MassResistance is Boycotting the Mainstream Media

Hahahahahahahahah, OK, I really have to get off the floor since I am laughing so hard:
What the Boston Globe (and Springfield Republican) did to Scott Lively is in our opinion only the beginning. They are clearly out to demonize and attack us, and twist our words into propaganda against us. They may have a broad First Amendment right to do these things, but we don't have to help them. Thus, MassResistance is calling on the entire pro-family and conservative movement not to grant any interviews whatsoever with them or talk to their reporters.

So how will people ever hear of them since they won't be interviewed?
This should not preclude individuals from communicating with them -- and sounding off to them. We still encourage people to write letters to the editor to the Globe, and even submit op-ed articles. You should especially feel free to contact individual reporters with feedback on their reporting.

HUH? no interviews but don't stop yourself from talking to them...? What are these people smoking?

No worries Brian. The Boston Globe stopped quoting you after MassResistance was named a Hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, remember? Even the Mass Family Institute doesn't want to be associated with you. And the last time I looked, even the Republicans in Massachusetts were cancelling their rallies if you were speaking so no worries.

MassResistance Tries to Defend Scott Lively

Unbelievable is the only way to describe MassResistance's defense of anti-gay Scott Lively's interview with the Boston Globe:

How the media poisons a "feature article" on a pro-family conservative

The heavy bias and unprofessionalism in the way the Boston Globe and other mainstream media often cover a pro-family conservative versus a liberal is quite profound, bordering on propaganda. They clearly want the casual reader to dislike (and be fearful of) the pro-family conservative, and like and trust the liberal.

Hmm...how many times in the post did Brian Camenker, AKA MassResistance use the terms "pro-family"? NINE times, yep, it had to repeat it NINE times so you know that Scott Lively and MassResistance are PRO-FAMILY.

But there's more:

What they didn't let Scott Lively tell you

The article would have certainly been more interesting if Scott Lively had been able to refute the charges and accusations against him. But it would not have served the Globe's purpose. For example:

* Various "gay groups," the extremist Southern Poverty Law Center, and others are given the status of experts in the article in their attacks on Lively, but he isn't given the chance to answer their accusations or discuss their credentials.

* Lively's book The Pink Swastika, now in its fifth edition, is well written and very well-researched. But it is the bane of the homosexual movement because of the truth that it tells. Read more about it here. His other books are equally good. For Pastor Rick Warren to call Lively a "Holocaust denier" is absurd and stupid. Lively (and his
Orthodox Jewish co-author) have documented much of the Holocaust.

* The proposed Ugandan law that has liberals here in America so incensed proposed harsh punishments for those who knowingly expose people to AIDS and adults who seduce children or people with mental disabilities into homosexual sex acts. It's not far out of line with most people's sensibilities. But nevertheless, Lively did not propose the law; he simply told Ugandans his observations of the homosexual agenda.

* Lively's alleged "anti-gay rhetoric" is simply facts and discussion that the homosexual movement does not approve of. (In reality his approach is pro-humanity; he is full of compassion for those who have been drawn into homosexuality.)

Wow, who knew that the Southern Poverty Law Center, a group that was started to fight the Klan was a gay group? Thanks MassResistance for uncovering that one!

Pink Swastika...enough have already been written about this worthless and false piece of trash.

The Ugandan law..."It's not far out of line with most people's sensibilities." says MassResistance, interesting, because the Ugandan law authorizes the death penalty for gay people...very interesting and all the anti-gay rhetoric is "simply facts"...and MassResistance still wonders why it's a nationally recognized hate group!

MassResistance still believes that Scott Lively's opinions are considered mainstream! REALLY? Really?

Strangely, the entire MassResistance post, which has today's date, makes no mention of the convicted pedophile that managing Scott Lively's church.

