Sell Your Soul for Hatred

Some of the readers here have been forwarding me "updates" from Article 8 and Mass "Family" institute. The first thing the emails say is:

Help by Donating!

Please consider a tax deductible gift today to help MFI continue to work for the families of Massachusetts

Right off the bat they are looking for money. I didn't realize that MFI is a non-profit. If there are people out there in the know, please get me information on how we can find out who is supporting this anti-gay anti-family group since donations must be made public. I find it hard to believe that a group which discriminates so blatantly can be a non-profit.

Anyway, back to the email updates (from Article 8):

Playing hardball: Lexington, MA superintendent refuses to relent on order keeping parent David Parker off school property! Last week, David Parker's son's first grade class held "Back to School" night. Parents were invited to come to class, and the kids would show their parents their desks, their projects, their drawings.
And the parents would get to talk to the teacher and other parents and kids. It's always a cherished time.

But David Parker couldn't go. Even though his son asked him to come. The town of Lexington continues to impose a heinous "no-trespass" order against David Parker. Superintendent Paul Ash could lift this order in a minute. But he refuses to do so. Thus, if David Parker sets foot on any school property, he could be arrested. He can't attend any school functions, pick up his son, attend school committee meetings, or even vote on election day.

Parker represents absolutely no danger to anyone, and no one suggests he does. This is being done as an instrument of intimidation -- against Parker and anyone else who might want to do what he did. Last April 27, David Parker demanded that he be notified if any adult discussed homosexuality or transgenderism with his 6-year-old in the elementary school. The school's reaction was to handcuff and arrest him. And the local gay activists continue to attack him in the press and elsewhere. Parker is standing tall, but this is utterly outrageous. Lexington Supt. Paul Ash's refusal to even discuss lifting this ban represents the worst arrogance we can imagine.
Is this America any more?

Can you hear all the violins playing for Parker? As my mother used to say "You made your bed, now you have to lie in it" For the hundredth time, David Parker was arrested because he refused to leave the school grounds after school administrators and the police told him to leave. HE REFUSED. Why don't you, David Parker, explain to your child that you broke the law and you have to pay the price? And to answer Article 8's question: YES, this is America, where it says LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL, not just you.

I have more to write but their ignorance and hatred just wears me out. This sounds like he's not any danger to anyone:

"Parents stand your ground! Don't return their hate and intolerance when fired upon, But if they mean to have a war over our parental rights, Battling for the hearts and minds of our children, Then let it begin here."

Want Some Cheese with that Whine?

This Tuesday, August 2, 2005, David Parker will again be in a Concord courthouse to refute the trespassing charges against him. In an interesting piece of propaganda, Parker's attorney, Neil S. Tassel, wrote a guest commentary for the Lexington Minuteman. While on one hand he says that he wants to "clarify numerous inaccuracies" he instead creates new ones:
First of all, Mr. Parker does not hate homosexuals or their families. In fact he is an exceptionally kind hearted man, who is anguished that his arrest has caused any pain to this community.
I guess we are supposed to forget that he planned his arrest and refused to leave the school until the police arrested him. Additionally, because of his arrest, he has been using his "martyr" status around the country by going onto Fox News and appearing at several road shows in Maine to get the state to remove protections for gays and lesbians.
...Many might be interested to learn that Mr. Parker's view of homosexuality resulted in-part from the illness contacted by his best friend who was gay. When Parker observed signs of his friend's illness, he urged him to obtain medical care and personally underwent a preventative series of gamma-globulin shots, so that he too, would not be overcome by hepatitis. The illness of his friend had a profound effect on Mr. Parker's beliefs.
We are supposed to excuse his behavior because of this? This is a new tactic, his views of homosexuality were based on his friend's illness. Sounds to me like the "gay panic" defense. What was Mr. Parker doing with his roommate that made himself concerned that he was also going to contract hepatitis? My guess is NOTHING so if he is so smart (the attorney says he has a Ph.D) then he would have known that he was really at no risk for contracting Hepatitis. From the National Center for infectious Diseases:

Hepatitis A Virus (HAV) Hepatitis A virus is spread from person to person by putting something in the mouth that has been contaminated with the stool of a person with hepatitis A. This type of transmission is called "fecal-oral." Most infections result from contact with a household member or sex partner who is infected with HAV. Casual contact, as in the usual office, factory, or school setting, does not spread the virus.

Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) HBV is spread when blood or body fluids from an infected person enters the body of a person who is not infected. For example, HBV is spread through having sex with an infected person without using a condom (the efficacy of latex condoms in preventing infection with HBV is unknown, but their proper use might reduce transmission), by sharing
drugs, needles, or "works" when "shooting" drugs, through needlesticks or sharps exposures on the job, or from an infected mother to her baby during birth.

Hepatitis C Virus (HCV)HCV is spread when blood or body fluids from an infected person enters the body of a person who is not infected. This could happen through sharing needles or "works" when "shooting" drugs, through needlesticks or sharps exposures on the job, or from an infected mother to her baby during birth.

He goes on:
Second, Mr. Parker is not against a book. This commonly heard misconception is both rampant and untrue. The book sent home with their son simply spurred the Parkers into action. To label the Parkers as "book haters" is to try to portray them as book burning extremists which is being done for apparent political gain.
It's funny that Article 8, who does most of the talking for Parker and who's leader, Brian Camenker, appeared with Parker on Fox News takes issue with this point. See their website. I have also read a lot about this issue and I never read or heard anyone call the Parkers book burners. It sounds like the attorney is trying to draw sympathy for David Parker.
The Parkers' proposal was simple: notify them in advance if there is a planned discussion about same-sex issues, and, if an adult becomes involved in a discussion spontaneously begun by a child, then remove their child from the discussion. Their concern is that impressionable children will hear for the first time from a respected adult that a homosexual headed family is a normal family structure, and an equally "good" one at that. Regardless of whether one agrees with that premise, it is a matter of one's values and beliefs. It is not borne in hate, but in a concern for his children and a desire to see them equipped to make decisions in a healthy manner.
I guess the Parkers would not want a "respected adult" who is gay to teach their child either? Will they want their own background checks to make sure that the teachers are heterosexual? Wouldn't this rationale which they are advocating also allow people who didn't want they children to learn about African-American or Jewish families to be removed from the classroom discussion? How about those people that believe that the holocaust didn't exist, should those families be able to remove their children from all discussions of the hate caused by Hitler?

All in all, it's a feeble attempt of Parker's attorney to try and generate sympathy for a man that has used his arrest to fuel hatred around the country. If Parker cared so much about the pain he had caused he never would have allowed Article 8 to parade his picture around and go on the road shows in Maine touting his "civil disobedience". Clearly he is a man of principles, misguided ones.

Who's Lying Now?

When the whole "David Parker Incident" happened one of the lingering questions was "How is David Parker connected to Article 8?" Article 8 was there at the school when Mad Dad was arrested, followed him to the police station (even took pictures of him) and then was at the court that morning. Brian Camenker appeared on FoxNews with Mad Dad and even organized the rallies at the court house and the Lexington Green. So how was Parker associated with Article 8?
I wrote this is June:
Amazingly, David Parker is still saying that he isn't in cahoots with Article 8 even though Article 8 sponsored the rally, he appeared on Fox News with Brian Camenker, called Article 8 when he was ready to be arrested by the Lexington Police and Article 8 has all the emails and correspondence that David Parker exchanged with the Lexington School System. (Is it me or does it seem like David Parker doesn't do anything without Brian Camenker/Article 8?)
BTW, the spin from the anti-gay side is that the state considers Parker innocent because they are not proceeding with the case. (I'm sure Parker's lawyer's defense was to keep putting it off running up costs to the DA's office) However, if Parker acts up just one more time in a year...well...we'll see.... Anyhow, just days after all of this occurs look what the Agape Press
posts:
Brian Camenker of the pro-family activist group Article 8 Alliance, a supporter and spokesman for Parker, says although the Lexington parent agreed to pre-trial probation, this outcome represents a caving in on the part of the District Attorney.
Hmm...who was it on David Parker's side (including himself) who said they weren't being represented by Article 8?

