Yep, it was such a homosexual experience, I mean I'm sure no heterosexual ever had to decide which side of the family to dine with first (We homosexuals are such nuts!!!)

At the gym today I happened to be switching channels and caught a little bit of Fox News' coverage of Brokeback Mountain. Apparently this film is GAY PROPAGANDA, at least that's what the panelist said on Fox News. Gay Propaganda, yeah, that's what I would call it. It's a movie of such high homosexual values with such big Gay themes. The panelist was David Kupelian who wrote the book "The Marketing of Evil" and writes for the World Nut..er I mean Net Daily.

It seems that the Religious Right was just going to let Brokeback Mountain slide by without comment, that is until it started getting critical acclaim. Now they can't just sit idly by and NOT mention it. They even equate it to marketing cigarettes! Even Ms. Massresistance had to jump into the pool to condemn the movie and again scream "Gay Propaganda". (and for some reason they again bring up Adult-child sex which is no where in the movie but these guys are obsessed!)

These people are scared, very scared because if the heartland sees that its' own are actually gay they might not be so quick to endorse discrimination against these folks. The New York Times had a great article on actual gay cowboys. My favorite line from the piece is:
Like Ennis Del Mar and Jack Twist in the film, Clark dated women for a time, bowing to the pressure to be "normal" although, unlike them, he never married and never led a double life. There's a joke out here about how one goes about finding a gay man on the frontier. The punch line is deadpan: "Look for the wife and kids."
These people just don't want to hear that gay people exist but they do and more and more are coming out each day. Good for them. If these guys (in the movie) would have be able to live their life no one would have gotten hurt, they wouldn't have had wives or children who felt alienated which is the WND writer's biggest point, that we should have seen the movie through the wives' eyes. He obviously didn't get that when you live a lie everyone suffers.

Bible Teachings

In the Book of Matthew it says "don't let your left hand know what your right hand does" and apparently the Catholic Church in Boston is taking that literally, AGAIN, but in the wrong way.

Bay Windows, that (say it with me) homosexual newspaper, reported yesterday about a priest at Holy Trinity Church in Boston who was funneling over $175,000 of the church's money to another parish in secret, without the parish or the archdiocese knowing. The Globe decided to publish a story about it today. The archdiocese claims it was an "error" on Rev. Hugh O'Regan part nevermind that he did this in secret without anyone's knowledge.

The biggest difference in the two stories is that Bay Windows points out the dishonesty of the Boston Catholic Church. They remind us of the firing of Rev. Walter Cuenin, who, contrary to popular belief, never marched in a Gay Pride parade but did welcome gay and lesbian parishioners at his church. Notes Bay Windows:

Compare that with what Donilon had to say about the Rev. Walter Cuenin after it was revealed that the finance council at Cuenin's church, Our Lady Help of Christians in Newton, had paid him a stipend and leased a car for him without Archdiocese approval. "Seventy-five thousand dollars is a lot of money, and we cannot ignore the financial piece of this," he told the Boston Globe. "We cannot allow one pastor to operate under a separate set of guidelines or rules."

Hmmm. Cuenin operated within the guidelines set by his church's finance council. O'Regan seems to have violated Catholic Canon Law by not meeting with the Holy Trinity Finance Council and transferring funds between churches. Cuenin's transgressions, such as they are, totaled $75,000 over a period of 12 years, which Cuenin agreed to pay back. As a result of O'Regan's "error," St. James the Greater had to obtain an emergency loan of $176,360 on Dec. 16 to cover what it owed Holy Trinity.

Once again we see how the church operates. One man received a stipend from the parish, with the parish's approval and a car, all in the open mind you, the archdiocese had even audited the books at Father Cuenin's parish for years and never said anything before. Yet the other priest who was doing things in secret wasn't even reprimanded by the Bishop.

Was it a coincidence that Father Cuenin was one of the 50 priests who signed the letter asking for Cardinal Law's resignation after the whole sexual abuse scandal was uncovered? I wonder what's happened to the other 49 priests who spoke out to protect the children since it appears that the church still only protects those that keeps its secrets. But then again, there are gay families to demonize and destroy, we have priorities people!

Correction: It was the South End News that actually broke the story, Bay Windows wrote an editorial on the subject, please read the comment section for more info. (thanks Susan!)

You're In!

Many people have written to me how artistically challenged the Article 8/Massresistance group is, however, the newest beats it all. It you've ever been on their site at Article 8 or Parents Right's Coalition you know how cluttered (and out of date) it is. But you've got to take a look at their newest addition. It's a graphic of what I think is supposed to be a thermometer. You've seem them before by other organization to record the donations that "pour" in. As the money rises so does the level in the thermometer.