Minister at Scott Lively's "Church" is a Convicted Sex Offender

You can't make this stuff up, hat tip to Joe.My.God:

A local man who served as manager of the Holy Grounds Coffee Shop on State Street -- a cafe operated by anti-gay pastor Scott Lively that serves free coffee and offers conversation to teenage visitors -- is a sex offender from New York who was imprisoned for the sexual abuse of a 10-year-old girl in 1995, according to police.

Police detectives on Thursday arrested Michael Frediani, 38, of 453 State St., for failing to register as a Level 2 sex offender in Springfield. He was living in an apartment above the coffee house.

He was being held at the Springfield police lock-up, said Sgt. John M. Delaney, a spokesman to Police Commissioner William J. Fitchet.

In New York, Frediani is listed as a Level 3 sex offender, defined as most likely to repeat an offense.

According to Joe.My.God, Scott Lively was offering students free coffee and hot chocolate if the kids wore Lively's Jesus pins.

Now I wonder if MassResistance will report on their friend since a convicted SEX offender who was a "volunteer" manager of a coffee shop that catered to kids? On a side note, Lively supposedly have agreed to not let students into the coffee shop during school hours, isn't that nice of him?

The money quote from Scott Lively's manager:

“I talk to all the kids,” Frediani said. “We have a place that is safe.”

“The presence of God is here right now,” Frediani said Friday. “I invite God to touch
them and he does.”

Boston Herald Sportswriter Comes Out

Boy, is MassResistance going to have a conniption over this, Steve Buckley, a writer for the Boston Herald, has come out, a sportswriter! Who's next?

Over the past couple of months I have discussed the coming-out process with my family and a few friends, and have had sit-downs with Herald editor-in-chief Joe Sciacca and sports editor Hank Hryniewicz, as well as with WEEI’s Glenn Ordway. They’ve been great, as have my friends and family.

But during this same period, I have read sobering stories about people who came undone, killing themselves after being outed. These tragic events helped guide me to the belief that if more people are able to be honest about who they are, ultimately fewer people will feel such devastating pressure.

It’s my hope that from now on I’ll be more involved. I’m not really sure what I mean by being “involved,” but this is a start: I’m gay.

Congratulations Steve! The more people keep coming out the harder it is for the anti-gay groups to demonize us since we are EVERYWHERE. H/T to Joe.My.God

Anti-Gay Scott Lively Tries to Reinvent Himself

Apparently, the anti-gay people in Massachusetts think we're all stupid.

Scott Lively, the guy who wrote the "Pink Swastika", was MassResistance's choice for Governor in last year's election and who spoke in Uganda in favor of the legislation that now advocates death for gay people said he's changed even though he's still preaching against homosexuality and says gay people are the reason American is in moral decline. From the Boston Globe:

He gained international attention after he was accused of stoking violence against gays in Uganda. One of his books, “Pink Swastika,’’ argues that Hitler and other Nazi leaders were gay. Another provides seven steps to “recruit-proof’’ your child from gay activists.

But Scott Lively says he is toning down his antigay rhetoric and shifting his focus to helping the downtrodden. And he’s found a home and a receptive audience in this struggling city where many, but not all, have embraced his mission to “re-Christianize Springfield.’’

Toning down his antigay rhetoric? How about trying to hide it.

After working for years as a conservative activist in California, he moved to Springfield, he said, at the invitation of Alexey Ledyaev, a Latvian pastor who offered him a position at his church, New Generation Christian Center. Gay rights groups have accused Ledyaev of fomenting antigay sentiment in the former Soviet Union. But Lively says he was inspired by Ledyaev’s call to “transform cities for Jesus.’’

And was anyone surprised when a HUGE group from Springfield showed up at the Massachusetts Constitutional Conventions made up of Russian immigrants.

The people of Massachusetts need to be aware of this man and his past.

MassResistance Started the Ball Rolling...

I came upon the following from a website called "The Right Perspective" which recycles MassResistance's post about Scott Brown:

Massachusetts Republican Senator, Scott Brown, took one more step out of the RINO closet last week, when he invited a notorious gay activist, and his “life mate,” to attend the ceremony repealing the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” legislation on gays in the military.