Tell Me Lies, Tell Me Sweet Little Lies

Article Hate sent out another weekly update last night. This one only had one topic:

Lexington superintendent lifts ban against David Parker!
(But continues order against parental notification.)
However, Camenker/Article Hate are still in denial over the whole incident. He makes several obvious errors in the piece. He is still repeating the mantra that Mad Dad was arrested because of "his insistence that he be notified when adults discuss homosexuality or transgenderism with his 6-year-old kindergartner" and not the truth, which is Mad Dad was arrested because he willfully refused to leave the school grounds even after police showed up. The update also says:

But on October 20, the Middlesex County District Attorney decided not to pursue the case, and Parker is completely clear of any wrongdoing.
Which is completely untrue. On October 27, 2005 the truth was published in the Boston Globe:

Judge Robert McKenna accepted the deal last Thursday that Parker's lawyers and the Middlesex district attorney's office worked out in advance. Under that agreement, Parker will be under pretrial probation for a year, after which time the single count of trespassing will be dropped so long as he does not violate any laws.
He was not cleared of anything, yet. Additionally, now that the restraining order is lifted he has to be even more careful. What do you think is going to happen to him if he does something else at the schoo? He's on probation now for a year, does that sound like he is "completely clear of any wrongdoing"? Article Hate continues:

Nevertheless, this is a move that is sure to anger the already enraged local homosexual activists, who have put great energy into publicly demonizing Parker and his family, and actually formed an organization dedicated to opposing him and his efforts to get parental notification. One of their goals has been that Parker never be allowed to return to any school building. On the other hand, thousands of supporters of Parker in Lexington, across Massachusetts, and around the country have bristled at the obvious punitive nature of the ban against him that seemed no more than a way to intimidate other parents from challenging that agenda in the schools.
I would love for someone to show me where the Lexington Cares Group lists "as one of their goals" to have Parker forever banned from the School? Anybody? McFly? Finally, Article Hate posts the letter that the superintendent sent to Parker (Does Parker value any privacy?) and continues to attack the Lexington Superintendent.

This whole letter just screams "We're broke because we're on the wrong side of history and we need money to pay our bills so send us money" We're still looking into the fact that Article Hate says they are nonprofit. If they are, they are supposed to send in a lot of information to the State including who donates to them and how their money is spent. This will be very interesting...stay tuned.

The Postman Rings Twice

There are a whole bunch of "Letters to the Editor" in this weeks Lexington Minuteman all responding to either David Parker's hearing last week on trespassing charges or letters that were in the Minuteman last week. I wanted to highlight a couple that I thought were outstanding.

Robert Schineider actually went to the Concord Court house last week to witness the hearing. He wrote:
On Aug. 2, my wife and I went to the Concord District Court House to follow the trespassing hearing of David Parker. When we arrived we were greeted by more than 20 Parker supporters holding professionally printed signs that said things like, "No Trespassing on Parental Rights!" Some also held signs that read, "David Parker jailed for being Christian" and "Sue the Lexington Public Schools, Chapter 71, Section 32A." The only David Parker supporters from Lexington that I recognized were: Lorraine Fournier, Jed Snyder, Jesse Segovia and Iang Jeon. Certainly there may have been a few more. I do know that at least one of his supporters was from Carlisle, another from as far away as Western Mass., and of course Brian Camenker of Newton representing his Article 8 Alliance.
Hmm...Article 8 was touting all the people who were there to support Parker and now we find out that only a few, 4 in fact were actually from Lexington. Schineider makes a very good point:
Therefore such a discussion must be the same as "human sexual education or human sexuality issues." By this logic, any picture of a mom and a dad, or discussion of a mom and dad must also fall into this same category, since, in most cases, sex is involved when a heterosexual couple have children.
Another writer, Vicky Parker (who I believe is no relation to David Parker), writes:
I am sure that Mr. Parker is not the only parent who has been frustrated in obtaining what they believed would be right and healthy for their children from the Lexington Public Schools. If each of those other parents refused to leave meetings with school officials unless physically removed from the building, our police force would be very busy. Some parents have pursued their grievances with the schools through legal channels. Other parents have made the decision, at great cost, to enroll their children in private schools that more fully meet their needs.
You know, it's amazing when cool minded people actually think about the situation they can act rationally and without causing a disturbance. David Parker on the other hand is getting everything he wanted, except for the Town of Lexington to cave into his demands.