Most normal people use red to indicate the level of funds coming in but not Article 8. Always one to be on far right of anything they use yellow. To paraphrase Massresistance: What does that make you think about, a yellow substance rising in tube?

On a side note, it seems that Brian Camenker is soliciting funds for Article 8 and Massresistance by allowing people to make a tax free donation through an organization called "Parents Education Foundation, Inc" where he's the President, Treasurer, Clerk and one of the directors (Wow, he can do it all just like Barbra Streisand!). The funny thing is that tax exempt nonprofit corporations are not allowed to lobby the legislatures, state or federal on any matter OR funnel donations to organizations who do lobby.

Know Thy Neighbor

The KnowThyNeighbor website is now listing all the people who signed the anti-gay marriage amendment petition. You can search by name, address, city or zip code. Not surprising is that Article 8's own Brian Camenker is on the list. I guess even he doesn't believe that the Massachusetts Supreme Court judges will ever be removed so he's jumping on this bandwagon. It's quite interesting to check out the list and see who's on it, or not on it.

Cheers Elton & David!

Elton John and David Furnish were one of many of the hundreds of same sex couples that received legalized civil unions in Great Britain yesterday. They tied the knot in the same hall that Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles wed in April. They sealed their union with a kiss, how romantic! Even though it's not a "marriage" like same sex couples can get in Massachusetts, these couples will be able to receive all the federal benefits of married unlike Massachusetts couples.
Prime Minister Tony Blair speaking to reporters at a news conference, congratulated the couple for exercising their newfound legal right.
Can you imagine, the head of a civilized country congratulates a same sex couple for making a lifetime commitment together, surely the world is going to end!

The few who attended included John's mother, Sheila, and stepfather Fred, and Furnish's parents, Gladys and Jack.

The ceremony, which took less than an hour, was conducted by registrar Clair Williams, who also presided over the union between Charles and Camilla.

One of the guests, art dealer Jay Jopling, described the union as being "like any other couple getting married."

The couple emerged to a shower of rice and the click of cameras, walking arm in arm to face the paparazzi. John lifted his hand to show off a whopping diamond ring.

Love is such a bad bad thing isn't it?

Lock Up Your Spouses!

A favorite activist of Massresistance and Article 8 is Stephen Bennett of the Stephen Bennett Ministries (catchy huh!). He and his wife (he is supposedly a "former" ex-gay now married to Irene) co-host a Christian talk radio show "Straight Talk Radio", you really gotta listen to some of their programs. Anyway, Stephen commented on the critically acclaimed new movie "Brokeback Mountain":
"This movie sends a very dangerous message to America's youth - and especially married couples with a struggling spouse. I just spoke with a married man on the telephone who is contemplating leaving his wife and children. He's says he's gay - and Brokeback Mountain has influenced his decision. I spent a lot of time with this man telling him it's not what they're making it out to be. I know - I was there for 11 years." Stephen continued, "Believe me, we can sadly expect to see a lot more men like former Governor Jim McGreevy of New Jersey not only resigning from their jobs, but from their wives, children and families."
This is so strange, something must be going around because I was talking to this woman, who saw this movie about a huge gorilla. She is now contemplating leaving her family for the nearest zoo. She never thought that she would leave her husband and kids but after seeing that one movie, well those 2-something hours completely changed her life. She never thought she could fall in love with a big ape, but then again her husband is kinda hairy. Anyway, I agree with Stephen, these movies send a VERY dangerous message. Hat tip to ExGay Watch for following this gripping story.

Ford: Flip-On-Reality-Daily?

Well, first we had the American Family Association boycotting Ford in May 2005, right after their victory (9 years and nothing changed) against Disney:
"Inform them you will not be buying a Ford product until they stop their promotion of the homosexual movement and homosexual marriage," Wildmon says in the message to AFA supporters. If the dealer wants more information, he suggests individuals refer the dealer to the website for the boycott.
Then the American Family Association claimed victory again with their boycott of Ford. They said that Ford agreed to a "secret" agreement with them and Ford would no longer advertise in the gay press, however, Ford said it was just part of its advertising policy and since they were losing money it was something they would have done anyway and there was no secret agreement.

Then the Gay community rallied against Ford for giving into the extreme homophobia from the Right and Ford reversed its decision and will now once again market to the gay community so the American Family Association is once again going to boycott Ford again.

Confused? In a nut shell (pun intended), the Religious Right tried to muscle their way to get a company to discriminate against a minority group. Once again Truth, Justice and the American Way prevailed.
“All we wanted was for Ford to refrain from choosing sides in the cultural war, and supporting groups which promote same-sex marriage is not remaining neutral,” Wildmon stated.
Right.......they only wanted them to not choose sides, i.e., Do not donate to gay causes, do not advertise in the gay press, imagine they don't exist. That sounds neutral. They wanted Ford to be neutral that's why the AFA published the press releases and touted their strength against the gay community.

