Who's Really Disconnected?

MassResistance is now touting that the Massachusetts Legislators are "disconnected". MassResistance is so far right that even conservative Republicans are dissing them and yet they say that the legislature is out of touch!!! ROFLMAO!

Commentary [Updated]:
What we must do now The Massachusetts Legislature really doesn't get it. These public officials are disconnected from reality. MassResistance

Oh, they also list the 10 (that's right, 10 legislators voted against increasing funding for at risk teens) Reps who appears to support them:

Rep.BradleyJones@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2100 Rep.JohnLepper@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2100

Rep.VinnydeMacedo@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2100
Rep.LewisEvangelidis@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2263
Rep.MaryRogeness@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2100
Rep.GeorgePeterson@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2100

Rep.JeffreyPerry@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2396
Rep.ElizabethPoirier@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2976

Rep.KarynPolito@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2230
Rep.DanielWebster@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2487

I'm not sure why these legislators voted against the funding, however, I would like to know if they support the MassResistance, the nationally recognized hate group. I feel a State House visit coming on! We've got some educating to do!

Is it the toxic twins who are so dull-witted or do they assume their target readers are?

This parallels their regular annual feature of the growing list of Pride supporting companies and people. They print the huge list of major firms and big shots who support pride, and conclude not that MR is hopeless out of touch, but that these on their long and growing list are evil. The larger world supports Pride and this dwindling party does not. What can we learn from that?

Now, only a tiny percentage of the legislature votes against funds for the kids. MR's conclusion is a similar one — the huge majority is all wrong and the shrinking set of haters is right.

I'm imagining how they're going to pitch this at election time, replacing virtually all the legislature to ensure anti-gay goals can be reached.

The "toxic twins"!!! Nice one.

I have a theory, supported by research conducted by Ryan Sorba, that Brian and Amy are actually transgendered, cross-dressing, lesbians from an alternate reality, and that in their world they are always right.

It would explain a lot.

It's such a bummer that John Lepper and Mary Rogeness won't be around a year from now.

Tom Lang and I will be at the state house on Friday May 16 to do his annual "thank you" sign for marriage equality. Tom has done this each year since it's inception.

If any of you wish to join us perhaps we could walk the halls and visit a few of these legislators in person.

Funnily enough, hacks over at RedMassGroup have been berating the Mass. GOP for turning their back on the social conservatives, including MR. I can't figure out if the hiring of Rob Willington is a cause or a symptom, but the Mass. GOP has fully lost touch with the people of this state (and reality):

http://redmassgroup.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=1456

This kind of funding will (of course) drive social conservatives beserk - especially when it is groups like MassResistance which dig up this stuff & not the loyal opposition on Beacon Hill. Since the state GOP minority leaders in both the House & Senate have publicly abjured any interest in social issues, social conservatives feel like they have nowhere to go. They therefore either leave the state, opt out of their civic duties & live apart from society, or they devote all of their energies to groups like MassResistance. With the state GOP expressing no interest in their concerns (& even going so far as to vote with Democrats against those same concerns), social conservatives are encouraged to view the state GOP as the enemy. That attitude encourages more of them to join groups like MassResistance or political parties like the Constitution Party. They will support a GOP candidate if said candidate belongs to their network of friends/activists but (given the state party's antipathy), such candidates are less likely to endure the sacrifices necessary to get elected. Why should they? The state GOP hasn't been receptive to them.

May 15, 2008...the day Brian and Amy were able to expand their foolery and griping and waste of reactionary old people's dough to California. :D

Actually, I hope they stay away from bridges and the tops of high buildings today. I'd recommend a jug of Jack Daniels to them and hitting the bars to drown their pain, but that would invite too much danger of Brian getting drunk and propositioning some good-looking guy....

A "nationally recognized hate group"?! OHHH! Sounds important.

Let me guess: you're taking that from the SPLC, itself a hate group?
