How Sad

MassResistance is so disturbed they can't even tell what year it is (hmm...this seems to be happening quite a bit lately....)

I guess all the spinning around that Brian's doing it throwing him for a loop and today's neither Thursday OR July 28th.

Breaking News

The Massachusetts Legislature approved the repeal of the 1913 law by a roll call vote of 118 to 35. How is Brian Camenker and the other crony at MassResistance going to spin this one since it passed overwhelmingly?

BayWindows has more details here.

Now it goes to the Governor for his signature.

Is She Singing?

Things must be really bad over at MassResistance. It has been over a MONTH and they have not put anything new up on their blog (they still headline with their attack on the Governor and his daughter.)

Same sex couples in California have been getting married, the Mass Senate votes unanimously to repeal a racist 1913 law on marriage and Jesse Helms dies and not a peep. Macy's even had a huge display in their window for Gay Pride and nada.

I guess being named a Hate Group by the Southern Poverty Law Center was the final nail in their coffin.

Well, we'll still be watching and waiting.

Hold a Press Conference and the Press Doesn't Show up

That's what happened yesterday in Illinois. Porno Pete and his merry band of manly men held a press conference near a McDonald's to talk about their latest boycott (which will have no effect what so ever). Listen to his ranting:

So once again the major media are doing the work of the homosexual lobby. Many in the media have decided that the “gay” issue is settled, and the homosexual activists have won. (Remember when Big Media thought the abortion issue was pretty much over?) Yesterday’s non-coverage was appalling journalism, even by corrupt Chicago standards. Clearly, the boycott story is compelling — even from a pure business perspective: already, nearly 200,000 people have signed AFA’s boycott petition

Dammit, I MUST BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY, I'VE BEEN TO TOO MANY LEATHER OUTINGS TO NOT BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. He goes on to say that the people involved in the boycott are "good family people" not vegan (are they bad people now?) American hating leftists (Oh, only the right loves American as long as it's white, male dominated and Protestant) or some other fringe group (Petey, do you mean your group, the fringe right wackos who no news media wants to cover?) Denial, denial, denial.

But does this sound like anyone YOU know:

"I've never seen anything like that," Camenker exclaims. "Nobody, obviously, nobody wanted their name in front of this. Nobody was willing to get up and say anything," he continues. "You know, somebody could have at least called for a roll call vote. But it was...as cowardly as anything I've ever seen. This was completely choreographed by the gay movement," Camenker concludes. He adds that calling the process "sleazy doesn't even do it justice."

Wow, we're king of the WORLD! Who knew?

Oh Brian, about my post yesterday, your quote "nobody wanted their name in front of this" that is incorrect. Nobody wanted their name associated with NOT repealing the racist 1913 law. Get your facts heterosexual, er, I mean, straight (I guess I have to shut off the anti-OneNewsNow filter)

Cowardly = Unanimous?

Well, is it any surprise that MassResistance is SHOCKED, SHOCKED I tell you, that the Senate voted to repeal the racist 1913 law:
Mass. Senate repeals “1913 Law” to allow out-of-state gays to “marry” in MA using voice vote. Members too cowardly to go on record.

Uh, Brian, the Mass Senate voted unanimously to repeal this racist law...that means EVERYONE voted to repeal it. Let me repeat that, EVERYONE VOTED TO REPEAL THE 1913 LAW. How much more on the record is there?

I'm betting the real reason they're so pissed is that Brian Camenker only got "a few seconds" of air time by the local media.

One More Strike and You're Out!

Well it's looks like MassResistance is batting 0-2 so far this week.

First off, they sent an email out to their followers to "read the riot act" to the Massachusetts State senators to stop them from removing bigotry from the law. They even got Porno Pete to put a blurb on his Americans for Hate website with a link to the State Senate's email addresses (funny, MassResistance doesn't provide a link on their website to this page even though it can be found elsewhere on the MassResistance site...) Of course, the State Senate voted to repeal the racist 1913 law, so much for MassResistance bombarding the State House.

Secondly, the Massachusetts House voted for a MassHealth Equality Bill:

Malia filed the MassHealth Equality Bill, H.B. 4107, to remedy the fact that because MassHealth relies on federal as well as state funding, same-sex married couples, whose marriages are not recognized at the federal level, are not treated as spouses under the program, which can pose serious financial hardships for couples should one partner require long-term nursing home care, among other issues. If signed into law by Gov. Deval Patrick, it would require MassHealth to recognize the marriages of same-sex couples and have the state pick up the cost of services for those couples that are denied by the federal government.

Now the repeal of the 1913 law has to go to the House (which it's expected to do this week) and the MassHealth bill has to go to the Senate (no word on when).

