Do Ya Think They Read This Blog?

Well, as expected, after Tuesday's post about MassResistance not posting anything for 2 weeks they finally updated their website yesterday on Thursday (regardless of what the date on their website says).

Their new headline reads like a 1950's Communist horror film:
David Parker's appeal of federal Civil Rights case to take place next Wednesday, Dec. 5, in Boston. Oral arguments before 3-judge panel.

Major national homosexual groups and others file amicus briefs in opposition!

Unprecedented effort by state and national organizations to stop parents' rights in schools. . .

And inside you can read their "press release" with their obligatory 2 years or so old picture of David Parker in handcuffs (which they themselves took to use for this very reason). They are setting themselves up for a BIG fall. Take a gander at their love of wild hyperbole:
  • This is unprecedented in any case involving parents challenging the homosexual agenda in public schools.
  • Over the last two and a half years this case has received national and even international notoriety.
  • It is unquestionably not an ordinary civil rights case; it clearly has national implications. And the homosexual movement understands the danger this represents to their cause.

And then they post this:

This case clearly brings to the light of day (1) how obsessed the homosexual movement is with reaching your children, and what lengths they're willing to go to do it; and (2) how strongly school systems believe that they supercede the family when it comes to defining values to children -- even if the families object.

They still totally miss the boat on why this case was dismissed in the first place. THERE ARE GAY FAMILIES THAT GO TO THESE SCHOOLS TOO. Why should those tax paying families be deprived of being represented in the daily discussions? Is the school system supposed to pretend that they don't exist (in so much that Brian Camenker wishes they didn't?)

Why is it that all these Right Wingers, who were decrying about activist judges, are now all excited about bringing their cases to the Supreme Court? MassResistance, always with the fear mongering, makes references to the Nazi's:

And furthermore, Wolf asserts that the state has no obligation to let parents exclude their kids from this, or even inform parents when it's happening. (Does that remind you of Europe in the 1930s, by any chance?)

And as usual, they rewrite history:

David Parker was arrested in April 2005 and jailed overnight over school staff discussing homosexuality and transgenderism with his son in kindergarten without parents' knowledge or consent.

NO, David Parker was arrested because he refused to leave a Lexington elementary school after he was told by police that if he didn't leave he would be arrested.

They end their tirade with this:

We recently met with a mother who was preparing to take her local school system to court over a particular homosexual-related activity that she felt was going to affect her child in a destructive way. But when she discussed it with her lawyer (who specializes in dealing with public schools) the lawyer told her that the recent ruling by Federal Judge Mark Wolf in the David Parker case would make it difficult for her to win!

Hmm...who could this have been? Can you imagine what the "homosexual-related activity" was? Was it designing an outfit for "Project Runway"? Maybe it was doing a re-creation of the frescoes in the Sistine Chapel? Or could it have been showing the kids how to win back-to-back Olympic titles in both the 3m and 10m diving events? Quite possibly it was just putting on the Laramie Project.

The Writing Is On the Wall

The signs are everywhere: MassResistance hasn't updated it's website since November 14th. Their last radio show was on October 6th and since then they've been threatening us by saying that they're getting back on the air, it's now November 28th.

People that I've been talking with have been saying that the whole "Laramie Project" at the Acton/Boxborough High School pretty much did them in. Then the icing on the cake was when Amy Contrada, who allowed her daughter to participate in the high school play, abruptly pulled her from the play and school the week before the final performances cutting the student off from her closest support group and then posting intimidate details of the young woman's life on their websites. This last act was surely the act of disturbed individuals and has appeared to make the family outcasts in the community.

I can't imagine that many people are donating to their brand of hate lately either especially after they spread those personal details about Amy daughter around the web. Ironically, other than MassResistance, no other anti-gay group has picked up this story. It reeked of desperation. That AFA/Focus on the Family groups are probably also disturbed at how low the MassResistance "staffers" have sunk this time.

Only time will tell when they show their ugly little heads. I hear the fat lady singing.

Still No New MassResistance Radio Show

People have been emailing and writing comments on this blog wondering why Brian and Amy haven't gotten another radio show on another radio station. For the past two weeks they have been teasing us with taunts such as "We will be on this weekend on a new POWERFUL station" and then nothing.

Now they're doing more teasing:

While we're preparing to move to our new station,

MassResistance radio is moving to a new, more powerful station!

Get ready to tune in Saturday mornings 9:00 am to 10:00 am. starting again next week (at least that's the plan).

Which begs the question "What do they have to do to prepare?". You would think they would have at least been on the radio a few weeks ago when their partners in thought, Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church, were in town. I was expecting to hear their interview with Fred's daughter who shares Brian and Amy's view of gay people, but no.