I guess they can't type husband, maybe they don't know how to spell it? And I guess "notorious gay activist" is same as MassResistance's "most vicious anti-family homosexual activist"

then it gets more interesting:

Many signatories of the popular legislation were attacked and harassed at their homes and work; others were threatened with being fired and shunned from local gatherings, reports MassResistance.

Lang has expanded his KnowThyNeighbor campaign to other states where efforts to put similar amendments on the ballot were conducted. He has also led many other violent attacks and instigated intimidation tactics against parents’ rights groups and churches, according to MassResistance.

Contrast that with what MassResistance originally posted:
As a result, many people who signed the marriage petition were harassed at their home and at work. People were threatened with loss of jobs. They were shunned at local gatherings. Some were attacked in newspaper articles. It was an act of intimidation on a huge scale, and was traumatic for all of us. Many people have now refuse[sic] to sign pro-family petitions at all because of this.

MassResistance appears to be making up all this stuff. Who was harassed? Who's jobs were threatened? There is at least one case where a signers of the petition physically attacked a Marriage Equality supporter.

What's this intimidation thing they speak of? MassResistance takes pride in their intimidation of GLBT people including children. For example look here, here, here, here and here.

The other issue is that these anti-bigots recycle the anti-gay stories and expand upon it without any proof. The Right Perceptive website now has people being attacked in their homes and at work because they signed the petition, BS! They also have the Knowthyneighbor founder leading violent attacks.

As no surprise the comments on this post at The Right Perspective are REALLY telling too:

Free Hal Turner says
Hal Turner sits in jail while this FAGGOT gets preferred treatment from a sitting Senator? FUCK the goddamn FAGGOT even looks like Hal.

and

FireFox says
Scott Brown is really a bi-sexual cocksucker who ran as an “independent”. Truth is, you cannot trust ANY of them in Congress! The whole idea of the bill putting queers, faggots and cocksuckers in the military is to destroy it! It’s that simple!

Fox News Mocks Anti-Gay Groups

In case you missed it, a Fox News show was talking about the upcoming CPAC Conference and how National Organization for Marriage, Family Research Council and the Concerned Women of American are going to boycott it because they're allowing a gay conservation organization to participate. It's delicious!

They even get in a dig about Porno Pete, it's hilarious! Hat tip to Joe.My.God.

MassResistance: Any Grasp of Reality?

It's a new year but MassResistance is using the same old methods to demonize, vilify and discredit gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender human beings. The good news is that the more they rant, more people are seeing them for what they really are, anti-gay bigots. Even the Mass Family Institute is starting to pick up pointers from them....

So for the New Year, here is MassResistance's "Guide to Becoming an Anti-Gay Hate Group":
  • Constantly describe you and group as "pro-family". If you don't, how is anyone to know that you are? If you don't state it at least 10 times you most likely are a homosexual activist.
  • Always put quotes around the words gay, husband, wife and marriage. For extra points, keep repeating that same sex unions are not legal in Massachusetts.
  • Recycle "news stories" from other anti-gay websites. There's no limit to how many times you can repeat a false gay story
  • Finally, link GLBT people to the Nazi's, maybe even write a book on it!
Learn from one of their recent posts, enjoy!
Sen. Scott Brown has done many things recently to publicly show his distain for the pro-family people who supported him. But this is probably the most personally offensive.

As the Boston Herald reported this week, Brown went out of his way to contact hardcore anti-family homosexual activist Tom Lang and give him (and his "husband") a personal invitation to the Obama's signing ceremony in Washington D.C. of the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" repeal. Lang had been part of the homosexual lobby's huge 10-month effort to persuade Brown to abandon his position against the repeal, and switch to supporting it. Brown apparently decided to reward him for his success...

A horrible anti-family homosexual activist

Lang is arguably the most vicious anti-family homosexual activist in Massachusetts.