Ooh, MassResistance has those legislators shaking in their boots now!

MassResistance Who?

That's essentially what Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick said at an open meeting in Hull. Yet, if you read MassResistance, they make it sound like the Gov. knows all about these anti gay activists:

The Governor beat around the bush a bit, but Kevin persisted. His Excellency finally said:
" . . . I don't know about MassResistance. If they have an attitude, then the chances are I'm not going to meet with them. But if they want to bring a view forward -- and people have and do -- then I'll meet with them. Sure."

Us? Have an attitude? MassResistance pleads: Guilty as charged.
Nevertheless, the next day we submitted a formal request to the Governor's staff
for a meeting. We're willing to be reasonable!

Actually, if you listen to what the Governor says, it sounds like he has never even heard of MassResistance. Go here to see the video.

I also wish I could be there when Governor Patrick finds out that MassResistance is named a Hate Group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. I know I already emailed the Governor's office.

BTW, MassResistance also makes it easier to email the Massachusetts Senate to tell them that MassResistance is a recognized hate group. You can get their email addresses here from MassResistance's website.

MassResistance Tries to Summon Anti-Gay Forces AGAIN!

So this is how bad it's gotten for MassResistance. Instead of "daily news from the Pro-Family Action Center in Massachusetts", they post news once it's printed in BayWindows or the Boston Globe:

As the final few weeks of the session wind down, the Massachusetts legislature has decided to resurrect the controversial attempt to repeal the "1913 Law" - which the homosexual lobby has been crusading for and which is one of their "goals" for 2008. Rumors had been swirling around in the "gay" press about this. Today it was on the front page of the Boston Globe.

The bill would destabilize the Massachusetts marriage laws (see details below). Currently no out-of-state couple can get "married" in Massachusetts if that marriage would not be legal in their home state. This would overturn that law (passed by several states in 1913) and allow any homosexual couple in America to get "married" here - and cause havoc in their home states. (It would also cause Massachusetts to be a "gay marriage" capital of the world. If you think "gay pride week" was bad, imagine seeing it all year around.)

"It would also cause Massachusetts to be a "gay marriage" capital of the world" YEAH, because Massachusetts is SO MUCH more worldly than say the COUNTRY OF CANADA or SPAIN. I mean really, I love Massachusetts, but even I don't think Massachusetts is the center of the world. Uh, Brian, in case you haven't heard the news, California is marrying couples from anywhere in the country. (I should also point out that MassResistance is also stealing this quote from Mitt Romney who didn't want Massachusetts to become the Las Vegas for gay weddings.)

They even include an Action Alert and want their readers to harass the legislators even if they're not from Massachusetts. They tried the same thing with the Massachusetts budget and it didn't work then either, in fact, the Mass Senate gave money to at risk youth more funds than originally intended, so Thank You MassResistance, another success!

Today's MassResistance Quotation Count: A whopping 20!

Bette Davis Said it Best

On this occasion I would like to paraphrase Bette Davis:

You should never say bad things about the dead, you should only say good . . . Jesse Helms is dead. Good.

Jesse Helms will always be remembered for being a racist and a homophobe. Pam's House Blend covers his legacy here.

MassResistance's a Year Early On This One

The anti-gay activists over at MassResistance have finally gotten around to posting their pictures of Boston Pride (yes, they finally got the geography right for a second):

But wait, what's this at the top of the page:

Geez, first they couldn't figure out that Northampton was different than Boston and now they don't even know the days of the week (Thursday is July 3rd and Friday is July 4th Brian). Doh!

Instead of tracking LGBT people I think the duo at MassResistance need to go back to school, only keep them away from the other students, they like to take too many photographs of them.

As for their report, well, there's really no need to head over there unless you want to see some pictures of happy people enjoying themselves and if you missed Pride you can get some sense of the parade although they seem to leave out all the religious and political groups that also were in the parade (which seems to make up the largest portion of the Boston Pride parades).

And no, contrary to popular belief, there were no sightings of MassResistance's Amy Contrada marching with the PFLAG group. She's still in denial.

Quotation count for MassResistance's latest Rant: 10

Note: They had this to say about a group in the Parade:

Then came . . . well . . . these men. Who knows - maybe they're high school teachers or State House staff members during the week. Very disturbed people.

And the men they were referring to...Yeah, they're ACTORS and they were performing that weekend at Club Cafe. The troupe's name is "Fresh Fruit". MassResistance once again proves that they're CLUELESS.

UPDATE: Someone over at MassResistance must have gotten the memo since they have now changed the title on their site to Friday, July 4. They must have finally looked at the calendar or read this blog.