They were probably too busy airing intimidate details on the web about Amy's daughter. Or was it time consuming attacking the people in the Acton-Boxborough area for supporting the student's efforts in putting on a play. Could it be because they were threatening the Roche Brother's Supermarkets? Maybe it was because they were consumed with going after Bay Windows for the umpteenth time?

There is talk that after their latest kerfuffle with "The Laramie Project" at Acton Boxborough High School, they had done themselves in. People finally saw them for what they really are, hate obsessed nuts. Of course, I knew that a long long time ago.

Heartbreaking

MassResistance is loving that the Amy's daughter's appearance in "The Laramie Project" has legs because they're ones, Brian Camenker and Amy Contrada, who are keeping it alive. Just read their latest awful attack on this young woman.

In Amy's latest post she attacks and threatens Bay Windows for reporting online what was found on the school's website about the play. She also accuses the blog QueerToday of posting lies.

They are attacking everyone for "damaging an Acton youth" when Brian and Amy are the ones making public intimate details of this young woman's life even going so far as posting pictures of her bedroom! Have they no shame?

Everything I've seen written on the web about this young woman, with the exception of the MassResistance Website and blog, has been supportive and caring.

Lower Than a Snake's Belly

Wow, I just read the most vile and truly disgusting post over at Massresistance. Brian and Amy not only threw Amy's daughter under the bus, but they backed up, ran over her and did it all over again. I am amazed that any parent would do that to their own child:

Homosexual activists - possibly in cooperation with school staff -- have viciously targeted a 17-year-old special-needs student, the daughter of Amy Contrada, a MassResistance staffer. (It's outrageous that a parent is now forced to reveal once-private information in order to stop this assault.)

Not happy with making sure that the world knows that Amy's daughter is adopted and of another race, Massresistance is broadcasting that the young woman is a special-needs student. (That's one way to boost her self esteem). They publish all this personal information about this poor young woman just to further their own homophobic agenda. They blame everyone who has ever come in contact with Amy's daughter for her being a lesbian, which Amy claims could never be true.

What normal parent would on one hand take pictures of their child's bedroom and post it on the web for the world to see and on the other hand claim that the woman is disturbed? Unbelievable! I cannot believe that Brian and Amy of MassResistance would exploit Amy's daughter like this. I never thought they could get any lower than they already have (Posting children's pictures on their website, video and audio tapping of children against their parent's permission, accusing people of serious crimes without proof, etc...) I was wrong.

Oh, for the record, when I was growing up I had pictures of all of the Charlie's Angels (except Kate Jackson) on my walls.

When Quotation Marks Go Wild!

I was going to write about how Brian and Amy are now attacking the majority of people of Acton and Boxborough over "The Laramie Project". You see these people had the audacity to actually have an opinion and the nerve to write a letter to local newspaper responding to the hateful rant that Amy Contrada got published the week before. But after reading the title of the piece I was just bowled over with laughter. Take a look:

Local Acton "liberals" step up the venom - intimidation campaign against critics of "Laramie Project."
Now it used to be that Brian and Amy only used the "" (quotes) when they were referring to gay people (the "homosexual" activists) or same sex couples marrying (the two men "married")because for some reason it they don't believe either homosexuals or gay marriage exists. But now they've taken it to a whole new level as evidenced from the title above. Are they saying that the liberals aren't really liberals?

And the quotes continue with their comments on the citizen's letters:

This woman takes another standard approach to demean critics. This is the "gentler" way of twisting what the article actually said and mixing in bogus "facts", with a dash of sanctimonious jabs at morality and religious belief.
and
And of course, there's the lesbian activist "observing" that, thank goodness, these ignorant critics of this wonderful play are just a small minority -- hurtful, extremists. And won't it be great when we all embrace homosexuality and we can put all these controversies behind us?

I paused to imagine what their home life was like:
Brian: Dear, I'm going to the "bathroom" do we have "enough" toilet paper?
or

Amy: Does anyone want to make"lunch" or should I take the "car" and "drive" to the "store" and "pick" something up?
I can picture them using air quotes on the radio too. They must have HUGE forearms!

The Laramie Project

This weekend is the opening of Acton-Boxborough Regional High School's production of "The Laramie Project":

This powerful play explores how the citizens of Laramie, Wyoming, dealt with the aftermath of the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay college student there. Through the voices of those interviewed, the play shows how attitudes towards homosexuality, religion, class, economics, and education were reflected through this hate crime. The play is not a re-enactment, but rather a portrait of this small western town — and a snapshot of the culture in the United States in 1998. This play contains adult language and subject matter. It is recommended WITH PARENTAL GUIDANCE for age 13 and older.

Seating Information Performances are in the ABRHS auditorium. Seats are not reserved. Doors open one-half hour before each show. No refunds or exchanges. Tickets may be picked up at the ticket desk starting two hours before show time. The ticket desk is located in the FRONT LOBBY at A-B High School.