Back in 2005 over 170,000 people signed petitions to get the Marriage Amendment on the ballot in Massachusetts. Soon afterwards Tom Lang and his "husband" Alex Westerhoff set up a website called KnowThyNeighbor. There they posted the names and addresses of all the signers and invited people to contact them and confront them. (They've also taken it nationwide, and have led similar efforts in Arkansas, Florida, Oregon, and Washington.)

As a result, many people who signed the marriage petition were harassed at their homes and at work. People were threatened with loss of jobs. They were shunned at local gatherings. Some were attacked in newspaper articles.

It was an act of intimidation on a huge scale, and was traumatic for all of us. Many people have now refuse to sign pro-family petitions at all because of this.

Since then, Lang and Westerhoff (who are "married") have continued their reign of anti-family terror. Their activities include:

I think you get the gist.

DADT is Repealed

And MassResistance is mad as hell and they ain't gonna take it anymore and as usual they equate gay people to Nazi's:

But we all know the truth. This isn't a political disagreement. Whether we like it or not, we are being subjugated by people with a destructive and dehumanizing worldview. From the politicians in Congress imposing "Don't Ask Don't Tell" down to the sex-ed activists in local public schools who terrorized David Parker over teaching homosexuality to his six-year-old son, these people have become obsessed with creating a kind of secular utiopia in one form or another which they have decided will make everyone's life better, and therefore it must be imposed on everyone who doesn't agree, for their own good.

In doing so, these people believe that the ends justify the means. They are willing to use any manner of lies or vicious tactics to win. It's not an exaggeration to say that anything they can get away with, they will do, and that constitutions, laws, and morality are meaningless to them. They see us as less than human and they see themselves as superior -- as we have all experienced countless times. In that respect they are similar to the Communists and even the Nazis --it's the same basic totalitarian mindset. And they've been winning in America for decades.

And on their blog they talk about the continuing "feminization" of the military:
Sexual tension in the ranks means the end of military discipline.

The U.S. military took its first step on the sexual slippery slope when it admitted women to the military academies in the mid-1970s. Later, women began serving on the frontlines (just one way Bill Clinton ensured the decline of our once proud military and kowtowed to the radical feminists). The denial of reality—that there was no new element of sexual tension acting as a distraction from discipline—began then.
This is the same drivel that Porno Pete over at the Americans for "Truth" about Homosexuality is spouting and they're even using the same made up word "homosexualize"

Not to be left out, Kris Mineau of the Mass "Family" Institute is steamed and blames Mass Senator Scott Brown (the same guy who Brian Camenker of MassResistance was proud to have his picture taken with)

What a great holiday season!

Mass Family Institute's Against Anything Gay

For all of Mass Family's Institute's saying that 'they're only concerned with homosexual marriage' they sure are doing a lot to stop anything the even remotely affects gay people.

Case in point: In their recent Commonwealth update they are advocating for boycotting Home Depot:
Will you boycott The Home Depot? I have!
In the same update they complain about the critically acclaimed movie 'The Kids Are Alright' and regurgitate the same phony statistics given out by the Family Research Council.

I think MFI is starting to give MassResistance some competition as the most anti-gay group in Massachusetts.

Anti-Gay Activists Want to Judge

The anti-gay zealots, Maggie Gallagher, Peter LaBarbera, Kris Mineau, Tony Perkins, etc... have been piling on the federal judge who ruled last week that Proposition 8 was unconstitutional. They even started BEFORE his ruling came out (because they knew how weak their case was). Because they can't refute the facts of the case they have been making personal attacks on the justice.

By far the biggest attack on him has been about his perceived sexual orientation. They claim that he is gay (or homosexual because they love to use the word SEX) and because of this fact he should have recused himself.

So I finally read an article that sums up the whole story really well. Here is a snippet from the Miami Herald:

According to this line of ``thinking,'' a homosexual may competently judge a traffic dispute or an assault charge, but not anything having to do with, well . . . being a homosexual. For that, you need a judge who is as straight as the crease in George Will's pants.