Will Parker Plead Insanity Next?

David Parker and his attorneys were in the Concord Courthouse for all of ten minutes today. He will get a jury trial starting on September 21st. Parker still refuses to admit to what he did and insists he has done nothing wrong. (I guess holding up in a school and telling school officials and police that he wasn't leaving until he was arrested is nothing wrong)

Article 8 has their version of today's events on their site. Their opening paragraph:
People still cannot believe that this can happen in America. A father of a six-year-old on trial for criminal charges, having spent the night in jail over homosexuality in his son's kindergarten class.
David Parker DID NOT go to jail because of homosexuality or a book or a fax. He went to jail because he refused to leave the school after being asked to leave by school administrators and finally the police. HE chose to stay, HE could have been released on his own recognizance but HE chose to stay over night in jail. These people are always talking about choice but they refuse to acknowledge the choice David Parker made. If the judge keeps to the facts of the case then the case is about David Parker trespassing in the school and nothing else.
As Parker's son prepares to enter first grade this fall, the town of Lexington refuses to relent on their ban of Parker from all school property.
They continuously use Parker's son as a pawn in this whole affair. They talk a lot about "the children" when in fact they could care less about children. If he's cares so much about his son's welfare then he should send him to a private school.

Look at how serious they are taking this whole thing, some of them are dressing up in costume (half way down on their site). Did they conveniently forget that John Adams was a Unitarian? At the 1996 General Assembly of the UU, delegates voted overwhelmingly to call for the legalization of same-sex marriage. The Unitarian Universalist Association has a long-standing and deeply held commitment to support full equality for bisexual, gay, lesbian, and transgender people, going back 33 years to 1970. (No one said that Article 8 was bright)

Live Blogging of Massresistance's Comeback Radio Show

I will try to blog live the Massresistance Radio Show which is being played live on 1330 AM. Right now there is another show going on. Because of my poor language skills I'm not sure what language it is, it sounds like Portuguese but I'm not sure.

There's a short announcement at the beginning at the beginning that it's a paid program and do not represent the opinions station WRCR. Brian has a new costar, some guy named Jeff.

Amy's not on because she's "researching" the Laramie Project in Wyoming. Brian is spouting lies about the play "The Laramie Project". He should team up with Fred Phelps since he doesn't like it either. Brian would like to get the play removed from high schools because of it's violent content.

NEWS!!!! Mad Dad Parker AND C.J. Doyle are going to be on!!!!! (See yesterday's post)

Brian's partner is a guy named Ari (sp?) who apparently does speaking engagements for Massresistance on transgender issues, who knew he was an expert?

They are afraid of the spread of "transgenderism" and desensitizing the public about it. Brian notes that no one else talks about it like they do. Ari and Brian are laughing about gender neutral bathrooms. Brian wants someone to do something about it.

Ari doesn't know what gender neutral means and has problems deciding whether he could use the bathroom or not. Because they record their program they have no comment on Emerson College's move to make their bathrooms gender neutral.

Brian's misrepresenting the nominee for the Mass SJC by saying that she donated money to Gov. Patrick.

Mad Dad Parker is Next!

Brian recounting Mad Dad Parker's arrest because "he was there", doesn't mention that he was snapping pictures of the event. Mad Dad Parker is present in the studio himself (must be taking a break between PR and Chicago). Brian can't believe that a "human being let alone a judge" would write what the judge wrote when he dismissed Parker's federal case. Brian doesn't like that GLSEN and PFlag filed briefs against Parker's appeal.

