He's Entitled To His Opinion Too!

Well, Ms. Massresistance posted for a THIRD day another rant by "John Haskins" crying the illegality of same sex marriages in Massachusetts. And for the THIRD day, Ms. Massresistance has offered NOTHING of "John Haskins" qualifications for making such an argument.

A google search of "John Haskins" turns up that "he" posted various other rants for the American Spectator and is "an associate director of the Parents' Rights Coalition" I've also found him being the "acting director of the Parents' Rights Coalition" and "associate director of Article 8". Is it getting any clearer yet? This hack, if it's not Amy or Brian, is another Article 8/Parents Rights Coalition "associate" who's only expertise seems to HOMOSEXUALITY (yet not being gay). So I thought I'd ask an associate of mine to comment because God knows my postings doesn't give Massresistance any credibility (Who could?).

This will (hopefully) be a continuing feature at Massresistance Watch. You know, our policy at MassResistance Watch is to address the issues (and lies spread such hate groups at Article 8, Massresistance, Parents Rights Coalition, hell, just about anything that Brian Camenker seems to get involved in) and the more legit but nevertheless hateful right wing groups out there like Mass Family Institute.

My associate Gus will occasionally offer his timely thoughts on the issues or lies at hand.

In full disclosure, yes, Gus is my cat of 14 years. Yes, he may be biased since my husband feeds him everyday, but he's also entitled to his opinion and hey, he's lived with a gay guy for all his life. I bet Brian nor Amy nor this "John Haskins" can say the same. Gus is also straight and a cancer survivor. He doesn't mince words. (There you already know more about Gus than you do this "John Haskins". Today Gus responds with:
Meow
Wow, short and sweet. He didn't need three posts to get his point across. I guess I'll need to get working on getting that translated. But still, what insight!

I suspect one of them is much more cuddly than the other as well.

Their alleged legal expert does a Limbaugh by asserting repeatly that our SJC was making law, that courts don't have the power that the SJC exercises, that only the General Court can determine what's legal and blah blah blah. Tbe anti folk love that position.

Yet, saying something wrong loudly and many times doesn't make you right. It makes you loud, repetitive and still wrong.

My kids tried that kind of stuff in elementary school. They outgrew it.

Let the people say, "Meow."

Another interesting thing about Haskins' diatribe is the way he describes Mitt Romney as "handsome", not once, not twice, but THREE times. Maybe Mr. Haskins should ask Mitt out on a date instead of proclaming how attractive he is on the Parent's Rights/Article h8/Massresistance websites?

Amy and Brain are great for a laugh! I love how they just make stuff up. Imagine spending so much of your time and energy on something that doesn't affect your life at all. I think Brian must be fighting his own homosexuality. Why else would he be so obsessed with homosexuality and gay sex?
I feel bad for their children. It's a shame.

You people think you are so smart. You thought you had gay marriage in Canada too. The Canadian people are on their way to electing a Conservative government that will put an end to gay marriage once and for all. The same thing will happen here in Massachusetts. Every conservative group in the country will come to our aid and blanket the airwaves with truth. The voters will rise up and end the farse of pervert marriage here in the Bay State. Enjoy yourselves because in 2008 it will be a thing of the past and you can all go back in the "closet" where you belong.

What an unhappy camper! Is it simply that today the nation honors someone who believed in and advanced rights for minorities? That must be tough to take if you are in closet of hate.

Poor, poor TS, who also sees same-sex marriage here, up north and in Europe. Hoping to take away or deny equality must also bitter in feeling and thought.

Lackaday, TS and hie the to thine own closet.

P.S. ...and what the devil is a "farse"? Is that what hateful types carry their keys and wallets in?

The following is from the encyclopedia. Actually it is a perfect discription of Article 8 and MassResistance.

farce:light, comic theatrical piece in which the characters and events are greatly exaggerated to produce broad, absurd humor. Early examples of farce can be found in the comedies of Aristophanes, Plautus, and Terence. During the Middle Ages the term farce designated interpolations made in the church litany by the clergy. Later it came to mean comic scenes inserted into church plays. The farce emerged as a separate genre in 15th-century France with such plays as the anonymous La farce de Maître Pierre Pathelin (c.1470). In England two of the earliest and best-known farces are Ralph Roister Doister (1566) and Shakespeare’s Comedy of Errors (c.1593). Instances of farcical elements, such as broad, ribald humor, physical buffoonery, and absurd situations can be found in many plays that are not termed farces, such as the comedies of Molière. In the 19th and early 20th cent. plays called “bedroom farces,” best exemplified in the works of Feydeau, were popular. Usually French or modeled on the French, they had suggestive dialogue, and they usually concerned erring husbands and wives, silly servants, and mistaken identity. In the 20th cent., farce found new expression in the films of Charlie Chaplin, the Keystone Kops, and the Marx Brothers.

Farce yes, but a very dark one. I think it's much closer to mental illness. Today Amy Contrada tried to twist Dr. King's writing on "unjust laws" into an argument that he would oppose gay rights and gay marriage.

