MassResistance's SUCCESS!!!

at failing to get enough signatures to put the racist 1913 law on the ballot. YES!

I didn't need an email from Brian to already know this since it's been evident ever since they embarked on this anti-gay endeavor back in August.

But BayWindows has the story:

The effort by the anti-gay group MassResistance to reinstate the 1913 law has failed. The group had spent the past two months collecting signatures to place a referendum on the 2010 ballot to reinstate the law, which the legislature and Gov. Deval Patrick repealed in July, but by the Oct. 29 deadline for gathering signatures MassResistance had only managed to collect one-third of the total needed.
As BayWindows notes, MassResistance has removed all traces of this failed petition drive from their website, but not here. MassResistance Watch has all the information you need and I have all their hate mails detailing their progress:

It's impossible to get an exact count since people and signature sheets are scattered across the state.

I wonder what all those "$500.00" donors are thinking at this moment? "I gave money for what!?!" I'm guessing Brian's going to have to find a real job now unless he pocketed all the cash he claimed he raised for the petition which failed.

Finally, in the words of Brian Camenker's MassResistance:

What this Referendum means

This is a big deal. Besides eventually stopping a horrible social experiment from being forced across the country, this sends some very strong messages...

And as we said, the rest of the Boston media isn't far behind. They really don't get it. They're going to be very disappointed when we get done . . .

MassResistance Defends Alleged Stripping Photographer

Gosh, I go away for a few days and it seems that the anti-gay forces over at MassResistance go berserk! Thanks to all those alert readers to forwarded me the links:

ANDOVER — A Wakefield man claimed he was standing outside a local school snapping photos of students for a documentary, but after a foot chase through backyards while stripping his clothing, police aren't buying his story.

Yes kids, it seems this guy was working for MassResistance, doing what Brian Camenker usually does himself, snapping pictures of assuming kids against their will only this guy, Michael Olivio, decided to strip away his clothing in the process. Brian was mentioned in the article though:

But Michael Olivio's employer has come forward to back up his story. Olivio, 48, works for the anti-gay rights group MassResistance.org. Brian Camenker (pictured at right), head of the group, said Olivio mistakenly went to West Middle School Tuesday to snap pictures instead of the high school.

Camenker said Olivio was to get pictures of the high school because the state Commission on Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual and Transgendered Youth held a meeting there Monday night.

"I figured I would do a write-up for the Web site and I wanted a picture of the high school," Camenker said.

Hmm...this seemed to happen last week and yet Brian still hasn't done a write-up for the website. And then there's the money quote at the end of the story:
Camenker said he attended Olivio's arraignment in Lawrence District Court and that they were considering legal action against the police. Olivio was charged with disorderly conduct.

Why is it that every time Brian Camenker gets involved there's the threat of lawsuits and conspiracy theories. It's always THEM, the police, legislators, Governors, bloggers, homosexual activists... But MassResistance staffers keep photographing children and now can add stripping to their successes!

Calendar Challenged MassResistance

Well, Brian must read this blog because he finally changed his website. For a couple of days it looked like this:

Yes, Brian is still calendar challenged and can't seem to get his days of the week together (It makes sense when you realize he's living in some bizarro year, 1920's anyone?) Stay tuned because I will be posting about his new report "What Same-sex "marriage" has done to Massachusetts". Get out your popcorn and don't drink while you read it, because your beverage of choice just might come out your nose as you're laughing!

Rewriting History

Thanks to an astute observer, Brian Camenker, the President of that nationally identified hate group MassResistance, has removed all mention of their signature drive to repeal the repeal of the 1913 law. Additionally, they didn't replace it with any information or update on where they stand in the process.

It appears that they are in the process of confirming the validity of the signatures with the individual town halls across the state then they submit the valid signatures to the Secretary of State's office. The Sec. of State's office could not confirm the time frame that MassResistance has to get the signatures to them.

It will be interesting to see if MassResistance gets these signatures when the Mass Family Institute and the Massachusetts Catholic Church were both against this hateful venture. I guess Brian is thinking of this as job security since if he gets the signatures he will be able to beg people for more money to fund the campaign which will no doubt pay his salary (he is not a volunteer, both him and Amy were paid by the proceeds raised from MassResistance and the Parent's Rights Coalition).

Catholic Church Smackdown!

Boy, Brian Camenker is not having a good week. David Parker loses his appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, the CT Supreme Court says the state has to allow gay couples to marry and the Boston Diocese of the Catholic Church gives Brian a big ole be-otch slap.

Apparently, the Cardinal signed one of their petitions to repeal the repeal of the 1913 law and Brian took this to mean that the whole Catholic Church would stand beside him in his anti-gay quest. Uh...not so fast. Brian, er, MassResistance, sent a letter to every Catholic Church in Massachusetts asking for their participation in his endeavor, however, the Cardinal immediately sent out an email slapping down MassResistance:

On Monday, October 6, a group of Catholic activists at MassResistance planned the big Columbus Day weekend push to get signatures in churches. They prepared a mailing of petitions and instructions to all 680 churches in the state. The activists wrote a letter about the Cardinal signing the petition, signed by Brian Camenker, which they included. It was mailed on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, October 8, Brian Camenker received a phone call from Ed Saunders, director of the Massachusetts Catholic Conference (MCC). Saunders ordered us to "cease and desist" any efforts to communicate with parishes (an order which, of course, has no legal standing). He said that the Archdiocese had just sent out an email to all the churches in the state (see below) instructing them not to participate in the petition effort.