David Parker is now an expert on transgender issues. "It's all a lie"

Brian thinks the next step for the "homosexual movement" is for to dress like women because they already act like women.

Brian is upset that GLAD is "pushing the envelop" for GLBT people. Parker wants to know what a GLBT family is. I guess he hasn't seen Rosie O'Donnell's family. Brian says that we want to change the definition of family. Brian says this is really "frightening stuff" (he has already used "chilling" at least once.)

Halfway mark: Everyone is "God blessing everyone else" There are no commercials on this show because they are buying the airtime.

C.J. Doyle is on!!!

C.J. is talking about the marriage vote in June and bringing up some story about the Knights of Columbus (this is very old news) upset at the those "Knights" in the Mass. Legislature voting to uphold the MA SJC's decision. C.J. is calling House Leader DeMasi a "defector" from the Catholic Church. Interesting in listening to C.J. talk in that he uses the terms "same sex or same gender" marriage and not "homosexual" marriage (which Brian uses).

CJ wants the Knights of Columbus to rise up and get rid of the Mass Legislators. He wants people who know Knights to call them and tell them to get rid of them. (CJ talks VERY fast likes he's had 5 grandes from StarBucks with extra shots of espresso.)

Brian uses the term "Oh Boy" that's a change from the "Oh Man" which he has made so popular.

Breaktime: Again no sponsors so just some electronic music. BTW, they are not using the widely poplar music at the beginning of their show. I'm guessing it was WTTT's music and they couldn't take it with them.

Their last segment they are talking about the ADL and the "No Place for Hate" Campaign. Brian thinks ADL is inventing things because there is no overt discrimination anymore (he gave examples of Jews being discriminated against when he was younger) Brian thinks that kids put swastika's on things to get attention from higher ups likes Mayors. Brian said he would have done it too to get attention (wow! that's scary)

Ah, now we get to the heart of the hate for ADL, it's because of their collaboration with MassEquality and other "liberal mindsets" Ari just called Rush Limbaugh "The GREAT Rush Limbaugh" I wonder what Ari thinks of doctor shopping for prescription drugs.

Ari talking about the "homosexuals" manufacturing issues like bullying.

The show's over. Some announcer is telling people where to send money to listen.

Another announcement that the view of the following program do not represent the station, the station's staff or the company who owns the station, pretty explicit that they want nothing to do with Massresistance's anti-gay views.

Trespasser Is As Trespasser Does

Article 8 is once again speaking for David Parker. In their latest rant, Article 8/Brian Camenker, make several unbelievable statements:

And it was clear that the judge was annoyed that Parker was willing to stand up for principle and not cooperate with a plea-bargain.
Article 8 is clearly clairvoyant. Apparently they have the ability to read people's minds (since they can easily read the judge's mind in this case). I guess they have totally dismissed the notion that the judge was annoyed because of the media circus that Article 8, Camenker & Parker created over this whole thing.
Parker is adamant that he has not done anything wrong and is willing to direct his attorneys to contest the charge rather than give in to pressure to plea-bargain.
Yet trespassing is what he did. The Boston Herald reported:

Parker refused to leave the grounds and was charged with trespassing.

Trespassing, said his attorney, is a bogus charge since it was an act of civil disobedience."

He is a man of principle," attorney Jeffrey Denner said of Parker.

So the police call it trespassing and he & his lawyers call it civil disobedience, I think it's up to the judge to decide. Besides, if he is such a brave soul, speaking out for the little people, why doesn't he take everything that comes with civil disobedience? He could have left the school when the police came, but he chose not to (instead he called people on his mobile phone) He could have left the police station that night but he wanted to stay in jail (why would someone WANT to stay in jail?) From the Boston Globe:
Parker, who refused to bail himself out of jail Wednesday night, said he spent the night in custody to prove a point.
Note to Mr. Parker: Take your kid out of public school if you don't like what they teach or move to another state. I'm sure the people in the south didn't like their children next to the colored children neither. You are in good company sir!

The next session before a judge is August 2th @ 9:00 am. Try to catch it, it could be a hoot!