But there is a hole in that ``logic'' wide enough to dance the Rockettes through. Every individual is a compilation of culture, experience, opinions, emotions and personal biases, so every judge brings baggage to the table.

But we trust a judge to put that baggage aside and decide an issue on its merits. You don't ask him to recuse himself unless something he has said or done suggests a conflict of interest.

Walker's critics judge him biased not because of something he's said or done, but because of something he supposedly is. By that logic, we must consider every heterosexual judge who ever ruled against gay rights as biased. Indeed, that reasoning would require women judges to recuse themselves from cases with women plaintiffs, Jewish judges to abandon cases with Jewish defendants, white judges to leave cases tried by white lawyers.

Nor is that remote and abysmal possibility what's most offensive here. No, what truly rankles is the implicit suggestion that only straight people can fairly and dispassionately judge when and if gay men and lesbians should be granted equality -- and that straights have an unquestioned right to make that judgment.

You know they are getting desperate when the harshest critique they can give the judge is that "he's gay." What about the FACTS people?

MassResistance Successes

It's been a banner year for MassResistance.

    • Successfully got a Tea Party Rally in Lexington, MA cancelled because the other speakers didn't want to be associated with a nationally recognized hate group.
    • Put together a "Report" on Elena Kagan that will ensure that she will not be confirmed as a justice on the United States Supreme Court. The reports writers: Amy Contrada, Brian Camenker WITH Peter LaBarbera. This "report" was picked up by all the leading news organizations like One News Now and Life Style News. It's a page turner!
    • Successfully still provides a link to oust Safe School Czar Kevin Jennings two years after his appointment. (How's that petition working out for ya?)
    • Successfully held onto the title of Hate Group by the Southern Poverty Law Center for the 3rd year in a row!

The rest of the year looks like it is going to be even more successful too. MassResistance just posted about a write-in candidate for Governor and Lt. Governor. The biggest laugh in their story was this tidbit:

And Davis could actually win it!

And if Davis should receive MORE votes than Tisei, he would replace him and appear on the ballot in the November general election. This has actually happened twice in Massachusetts in recent years -- a write-in candidate beat a ballot candidate in a primary in state rep races, and both times that candidate went on to became the state rep. So this adds a level of excitement.

As the late Paul Harvey would say "And now for the rest of the story..." The two people that were write-ins and won were PRO marriage equality candidates. One of the two, Carl Sciortino, has been on MassResistance's radar ever since he got elected. MassResistance even tried to get his opponent elected and successfully failed BIG time.

Here's a toast to MassResistance to keep it going. The Commonwealth of Massachusetts needs you, and you make our jobs so much easier!

Scott Lively On the Daily Show

I've written before about this infamous "Christian". He claims that Hitler was a homosexual and even wrote the "Pink Swastika" about supposedly homosexuals in the Nazi party, a book that has been discredited by every legitimate historian yet MassResistance keeps using it as a prop at legislative hearings.

As a side note, Scott Lively's "ministry" is now based in Western Massachusetts and has also been named a hate group, like MassResistance, by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Here's the video from The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, it speaks for itself:

Mass Family Institute - Gay All the Time

Kris Mineau of the Mass Family Institute (MFI) has been making the rounds lately calling out the "activist judge" who ruled that sections of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was unconstitutional. It just so happens that Justice Joseph Tauro, or the "activist judge" as Mineau calls him was appointed to the Federal bench by Republican Richard Nixon and was a First Lieutenant in the United States Army.

I wonder if Kris Mineau knows that this "activist judge" became only the second judge to invoke The Adam Walsh Act of 2006 in which allows judges to indefinitely hold child sex offenders in jail if deemed a public danger.

