Uh, Mr. Flynn, have you forgotten about when the voters got enough signatures to put a woman's right to choose in the Constitution in 1990 and people like you got the legislature to adjourn before taking a vote? I didn't think so, you were only the mayor of Boston at the time. Maybe those years are a blur?As the final speaker of the afternoon, Mr. Flynn said same-sex marriage opponents had not wanted to take the matter into court, but were left with no other options when the Legislature voted to recess its Constitutional Convention last month rather than vote on whether to put the proposed amendment on the November 2008 ballot.
“My heavens,” he said of the vote to recess. “Folks, I have never heard or seen anything like this in the history of Massachusetts.”
BTW, Mr. Mayor do you approve of Larry Cirignano's physical assault on a woman?

I have a few questions for Cardinal O'Malley, and I thought you'd be interested in them =p
Boston Bud, thanks for pointing that out about Ray Flynn --- keeping these people honest is a full time job.
What evidence is there that Ray Flynn helped get the Legislature to adjourn in 1990? They did little else that the city wanted and Ray did little on those issues during his time as Mayor.
Gotta keep to the facts when advocating a good cause.

I don't know what you read but the post I read says:

It didn't say that Flynn personally did it, but PEOPLE LIKE HIM.
Some people use the word "like" to mean "such as", so thanks for the clarification. It's guilt by association, then, not by commission.