Happy HOLIGAYS!

With Jerry Falwell’s recent assault on "Happy Holidays" it got me thinking. These are the same things these white Religious Right people think about the country; everyone is white, Christian, married to a wife (who stays at home of course, a la “Father Knows Best”) and has two children: a boy & a girl. They refuse to see anything else.

It seems like it's a big surprise that:
  • Everyone is NOT Christian,
  • Everyone is NOT to married to a woman (or in Newt Gingrich’s case 3 women)
  • Everyone is NOT white
  • In today’s economy both spouses have to work (man/woman, man/man, and woman/woman) or
  • you're scraping by raising a family on one income and have no spouse.
  • Lots of couples, both gay and straight are choosing whether to have children or not.

For myself, I celebrate Christmas, I have NO problem with people wishing me a “Happy Holidays”, they don’t know me from Adam so why should they assume I celebrate Christmas (Isn't this profiling?) Just like why should they assume I’m straight, YOU CAN’T! Can you imagine what Jerry Falwell would say if you assumed he was, A GAY?. I do wear a wedding band and I'm legally married, but I have a husband (and I will still be married even if they pass this discriminatory amendment in Massachusetts).

This is NOT a cookie cutter world, if we were all alike how boring would that be? Actually, it’s bone-chilling to think about it, horrifying even!

A Picture of Love

I haven't posted about Massresistance/Article 8 in awhile because their posts have just gotten so weird and strange that commenting on them would give them some tiny piece of credibility (Christian Polygamy? Window Models?). However, I felt I had to comment on today's post. You see, once again, Ms. Massresistance is trying to "shame" a family featured in the GLOBE.

She only succeeds in showing everyone how wonderful this couple are. She posts about the joy that one family is feeling for their first Christmas with their new child. This is what she calls abnormal, a man talking about how they (the couple) are staying home (and not visiting relatives) because they are taking their daughter's comfort into consideration, abnormal?

As always, it wouldn't be a Massresistance post without her focusing on sex:
From the Globe Sunday Magazine (Dec. 11), in their series called "COUPLING" ...(Now what vision does that conjure up, speaking of homosexual men?) ... "Home Alone: Three's company when a new family settles in for a quiet holiday":
Well maybe I'm the odd one but an article about Coupling in the Globe Magazine brings to mind a loving couple (yes, it IS about love). I guess for some people, all they focus on is sex, (you should really see a therapist for that) I see two wonderful men who adopted an unwanted child, I guess you could call them pro-life.

Of Mice and Men

Voice of the Faithful held a moving prayerful candlelight vigil at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross tonight. We had about 35 people standing in the bitter cold to support "Priests of Integrity" in the Catholic church. Voice of the Faithful decided to hold this to demonstrate our conviction that a vocation to the priesthood is not and should not be restricted by one’s sexuality.

They and I believe that excluding homosexuals from the priesthood is not a solution to the clergy sexual abuse crisis. This was highlighted at the vigil by a woman who spoke about her abuse at the hands of Catholic priest, a heterosexual Catholic priest. She talked about how the Church abused her again by not acknowledging the abuse she endured.

It just shows once again how the Church has failed women. It is bad enough that the church fails to allow women to participate in the rituals of the church, but now the Church has continued to shun those women who were sexually abused by pedophile priests. This whole "gay priest" ban does nothing to address the child sexual abuse committed by the priests nor the enabling the Bishops did to protect these sick priests. It's disgusting!

I wrote a little bit about how the Church is scapegoating gay men and still not addressing its problems in its ranks in September. The good news is that there are still good priests out there, unfortunately, the hierarchy of the Church punishes those that speak out against the abuse.

Anti-Gay Activists and Internet Polls

Yesterday the Mass "Family" Institute, an anti-gay activist organization submitted their signatures to the State to put discrimination into the constitution. Apparently they submitted 170,000 to the clerks who certified 147,000 some odd signatures, they only have to have 66,000 (a feat that's pretty easy to accomplish since there are over 6,416,505 people in Mass)

The Boston Globe reported in its "breaking news" section of its online edition about the signatures. The Globe online also included a link to an "unscientific internet poll" on same sex marriage. You would expect that the MFI would be bathing in the glory of their 147,000 signatures, but no. The MFI sent out an email update to its subscribers to log on and vote YES in the poll. How pathetic. Do you think their afraid? I guess they don't feel secure enough with the way they got the signatures so they have to manipulate the online poll too. A last look the poll shows the NO vote was still leading.

Trustworthy? Loyal?