Anyhow, while tooling around the MFI's website I happened on their July 20, 2010 update. Now, the subheading under their name says "Strengthening the family", however, the update was gay, gay gay. Every bullet was anti-gay, or dealt with homosexuality (because the anti-gay crowd love saying words with SEX in them):

Montana considers radical sex education curriculum
Senate JudiciaryCommittee approves Elena Kagan's nomination
Will SCOTUS let DC voteon marriage?
Get your marching orderson FRC's Special Military Webcast
Coverage of NOM's Summerfor Marriage Tour in New England
In ironic statement, Richard Tisei says "Let the people vote!"

I was going to change the link on the left side of the page to MFI but I can see that the Massachusetts Institute Against Gays still fits. They are not only concerned about same sex marriage but are making sure that GLBT Americans are not afforded the same rights as other Americans.

NOM Hate Tour Wants Small Turnouts

Hat tip to Joe.My.God for this story about how the National Organization for Marriage wants low turnouts for their bus tour so that they can use the video footage to claim that they are being outnumbered and threatened by those angry "homosexual activists". Joe posted a press release by the HRC:

"The bus tour is a total sham, plain and simple," said Fred Sainz, HRC's vice president of communications. "NOM's highly-touted bus tour is less about so-called 'traditional marriage' and more about creating an elaborate and cynical stunt. NOM rolled out a summer of nationwide events in order to draw lawful protesters, all so that NOM and its allies can pepper ongoing lawsuits challenging public disclosure laws with made-up stories of harassment. This unprecedented victimization crusade is the lowest denominator of political activism, and it won't fly."

In events in seven states, NOM has routinely played to crowds reportedly as small as two dozen people including NOM staff members. The organization's public statements on the bus tour have barely mentioned the content of the programs or the substance of its anti-LGBT message, instead focusing attention on much larger counter-protests that NOM has attacked as intimidation and harassment. NOM issued a press release last Friday saying that LGBT supporters have "approached and threatened children," engaged in "bullying tactics" and committed acts of harassment. However, NOM's uncorroborated claims belie legitimate local media reports demonstrating that pro-equality supporters, which have vastly outnumbered NOM's faithful, have been civil. NOM has yet to document any illegal activity or actual harassment, despite the presence of law enforcement at all the events.

NOM's efforts to trump up false claims of harassment are part of a radical nationwide plan to evade long-established public disclosure laws and to hide their political activities from legitimate scrutiny and accountability. In doing so, NOM has falsely alleged that their donors have been harassed and intimidated across the country to justify why it shouldn't have to play by the same rules as everyone else. These tactics have prompted a state ethics investigation in Maine and recent court defeats across
the country.

Of course there have been no arrests at any of the stops and all the ranting and raving has been done by NOM's leader Brian Brown who claims after the Providence stop that "their children were afraid" It's always all about the children.

However, even with the huge turnouts by the Marriage Equality supporters, there have been no signs like this:

I bet you won't find this picture on NOM's website!

Tea Party Rally Canceled Because of MassResistance's Presence!

This was supposed to be a post about the Tea Party Rally going on in Lexington this Sunday, supposed to be. I was going to write about all the conservative politicians attending along with the infamous leader of that nationally recognized hate group MassResistance, and, well, see for yourself:

Tea Party to rally on the Battle Green in Lexington

The rally, which will take place on Sunday, July 25, from 1 to 3 p.m., will include addresses by Jesse Segovia, the event organizer and chairman of the Lexington Republican Town Committee, WRKO Radio talk show host Todd Feinberg, and Brian Camenker, president of MassResistance, an organization that describes itself as a “pro-family action center for Massachusetts” and which opposes gay marriage.

Then there was this the next day:

Dahlberg backs out of Tea Party rally in Lexington

Eric Dahlberg, a Republican candidate for state Senate from the 3rd Middlesex District, has withdrawn from a Tea Party rally scheduled to take place in Lexington on Sunday after learning that Brian Camenker, president of MassResistance, would be speaking at the event.

“Some consider MassResistance a hate group,” Dahlberg said. “I don’t want to be within a mile of an event that gives someone like that a stage.”

Then, surprise, surprise, only hours later....