In rebuttal, here are the words of Dr. King's widow:

"I still hear people say that I should not be talking about the rights of lesbian and gay people and I should stick to the issue of racial justice," she said. "But I hasten to remind them that Martin Luther King Jr. said, 'Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.'" "I appeal to everyone who believes in Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream to make room at the table of brother- and sisterhood for lesbian and gay people,"

Coretta Scott King,- Reuters, March 31, 1998.

Don't forget Dr. King's relationship with Bayard Rustin:

http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2004/12/14/EDGEBAB7KB1.DTL

"Best known as the driving force behind the historic 1963 March on Washington, Rustin was a close King associate and a known homosexual. (In 1953, Rustin was convicted on "morals" charges -- the parlance, in the frozen mood of that day, for homosexual acts.) King knew this, as did top FBI officials, black elected officials, civil-rights leaders and the tight circle of black ministers around King. That didn't deter King from embracing Rustin."

Or Coretta on gay marriage:

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2004-03-24-king-marriage_x.htm

"Gay and lesbian people have families, and their families should have legal protection, whether by marriage or civil union," she said. "A constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriages is a form of gay bashing and it would do nothing at all to protect traditional marriages."

When "gay marriage" falls in Canada this year it trigger a backlash against "gay marriage" here in Massachusetts. Mark my word.....your days are numbered before the closet dooor is closed. Mr. and Mrs Pawlick, Brian, and Amy are heros to the majority of Mass voters who have been gagged and bound by the gay loving legislature. Canada will be the catylst. Go Harper!!!!!

"Truthsince64" obviously isn't from Massachusetts since this "new" admendment that MFI is proposing will not do anything to the marriages that have taken place since May 17, 2004. There will ALWAYS be married same-sex couples in Massachusetts. You can't force people to get divorces or recind their marriages. I will always be married until I die so your bigotry will not affect me.

Gus is falling behind. Mr. Haskins is now on five "Parts" and counting.

Gus, please don't let the homophobes go unanswered for want of a devastating "meow"!

Hey, is he named after Asparagus, The Theatre Cat?

I wish he would comment on an article Camenker has planted in the Agape Press today. He states that all of the male teachers in the elementary schools in his town are homosexuals. This guy says he is a christian and then lies through his teeth to get his point across. I wish someone would call him on this.

Well, I'm sure Gus (who is short for Asparagus) would say "Meow" to Camenker. As a matter of fact I know he would. What Cmenker says is that there is "a" school in his town that has all gay teachers.

1) those lucky kids to have these gay men & women as teachers.

2) his point is in reference to Judge Del Vecchio's decision to not imprison a man who had "consensual" sex(not rape) with a student who was 6 weeks away from the age of consent. The teacher did get, however, five (5) years probation. The Judge's reasoning was that inmates are not treated for being predators and if he's on probabtion he'll be forced to go into treatment. A very modern way to look at the situation. Locking them up is proven not to 'fix' child predetors.

I'd also like to state, God willing, for the LAST time, that a homosexual and a child predator are two different people. They are not the same, and shouldn't be grouped together...ever. Shall I consider every straight man a rapist as well as a bad dresser?

Anonymous said...

well, not exactly, he says one parent he has talked to said that every male teacher in his/her elementary school is gay, and that's not necessarily in the same town as his. And when I was in elementary school, there were only two males, the principal and the music teacher, and I later found out that the music teacher was gay. And that's 50% right there, so shouldn't there have been at least ten male teachers in my elementary school in order for there to be one gay teacher?

Anonymous said...

The following is Camenkers comments in the Agape article. He does say that he was told that "many schools in his community had all gay men as teachers". I doubt very much that this is true. Camenker bends the truth all the time to make his points. This is not the first time or the last time he will do it.

"Camenker contends the problem of homosexual teachers in public schools has gotten out of control -- particularly in his own state. He says that according to one parent he has conversed with, there are some elementary schools in his community where all of the male teachers are homosexual.

"And we're seeing more and more of that," he adds. "I know in my own kids' school, the numbers of teachers who identify themselves as homosexual is probably ten times the number of homosexuals in the population."

Anonymous said...

So is he suggesting that we BAN all teachers who are gay from Teaching? Why don't we just haul them off to camps? Or exterminate them? Camenker is an idiot.

Anonymous said...

Camenker's argument leads back to my favorite 'phobe contradiction. Gays are a vanishingly small part of the population (he likes to claim 1%), but at the same time, we control the media, the schools, and the government.

Similarities to justification for the Holocaust aside, it's just plain silly.

In this case, 2 out of 20 would fit his 10x number. And why the hell does it matter? Unless, of course, the goal is to make being illegal.

Anonymous said...

I think that is their ultimate goal - illegalize homosexuality and gay adoption. If you listen to their retoric that can be their only goal. If homosexuality is that bad and dangerous it has to be made illegal.

Anonymous said...

well, it used to be illegal, so made illegal again.

Anonymous said...

BTW, Camenker is NOT a Christian. He's a Jacoby Jew (tm). You know the type - extremely vocal about any hint of discrimination aimed at Jews, staunch defender of discrimination aimed at any other group, especially gays and Muslims.

For the record, I'm Jewish, Jacoby and Camenker are embarrasments. If they devoted the hours they spend twisting logic to mitzvahs instead, the world would be a better place.

unfortunately, I'm allergic to cats, so for Gus, I can take an antihistamine, but what on earth can I take for Camenker?