Saunders said that the letter by Catholic activists was "disrespectful" (you can judge for yourself). He said that the Cardinal signed the petition "in a moment of weakness" and that he did it "privately" - even though he signed it at a public event in front of several people.

So what does Brian do? Does he respect the decision of the Cardinal? No, he tells his lemmings "maybe he should hear from you!" hmm..sounds like a little intimidation to me, what do you think? Oh, and of course, as always, Brian comes up with conspiracy theory:

What's really going on? Several insiders have quietly indicated that the Church leadership now wants to stay away from the homosexual issue, for various reasons. If that's the case, they're doing everyone a disservice. It's not going away.

Where does Brian get his information?

CT Supreme Court Rules on Equal Marriage

The CT Supreme Court ruled today:

Hartford (WTNH/AP) -- The Connecticut Supreme Court has ruled that a ban on same-sex marriage in Connecticut is unconstitutional.

"The guarantee of equal protection under the law, and our obligation to uphold that command, forbids us from doing so," the high court said in making its decision. "In accordance with these state constitutional requirements, same sex couples cannot be denied the freedom to marry."

U.S. Supreme Court DENIES David Parker's Lawsuit

For more in depth information see MassMarrier's post.

The Supreme Court of the U.S. denied David Parker's lawsuit without comment. No comment from MassResistance yet but Brian did talk about it in the past:

Can a case like this eventually be won?

It's happened before and it can happen again. Remembering the famous St. Patrick's Boston Parade case in the mid 1990's, Parker said that he is not at all discouraged. In that case, known as the Hurley case, an openly homosexual group wanted to march in the South Boston St. Patrick's Day Parade, but the organizers refused to allow them. With the help of the liberal legal establishment the group sued -- and won -- claiming that the parade was a "public accommodation" and may not discriminate. Famed pro-family attorney Chester Darling, arguing the case pro-bono for the parade organizers, kept appealing the case and lost on the local, state, and federal level 17 times. Finally, the US Supreme Court heard the case and eventually ruled 9-0 in favor of the parade organizers -- that the parade's freedom of speech trumps political correctness!

Although the lawsuit so far has cost the Parkers an enormous amount of money, effectively draining their savings, they believe strongly that it's important that they stand firm on this issue. They are amazing people. Everyone needs to support them

But they lost. What is Brian going to say about the Supreme Court now?

Happy October

Wow, I can't believe it's been over a month since I last posted. So many things have been going on since the last time I wrote. We've been helping people move, attending conferences (in Texas during Hurricane Ike!) and our regular day to day activities. With all that homosexual activist stuff we're always getting accused of doing like bringing down the economy and lowering the moral of America, it's been a busy month.

On the flip side, MassResistance hasn't been all that active either. Ms. MassResistance hasn't posted since June and Brian occassionally posts a line or two on the main website, but overall they haven't been up to too much lately except ensuring that they'll be on the Southern Poverty Law Center's Hate Group list next year.

Yes my friends, while Brian Camenker hasn't been updating his website, he still have been sending out his hate mails to his minions begging for dollars:

But we are fighting back. If we can collect approximately 40,000 signatures on the Referendum Petition by October 15, this will go on the ballot. The people will get to vote. But there are about two weeks left. If we don't get the signatures, it's all over.

At this point, we're getting there, but we've got a ways to go. Our guess is that we're behind schedule but we hope to still make it. It's impossible to get an exact count since people and signature sheets are scattered across the state.

What YOU must do . . .We really need everyone's help right now.

* If you live in Massachusetts: Everyone please sign the petition. This is really important - if you can't go out there and help collect, every person at least needs to sign it, (and get at least one or two others). If you can't download it, contact us and we'll mail you a copy.

* If you live outside of Massachusetts: Any donation will help. We are depending on people and groups across America to help us make this happen. You can donate here.
We still have some big mailings we need to pay for (see #4 below). We're going to charge right to the finish line! With everyone's help we will make it!

and in the bottom section of their email they talk about their fundraising challege (my comments are in red):

4. Fundraising update . . . Our $500 matching donation challenge!

We are trying to raise money for a huge mailing to signers of the Marriage Petition - to send a petition form to each household that signed it.

This is important! We've got the mailing set up and it's ready to go. But we still need to raise several thousand dollars to get the presses started. And time is running short.

The $500 challenge

Earlier this month, Mark P. (this guy is so proud to support MassResistance that he doesn't even give his last name) started it off with an offer to donate $500 if others match it with their own $500 donations. (is this like "if you show me yours I'll show you mine?") He wanted to see how many of these matching $500 donations we can get in two weeks. (To put this in perspective, the homosexual lobby raised $250,000 to get the 1913 law repealed.)Since then we've $500 donations from: Matthew S., Clarence H., Marjorie F., Albert L., Sally N., and the Life Action League of Mass. And Jim T. donated $1000! (another group of proud MassResistance supports with no last names)

Will YOU join them? Will you invest $500 or more? Is our work worthwhile for you to invest in? NO Our efforts depend o n you!

In typical MassResistance fashion, they didn't look into the future. If they get these signatures, thousands of couples will still be getting married from all over this country until this gets to the ballot. At that point, two years from now, people in this state will see that Marriage Equality is a benefit to the people of the Commonwealth and vote it down. Meanwhile, Sally N & Jim T will be hounded endlessly by MassResistance to give more money for the ballot initiative.

I can't wait for the television ads exposing MassResistance as a hate group along with the KKK and Fred Phelps. You know it's going to happen.