The Saturday night show is already SOLD OUT so make sure you get your tickets ahead of time! Fred Phelps' Clan is supposed to be protesting this Saturday too. MassResistance is trying to distance themselves from Fred's Baptist group but we all know they are one in the same only Fred is more truthful then they are. In fact last time Fred made an appearance in Massachusetts in 2005 and it was on behalf of Mad Dad David Parker and "The Laramie Project" in Newton. Brian was trying to distance himself from them then too!

Surprise! Ms. MassResistance Lies Again!

Now this is precious. Ms. Massresistance has a new post up and look what she's lying about now:
Another excellent piece by Matt Barber of Concerned Women for America, "Homosexuality: What's all the fuss?" (WorldNetDaily, 11-1-07). He addresses one of the most annoying taunts thrown our way: Aren't you hyperfocused on Homosexuality? But most of us fighting this battle never gave homosexuality much thought prior to November 2003. But then, crazy judges in Massachusetts pushed our faces into the poop, forced us to lick and declare it good. Since then, as Barber says, "we find ourselves – back against the ropes – in a fight we did not pick, struggling in a culture war we did not ask for."

Read what she wrote again:
But most of us fighting this battle never gave homosexuality much thought prior to November 2003.

Now why would Amy lie about when she started verbally bashing gay people? A quick google search finds this article she wrote for MassNews in 2001 about the Boy Scouts and gay people:
The answer that is obvious to many parents is that homosexuals should not be allowed to be leaders in the troop anymore than they heterosexual men are allowed to be girl scout leaders. Parents don't have a problem telling heterosexual men that they don't want to risk entrusting their girls to them. Why should parents feel bad about telling homosexual men that they don't want to take a chance with their boys?

So obviously her "battle" against gay people began years before that. MassNews, who Amy wrote for then, was started by J. Edward Pawlick, the guy started the first petition in the early 2000's to ban same sex marriages. Me thinks the lady doest protest too much.

Another Republican "I'm Not Gay" Speech

I've been following this story for the past couple of days and it had me fascinated. Pam's House Blend was where I first read it (and it moved very quickly). Here's the timeline:

Sunday, October 28th: Spokesman Review Online posted a story about a Washington State Rep who was allegedly being extorted:

An alleged extortion attempt involving a state lawmaker and a reputed male prostitute is under investigation by Spokane police.

Details surrounding the case remained sketchy Sunday, but authorities confirmed that it involves two-term state Rep. Richard Curtis, a Republican from the small southwest Washington town of La Center, and that there was some type of confrontation last week at Davenport Tower. The identity of the alleged extortionist was unavailable, though police confirm he is a reputed prostitute.

Then when word got out, GOP Rep. Curtis stated he wasn't gay:

SPOKANE -- State Representative Richard Curtis says he's not gay, but police reports and court records indicate the Republican lawmaker from southwestern Washington dressed up in women's lingerie and met a Medical Lake man in a local erotic video store which led to consensual sex at a downtown hotel and a threat to expose Curtis' activities publicly.

The GOP legislator was receiving oral sex from a man at the video store before his encounter with the prostitute. BTW, the Republican State Rep has a wife and kids too. Oh but it gets better:

Curtis, during an interview with a Spokane detective, claimed that he gave Castagna $100 for "gas money" and insisted that the money was not payment for sex. During that phone conversation he claimed he only had $200 and left the money in an envelope at the front desk at the Davenport Tower for Castagna in exchange for the return of his wallet.

The "still not gay" Republican State Rep. told the police (via The Stranger):

Curtis stated both he and the male walked into the lobby together. He told the male gain that he would give the male $100 to help him out but he was not paying him to have sex. Curtis and the male went up to Curtis’ room, which was 968. Once in the room Curtis gave the male $100…. Curtis and the male ultimately had anal intercourse on the bed in Curtis’ hotel room. The male performed intercourse on Curtis and the male’s semen and/or DNA would be on the inside of the condom while Curtis’ DNA would be on the exterior. Curtis said he was the person who received the anal sex.

Finally after all those denials, Republican State Rep. Curtis resigns:

"I sincerely apologize for any pain my actions may have caused," he wrote. "This has been damaging to my family, and I don't want to subject them to any additional pain that might result from carrying out this matter under the scrutiny that comes with holding public office."

Three days earlier, Curtis had insisted to his local newspaper that he was not gay and that sex was not involved in what he said was an extortion attempt by a man last week.

And there's so much lurid details. I really recommend check out Pam's site or Dan Savage's site for all the hypocrisy of another "Family Values Politician". I'll leave you with a statement by one of Curtis's peers in the Washington State House:

...Rep. Lynn Schindler, R-Spokane, said she sat next to Curtis during one of the events. She also said she had not heard about the alleged crime.

“It doesn’t fit the profile of the person I know,” she said. “That kind of surprises me from his dealings with me.”