If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, its a duck

David Parker, the man who wouldn't leave a Lexington School unless police arrested him, is now on a "tour" of Maine along with Article 8's Brian Camenker (this is the group and the man that David Parker says he has nothing to do with!).

Parker said he has no affiliation with any of the many groups which have taken on his cause. He said he shares a certain "unity of purpose" with the Article 8 Alliance and Lexington Parents for Respect, but is not a member.

"There's a degree of association, but they do not speak for me," said Parker.

According to MaineToday.com, David Parker is going to "tour" the state of Maine with the group Coalition for Marriage to gather signatures to "veto" homosexual rights in Maine. The group says:

David Parker is only one of many who have been arrested for questioning the hidden agenda of the homosexual rights movement - and this is only the calm before the storm. The jailing of David Parker and Michael Macarvage and many others are just the first drops of rain in a gathering storm. When homosexuals succeed in their effort to gain absolute power, they will vent their fury on men of God with all the rage of the crowd gathered outside Abraham's door in Sodom and Gomorrah.
Now this is the same man (Parker) who said at the hearing that he does not object to the mention of same-sex families or any similar content but wants to have notification of when such topics will come up in the classroom on a formal basis.
He also said: "I feel for them because they think I'm trying to move between them and their children," he said, adding respect is taught in his house with his children explicitly instructed not to denigrate children from families different from their own. "It hurts me that they're hurt."

and yet he is touring Maine to make sure that those same families have no rights and are stripped of what little rights they may already have. David, it sure sounds like you are hurting because of all the damage you are causing to other families.

Fallout From Fabricated Massresistance/Article 8 Press Release

The Boston Globe documents the harassment and intimidation tactics that Massresistance/Article 8 has forced upon Lexington by issuing a deceptive and fabricated press release:

Paul Ash , 56, the new superintendent of schools, said news of the playground fight posted on blogs intensified the attacks. The conservative group's press release accused school officials and other adults of inciting students to fight, and claimed the spat was timed to coincide with the anniversary of the legalization of gay marriage. Then, a blogger posted Ash's phone numbers and e-mail address.

At 4 a.m. on June 18, a man from Japan called Ash's home and angrily asked why the school was beating up children. The phone rang until Ash took it off the hook.

By the next day, his e-mail box was clogged with nearly 400 messages, and his work voicemail filled with vitriolic messages.

In addition to the threats and intimidation which Massresistance/Article 8 is always accusing other of doing, they also say that people that don't agree with them post lies and deception. Well, here's a sample of what David Parker had to say in the Globe article:

Sitting on his living room couch, Parker denied that he is being used by anyone. But in retrospect, he acknowledged there was no evidence that an adult had directly incited students to bully his son.

He is worried that adults who criticize his views against homosexuality might have led some children to not want to play with his son or to pick on him.

"Are parents and administrators telling little children to get [my son] on the playground because of his father's beliefs? No, I doubt it," Parker said, but added: "You have children being exposed to the notion that this guy, or this family, is wrong and maybe is a bad guy. That can influence their actions."

Two interesting issues here which are all David Parker's doings:
  • Where is the Press Release from Massresistance/Article 8 saying that there is no evidence that this was caused by adults? As of last night Massresistance/Article 8 still had on its home page links to "A child beaten because of gay marriage"
  • He's worried that adults might not want their child to play with his children! Look what happens when a friend of their child has a disagreement with his child, a national circus. Does any parent want their child to go through what David Parker/Massresistance/Article 8 has put everyone through? It's a scary thought to think that your child's friend's parents are going to make a national scene over some disagreement because the kids.

Parker seems to not accept the consequences of his actions. Obviously he wasn't thinking of his child when he chose to stay in jail or link up with Brian Camenker. This IS a parent's right issue and parents reserve the right to not have their children associate with people who do not share their values including the Parker's narrow definition of family.

Somehow I don't believe the author of the article knows the depths that Massresistance/Article 8 has gone through to push its anti-gay agenda.

Still Out From Under the Rock...

