We are watching the Hate groups in Massachusetts, namely the Massresistance "blog" and Article8.org. MassResistance is listed as a Hate Group by The Southern Poverty Law Center. While MassResistance is mainly a fringe group, their hate speech should not go unnoticed. Unlike them, we are not afraid of opposing viewpoints, please feel free to comment.Boston Budhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03694800029213245507noreply@blogger.comBlogger775125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13062504.post-11169516341775798922015-06-10T13:06:00.000-03:002015-06-10T13:07:20.763-03:001961 Documentary on Homosexuality

The first known documentary about Homosexuality has been found. It was televised on Sept. 11, 1961. You can find the documentary here:

Introduced by KQED's General Manager James Day, The Rejected was the first ever U.S. televised documentary about homosexuality, broadcast on September 11th 1961. Originally titled 'The Gay Ones', The Rejected had a budget of $100 and was filmed mostly in the KQED studio. Several sources - including co-producer Irving Saraf - refer to at least one scene being shot on location at the Black Cat Bar in San Francisco (710 Montgomery Street). However, this edit of the film does not appear to feature images of the bar. In his 'Chronological History of KQED: 40th Anniversary Edition', Jay Yamada quotes a 'Focus' article from Oct. 1979: "Jim Day reported to the board that KQED had completed videotape production of a 90 minute documentary on homosexuality in San Francisco, a program entitled 'The Rejected'." The video edit preserved by the Library of Congress is only 60 minutes long.

As you may have already heard, the Duggar family — stars of the hit TV Show 19 Kids and Counting — have come under attack from bullying activists and radicals simply because of the Duggars' strong pro-family witness both on and off their show. I ask you to take a moment today to join me in showing your support for the Duggars.

We need to send a message to let them know that we, the advocates of traditional marriage and family, appreciate their strong moral voice in the public square. They are an example of how strong marriages and families lie at the foundation of a healthy society. We need more celebrities like them, not fewer!

Our country needs a healthier public square where people are heard respectfully, and not merely shouted down by those who disagree. This moment that the Duggars are facing is a test case for what kind of society we want: one where the values of tolerance and respect are truly practiced, or one where only those on the politically-correct side of the conversation get to be heard.

No, it's not from last week or two weeks ago but a year ago. Strangely, NOM has been silent during the revelation that Josh Duggar, who worked for the Family Research Council, molested his younger sisters and a family friend. Unbelievable.

It's actually quite amusing to read about MassResistance's involvement in difference campaigns because they always claim: "We tell them things they obviously never heard before and really opened their eyes!" Take a gander at their latest attempt:

Help from MassResistance

Over the past few months MassResistance has been working with a number of Irish pro-marriage activists. Most recently, we have been corresponding with pastor Derry O’Sullivan in Dublin who has been working with several church groups. Late last night he sent us some descriptions of what’s been happening on the ground over in Ireland. We asked him for a report, which we quote from below.

One of the primary tools from MassResistance for Irish voters has been our video, “What gay marriage did to Massachusetts” – which has been used by pro-marriage activists from Australia and Hong Kong to Finland and Africa.

Among other things, nearly 55,000 postcards urging people to watch the MassResistance video have been distributed across the country. (It’s making an impression -- we’ve gotten angry emails from homosexual activists!)

We're so glad when we hear that MassResistance is getting involved in some equality movement somewhere because we know that once people hear the kooky crazy ramblings from them it's all over and we win.

Jeff Jacoby, the Boston Globe's leading <strike>conservative right wing wacko</strike> homophobe wrote an article on the so-called "March for Marriage" in Washington DC last week:

Don’t he and his supporters know that they’re on the Wrong Side of History?

First off, there probably wasn't even a thousand people at the rally. Secondly, to answer his question: No, they don't know that they're on the wrong side of History. This was evident when Mike Huckabee was quoting Dr. Martin Luther King at the rally which is ironic since Huckabee is from Arkansas not to mention that Huckabee doesn't even know American civics.

I watched the so-called "March for Marriage" which was anything but. It was a rally against gay people getting married. There was no talk about ending divorce or strengthening marriages, no, it was all gay all day or rather anti-gay, all day. They even had role models like the Cardinal from San Francisco who was convicted of a DUI to speak but has never lead a rally against the abuse of children by the Catholic Church.

Many times during the program Brian Brown, the leader of the National Organization for Marriage, tried to get the small crowd to chant and he even tried to come up with chants for them, but to no avail. It reminded me of the crowds at the Massachusetts Constitutional Conventions, immigrants who were promised a meal at MacDonald's just for holding a sign. I know this because my husband and I overheard the anti-gay side while we were at the convention.