Lexington Tea Party rally canceled

Event organizer Jesse Segovia, chairman of the Lexington Republican Committee, said he “never gave a thought to uninviting Camenker,” whom he called a personal
friend.

According to Segovia, other speakers followed Dahlberg’s lead and began pulling out during the day on Thursday, prompting him to cancel the rally.

Isn't it great when Americans learn the truth about hate groups! Keep spreading the word.

MassResistance in the News...well, not the REAL news...

While I haven't been posting that much recently, I have been keeping an eye on the goings on over at that nationally recognized hate group MassResistance. The truth is that the public has really seen how whacked out they are and that the people in Massachusetts don't give them any mind, if they even know who they are.

So I've decided to start posting the news articles that feature MassResistance, there aren't that many and most of them are usually on some little know website like OneNewsNow (who is that you might ask?), that wbsite is affiliated with the AFA (American Family Association), but then again, the majority of people have never even heard of OneNewsNow either:

From the WorldNutDaily:

Critics fear Kagan would use bench to promote 'gays'

Mass Resistance contends, "Kagan's record while dean of Harvard Law School demonstrates her agreement with the goals of the radical ["gay," lesbian, bisexual and transgender] movement and her solidarity with those activists."

"Kagan's celebration and active promotion of the radical homosexualist and transgender worldview has profound implications," the group argues. "As a Supreme Court Justice, she could be expected to overturn traditional law and understandings of family, marriage, military order and even our God-given sex (what transgender radicals call "gender identity or expression"). She is a most dangerous nominee who must be opposed by all who care about religious freedom, the preservation of marriage and traditional values."

From LifeSiteNews:

10-Year-Old Boy Used as Grand Marshal of Arkansas Homosexual Fest

Brian Camenker, the leader of MassResistance, a pro-family group in Massachusetts, told LifeSiteNews.com that saying Phillips is being "indoctrinated" is "not a strong enough word."

"They are taking these kids who are in a very vulnerable and formative time in their lives, and basically telling them they're gay or what have you," he said, adding that "the kinds of things that go on in these parades ... are just really gross and hideous."

"Transexual, S&M, they're getting more into young kids," he said.

Camenker related the story of a MassResistance volunteer whose daughter similarly drew media attention when, after being pressured by the gay-straight alliance at her high school, declared that "she's a lesbian, hates her mother and father, [and] has this lesbian girlfriend."

"The gay newspapers of course wrote it up, because she was involved with us, and they were inviting her to be involved with the gay pride parade ... even the Boston Globe called her up to interview her," he said. Things changed, however, when the girl's mother removed her from the school and sent her to an out-of-state Christian school.

The girl is now preparing to marry her male fiancé in August, and, according to Camenker, dismisses her youthful flirtation with lesbianism.

"She wasn't lesbian any more than I was a lesbian," he said. "I think that happens with a lot of kids. So this is really dangerous."

Hmmm...not really sure what Brian meant by that last comment.

I guess they were also on NPR, I didn't hear them but my husband told me about it. Apparently, have them on NPR only increased their "cringe quotient" as everything MassResistance said on the air was crazy.

NOM rolls out the Hate Bus

The National Organization for Marriage is rolling through a state near you to "protect marriage" yet what exactly they doing to protect marriage is unclear. All they have done to "protect marriage" is to advocate discrimination against gay and lesbian couples and state that they're not bigots. They haven't done anything to actually protect marriage.

Of the millions of dollars they have raised have they ever directly helped the children they claim to protect? No. Have they reduced the divorce rate in any of the states that they claim victory for preventing marriage equality? No. (Massachusetts still has one of the lowest divorce rates in the country even after 6 years of marriage equality, what does THAT tell you?)

They held up a beauty queen as a model of God's work against marriage equality and then pushed her to the curb when it came out that "God's model" was doing some pornographic modeling of her own and sending sexting it off on her phone.

Maybe they should have started their tour in Argentina where that country just adopted marriage equality.