Well, many readers have been wondering "Where is David Parker?" "Why hasn't Article 8 posted any new news on Parker?" or "Is Mad Dad still Mad?". Don't fret dear readers, Mad Dad is still around. He is supposed to be going to court this Thursday. Tonight he is appearing at an Article 8 fundraiser in Marlborough, MA. Wouldn't you like to be a fly on the wall at that "event".

Additionally, ABCnews was around Lexington getting some footage and doing some interviews. Article 8 reports on this in one of their weekly emails:

=== 3. David Parker (and Brian Camenker) on national ABC Evening News this week - before Thursday - see Article 8 website. ===
As we mentioned in our last email, the horrific
David Parker incident has shocked people across the country. Last week, the ABC Evening News came and filmed David Parker, Article 8 President Brian Camenker, Lexington Superintendent Paul Ash and of course, a local homosexual activist.

When will it be on? On Friday, the producer told us that it will definitely be on BEFORE this Thursday -- the date of the start of Parker's trial. So that means Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. We'll be in touch with ABC News every day to find out -- and as soon as we know we'll post it on www.Article8.org.

Can you see the producer at ABCnews banging his head against the wall at these people. "HE'S CALLING ME AGAIN!" I can't wait to see (if they ever air it) how they come off. If you've ever seen their bit on Foxnews, they are hilarious! It seems its all about getting on TV before his next scheduled court date.

Note: I guess it also doesn't matter to the readers of Article 8's updates that the "homosexual activist" is actually a heterosexual woman, but then again, do they really care about the truth?

I also got an interesting email from a reader who sent me this interesting post on David Parker. It's a funny read.

Article 8 Once AGAIN Speaks for Parker

In today's Lexington Minuteman, Article 8 leader, Brian Camenker tries to blame the outrage over this prejudicial father's [Parker] actions on a "relatively small but very vocal minority". Apparently, this "small minority" created a "tidal wave" of calls to TV stations, radio stations, letters, signs, etc... Which has made Camenker envious, since that is what he and his very small band of Article 8 followers (and lone Massresister) has been trying to do for years.

Here's a breakdown of what he claims in the paper:

But instead, a relatively small but very vocal (and angry) group of people has undertaken a campaign of hysteria, lies, fear, and intimidation to discredit and demonize David Parker, his family, and anyone associated with him, including other parents who came to his side, Pastor Jed Snyder of Countryside Bible Chapel, and my group, Article 8 Alliance. There's been a tidal wave of letters to the editor, signs, op-ed articles, calls to talk shows, TV stations, and even calls to the Parker home.

In reality:

Camenker:

Speaking of "hate group" tactics: A few Sundays ago the "tolerant" Lexington Cares people picketed outside a church in Wayland because it had the nerve to host an event to support David Parker. Isn't that exactly what the Kansas people did?
Reality:

Camenker:

It gets ludicrous. In a letter to the Minuteman, Juli Davidson said our Web site contains "hateful rhetoric" which she quoted as: "... jackbooted thugs currently in control in Lexington." Nothing like that was ever on our Web site. But why let facts get in the way? (Actually, that's on the MassResistance blog. But come on. Hateful rhetoric? Lighten up a bit! After all, they love calling us Nazis.)
Reality:

Camenker:

I had worked with these kinds of situations in Newton, so last January David called me for some advice. He needed some support, especially since so much of this emanates from national groups. Article 8 Alliance agreed to work with him.

Reality:

Camenker:

It's unfortunate for Lexington that the "Lexington Cares" bunch can't defend their position, so they resort to hysterical ad hominem attacks and other intimidation devices. It's a truly disgusting tactic. They are destroying the reputations of decent people who simply insist on sticking to their own beliefs. Good people must not let this happen.

Just read the posts on this blog. Do a yahoo or google search of Massresistance and Article 8 for yourself. See their websites. Read through the hateful things Article 8 and Massresistance has been doing to innocent law abiding people of this Commonwealth and judge for yourself. Brian Camenker's letter in the Lexington Minuteman is simply DISGUSTING.

"Huge" Rally for David Parker?