I'm still wondering which traditional marriage Jeff Jacoby is advocating for: The one where one man had many wives or the one in which the wife became the property of her husband when he bought her from her family? Let's pick and chose which part of the Bible we want to obey this week.
Most of the arguments haven't changed with the exception of the heavy handed religious tilt nowadays by most anti-gay groups.

The above screenshot is of Elaine Noble, a professor at Emerson College on "The Advocates". She was an out lesbian on TV which was unheard of in those days. She makes possibly the only argument about how gay marriage would change the instituion of marriage when she is asked the question about who will be the head of the household in a homosexual union:
Two! Two...Two Hate Groups in OneWell, it was bound to happen, funds are drying up, lawsuits are flying, leather chaps are getting expensive... so Prono Pete, AKA Peter LaBarbara from the Illinois Family Council, then Americans for Truth about Homosexuality and Scott Lively, founder of various west coast anti-gay groups (and notorious for working with third world countries on anti-gay legislation) have combined to become a SUPER GAY, oops...I mean SUPER ANTI-GAY group. This time, this group will encompass the WORLD (I suspect the money in the US is drying up and they need new lemmings, er, contributors to fill their coffers). I guess Scott Lively, who moved to Springfield Mass and opened up a "Christian" coffeehouse has more time on his hands since he announced he was running for Governor of Massachusetts (cue laughter). The press release states:

A press conference will be held to announce the formation of a new organization, the Coalition for Family Values, whose purpose is to unify and coordinate pro-family groups around the United States and the world to more effectively oppose the now-global LGBT agenda. Press Conference Details When: Friday, February 21, 10:00 a.m. Where: National Press Club, Zenger Room, 529 14th Street N.W., Washington, DC The coalition is being organized by Dr. Scott Lively of Defend the Family International, based in Springfield, Massachusetts, and Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH), based outside Chicago, Illinois -- with the assistance of other existing pro-family groups and leaders in the United States and abroad. The first action of the coalition will be to issue a statement of support for the Russian pro-family laws of 2013 and 2014 -- e.g., the prohibition of pro-homosexual propaganda to minors -- and to urge other nations of the world to follow the Russian example.

We're wondering if Brian Camenker is feeling like the jilted lover who wasn't asked to participate or take a lead role in this new hate group. After all, he DID go to Jamaica! I guess they're just not into threesomes!
Of course, Brian Camenker is the "director" of the organization so essentially, if you're contributing, you're paying his salary. It doesn't appear from their website that there is anyone else in the organization. I'm guessing with all the recent slap downs by state legislations and voters that the anti-gay well is drying up:

"President Obama has made the definition of marriage a defining issue in the presidential contest, especially in swing states...and we intend to win this marriage debate this November."—Brian Brown, NOM president—

WASHINGTON, D.C. — National Organization for Marriage President Brian Brown responded today to the announcement by President Obama in support of redefining traditional marriage.

"President Obama has now made the definition of marriage a defining issue in the presidential contest, especially in swing states like Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, Florida and Nevada. Voters in all these states, and over two dozen more, have adopted state constitutional amendments defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman. President Obama says that although he personally supports gay marriage, he still supports the concept of states deciding the issue on their own. However, that is completely disingenuous. His administration is already trying to dismantle the nation's marriage laws by refusing to defend the Defense of Marriage Act in court. All the state marriage amendments and laws are at risk under a president who actively wants to change the definition of marriage. NOM will work ceaselessly in these swing states and across the nation to preserve traditional marriage because it is profoundly in the public good to do so. God is the author of marriage, and we will not let an activist politician like Barack Obama who is beholden to gay marriage activists for campaign financing to turn marriage into something political that can be redefined according to presidential whim. The definition of marriage was already headed for the ballot in four states this fall; now it will be one of the defining issues of the presidential election. No state in this country has ever voted for gay marriage. Just yesterday North Carolina voters sent a clear message that America wants to preserve marriage. We intend to win the marriage debate this November."

The anti-gay side, like in Massachusetts, tried anything to keep the State discriminating against gay and lesbian couples. In the days leading up to the vote there were large groups of people "praying" it wouldn't come to pass. So I guess God spoke and said NO. They even trotted out the "ex-gays" to sidetrack it and it didn't work.

But here in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, we can all look to MassResistance and thank them for doing their part. They were in the trenches working with the rightest of the anti-gay right doing their thing:

The legislative session is scheduled to end on Monday, but as reported above, the Governor and his liberal allies will likely extend it for this bill. We are in close contact with "pro-family" advocates and will keep you updated on this. Also see our special
MassResistance page on the New York marriage battle, which we plan to update frequently until the session ends..

And surprise, surprise, when you click on the link there is no mention of the fact that they lost and marriage equality is the law in New York. MassResistance: always full of promises and never delivers.