The following letter was written by the National Program Director of the Boy Scouts America:

Corporate Legal Times

September, 2004

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR; Pg. 10

Boy Scout Pride

Dear Editor:

Bruce Collins is mistaken when he calls Boy Scouts a "fundamentally different" organization from the one he joined 40 years ago. ["An Eagle Scout Takes Issue With Group's Politics" July, p. 7]. Boy Scouts is the same organization with the same values and goals. What is fundamentally different, however, is our times.

Some intolerant elements in our society want to force scouting to abandon its values and to become fundamentally different. They want scouting to forego its constitutional rights, affirmed in 2000 by the Supreme Court in BSA v. Dale, and adopt fundamentally different values from the ones that helped shape the character of Mr. Collins and 106 million other young men over the past 94 years.

It bothers Mr. Collins that scouting is defending itself, even though he acknowledged that it has been "dragged into" the "culture war." He says the tone of our legal-issues web site, bsalegal.org, is defensive. The site does seek to defend our values and to inform the public about the three-decade-long legal assault on scouting. That we need a legal-issues web site is testament to the fact that our constitutional rights are under attack.

Clearly, Mr. Collins longs for a time when the Boy Scout organization could give its undivided attention to the "good stuff" of Scouting: "camping and life skills ..." So do we. Mr. Collins would do well to communicate his displeasure to those directing their discriminatory assault against his beloved Boy Scouts -- the ACLU.

Douglas S. Smith Jr.

National Director of Program

Boy Scouts of America

He was responding to charges that the Boy Scouts discriminates against gay men in Scouting. The irony of the situation is that this man, Douglas S. Smith, Jr. National Director of Program for Boy Scout America pleaded guilty to child pornography. He was sentenced yesterday to 8 years in jail. The same man who only last year was defending the "values" of Scouting is into child pornography.

Another vocal anti-gay critic found guilty. (Hat tip to Ian)

Funny Ha Ha

This just up from the World O' Crap Blog. It seems they've been doing a little research on our friends over at Article 8 and Massresistance. They confirm a couple of things I've suspected all along:

The post goes into detail everything that Article 8 has been spreading to the right wing media. They also do their own analysis on the details that Article 8 changes in each press release. They are quite funny too!

Don We Now Our Gay Apparel

This season's movies are turning out to be just GAY! There are numerous GLBT themed movies coming to a theatre near you. NPR reported on this in November and every week until Christmas keeping turning out gay Gay GAY films. Here's a few which are supposed to be fabulous:

It's going to be a gay ole' time at the movies this Christmas!

*Yawn*

Massresistance: The Radio Show was another sleeper. For all their touting that "They report the news you don't hear anywhere else" we've heard it all before. They didn't talk about anything new, they even brought up the "Little Black Book" again which happened in April (Is it Christmas already?)

Brian Camenker also seems to be turning to the Religious Right (could it be that he's not making enough money from his usual suspects?). Throughout the program, Camenker used "God Bless" which he has refrained from using in the other 5 outings of the program. My guess is that he was catering to the Catholics who might happen to be listening since his guests were C. J. Doyle of the Catholic Action League and the head of Operation Rescue. However, my husband still believes we are the only ones "doing God's work" by actually listening to the whole program.

I did learn one thing from the program today. Homosexual activists are quite powerful. To hear them talk, we are in charge of everything and everyone. Now if we were that powerful don't you think we would have outlawed polyester pantsuits a long time ago?

I'm done, I have to get to working on my homosexual agenda right after my Christmas cards are written out.

Around the World with 80 Gays (give or take a few million)

South Africa's High Court Approves Gay Marriage:

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa - South Africa's highest court ruled Thursday it is unconstitutional to bar gay marriage, paving the way for this country to become the first in Africa to legalize homosexual unions.
Another country recognizes equality! With all the recognition of same sex partnerships around the world it is becoming a no-brainer, All people are created equal.

You can't hide the fact that same sex couples are in committed monogamous relationships just like their heterosexual counterparts. Only now these committed relationships are becoming recognized by the government. No amount of putting gay weddings in quote's is going deny that these relationships exist and are happening. They will continue to happen forever too. Even if Massachusetts passes this hateful anti-gay amendment (and there are serious doubts it will) it is not going to stop gay couples from tying the knot. It is happening in Canada, Spain, Netherlands and coming soon to Great Britain and now, South Africa.

Oh, on a side note or should I say left coast America note, America Blog is reporting:
Arnold hires as his chief of staff a top Gray Davis aide who's an openly-lesbian gay-married woman.

and
Arnold's wife, first lady Maria Shriver, just picked a new chief of staff too. He's former top Gray Davis aide Daniel Zingale, who is also openly-gay and very-coupled with kid(s?).