I am reminded of Brian Camenker's appearance on the Daily Show when he seriously stated that given enough time he could link marriage equality with decreased quality of life, homelessness, air quality and crime rates only now it's becoming clear that in every successful step toward Marriage Equality, MassResistance has been in close contact with the anti-gay groups. As he said in a Boston Globe article about his appearance on the show:

Camenker said that while his argument against gay marriage may not have been convincing in the footage that was aired, he may have changed some hearts and minds among the ''25-year-olds from New York City who naturally are all pro gay marriage."

''They were moved by what I said about the subject," Camenker said. ''They didn't use 99 percent of my stuff. But the arguments I said, you could tell they were visibly moved, and that I was saying things they hadn't heard before."

Yes Brian, you changed MANY hearts in New York. Once again, keep up the good work!Boston Budhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03694800029213245507noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13062504.post-32263878881545313102011-06-17T15:33:00.002-03:002011-06-17T15:58:17.847-03:00MassResistance's Hands are all over New YorkMassResistance is claiming to be in the middle of the marriage equality battle in New York State:

A Senate vote is expected to take place today or Friday. We've been in constant contact with key Orthodox Jewish activists, who have used our MassResistance material on "What Same-Sex 'Marriage' did to Massachusetts" in State House lobbyng. Can our side hold the line?
Of course MassResistance is still pulling out all the stops with the scare tactics about marriage equality, of course there no mention of Massachusetts having the lowest divorce rate in the country. One of the lies they're touting:

By the following year it was in elementary school curricula. Kindergartners were given picture books telling them that same-sex couples are just another kind of family, like their own parents. In 2005, when David Parker of Lexington,
MA – a parent of a kindergartner – strongly insisted on being notified when teachers were discussing homosexuality or transgenderism with his son, the school had him arrested and put in jail overnight.

If you click on the first link it's about the book "Who's in a family" and talks about all different types of families, no mention of marriages in this book. Then they bring up Mad Dad David Parker who held up in an elementary school knowing full well that if he didn't leave he would be arrest, Parker LOVES to play the martyr.

It’s become commonplace in Massachusetts schools for teachers to prominently display photos of their same-sex “spouses” and occasionally bring them to school functions. Both high schools in my own town now have principals who are “married” to their same-sex partners, whom they bring to school and introduce to the students.

MassResistance LOVES the quotation marks. They want same sex married couples to hide in the closet. Wants the teachers to lie to their students about their marriages and wants them to be second class citizens by not allowing them to talk about their families, that's right, their LEGAL families. Oh the horrors!

The wedding industry is required serve the homosexual community if requested. Wedding photographers, halls, caterers, etc., must do same-sex marriages or be arrested for discrimination.

Another lie, no one has been arrested or will be. Where do they get this shit?

Their list goes on and on with one ridiculous accusation after another and of course, ends with how these marriages are not really legal (did Brian Camenker or Amy Contrada ever go to law school?

The only thing that's changed in Massachusetts since marriage equality went into effect is that MassResistance is now labeled a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center for their attacks on the LGBT community. They never had crediblity but they never lost that, except that now the right wing fringe lunatics picked up their rants and post them in obscure part of the country.

What did Same Sex Marriage do to Massachusetts? Make Brian Camenker a laughing stock across the country.Boston Budhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03694800029213245507noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13062504.post-48294439339562418192011-06-15T17:00:00.004-03:002011-06-17T09:07:00.735-03:00Swimming Pool - Straights OnlyThis news sickens me:

Activists in Kentucky are planning a peaceful response after two gay men with developmental and intellectual disabilities were kicked out of a public pool.

A maintenance technician reportedly cited the Bible while telling the two men they couldn't swim at The Pavilion, a government-funded recreational facility in Hazard, Kentucky.

"We own this place and can tell you to leave if we want to," the couple was told, according to the Kentucky Equality Foundation

"The Pavilion staff immediately entered the pool area and asked my clients and their staff to leave the Pavilion," Mending Hearts Executive Director Shirlyn Perkins recalled. "My staff asked The Pavilion staff why they were being asked to leave, and they were informed that 'gay people' weren't allowed to swim there."

The scary thing is that it is probably legal to discriminate against gay people in Kentucky even if you pay taxes because I do not believe Kentucky has a law banning discrimination against LGBT citizens.Boston Budhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03694800029213245507noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13062504.post-77240058780800951972011-06-06T11:13:00.004-03:002011-06-06T11:20:04.981-03:00Red Sox to Produce "It Gets Better" VideoThis is wonderful news:

"The Red Sox organization takes the issue of bullying seriously," team spokeswoman Leah Tobin released in a statement.