Well, the rally for David Parker, the man who refused to leave the elementary school until the police arrested him, was held this past Sunday in Wayland. Apparently all the people who were coming out to "support" Parker didn't quite make it to the church on time. About 100 followers of Brian Camenker and Article 8 did make it though to hear the "great speakers" (two of which were Brian Camenker and David Parker). More on the other speakers later!

Pictures of the rally can be seen here on Article 8's website. (I won't stoop to the level of Massresitance and ridicule the people in the photos)

It seems that Article 8 was laying low since their sister group, Fred Phelp's Westboro Baptist Church (WBC), was also in the area. I'm guessing the people who didn't make it to Wayland were with Fred since both WBC and Article 8/Massresistance have the same supporters. No one in the media even bothered to cover the "rally" so I'm sure Article 8 was disappointed and we can expect Massresistance to exclaim that the liberal media isn't covering the news.

On a side note, a quiet group from Lexington called Lexington Cares held a silent protest at the church. Thank God for these people who are willing to witness the hate that is occurring in our own state. Even though Article 8 is a small fringe group it is still important for them to know that we are witnessing their actions.

Do Ya Think They Read This Blog?

Well, as expected, after Tuesday's post about MassResistance not posting anything for 2 weeks they finally updated their website yesterday on Thursday (regardless of what the date on their website says).

Their new headline reads like a 1950's Communist horror film:
David Parker's appeal of federal Civil Rights case to take place next Wednesday, Dec. 5, in Boston. Oral arguments before 3-judge panel.

Major national homosexual groups and others file amicus briefs in opposition!

Unprecedented effort by state and national organizations to stop parents' rights in schools. . .

And inside you can read their "press release" with their obligatory 2 years or so old picture of David Parker in handcuffs (which they themselves took to use for this very reason). They are setting themselves up for a BIG fall. Take a gander at their love of wild hyperbole:
  • This is unprecedented in any case involving parents challenging the homosexual agenda in public schools.
  • Over the last two and a half years this case has received national and even international notoriety.
  • It is unquestionably not an ordinary civil rights case; it clearly has national implications. And the homosexual movement understands the danger this represents to their cause.

And then they post this:

This case clearly brings to the light of day (1) how obsessed the homosexual movement is with reaching your children, and what lengths they're willing to go to do it; and (2) how strongly school systems believe that they supercede the family when it comes to defining values to children -- even if the families object.

They still totally miss the boat on why this case was dismissed in the first place. THERE ARE GAY FAMILIES THAT GO TO THESE SCHOOLS TOO. Why should those tax paying families be deprived of being represented in the daily discussions? Is the school system supposed to pretend that they don't exist (in so much that Brian Camenker wishes they didn't?)

Why is it that all these Right Wingers, who were decrying about activist judges, are now all excited about bringing their cases to the Supreme Court? MassResistance, always with the fear mongering, makes references to the Nazi's:

And furthermore, Wolf asserts that the state has no obligation to let parents exclude their kids from this, or even inform parents when it's happening. (Does that remind you of Europe in the 1930s, by any chance?)

And as usual, they rewrite history:

David Parker was arrested in April 2005 and jailed overnight over school staff discussing homosexuality and transgenderism with his son in kindergarten without parents' knowledge or consent.

NO, David Parker was arrested because he refused to leave a Lexington elementary school after he was told by police that if he didn't leave he would be arrested.

They end their tirade with this:

We recently met with a mother who was preparing to take her local school system to court over a particular homosexual-related activity that she felt was going to affect her child in a destructive way. But when she discussed it with her lawyer (who specializes in dealing with public schools) the lawyer told her that the recent ruling by Federal Judge Mark Wolf in the David Parker case would make it difficult for her to win!

Hmm...who could this have been? Can you imagine what the "homosexual-related activity" was? Was it designing an outfit for "Project Runway"? Maybe it was doing a re-creation of the frescoes in the Sistine Chapel? Or could it have been showing the kids how to win back-to-back Olympic titles in both the 3m and 10m diving events? Quite possibly it was just putting on the Laramie Project.

They used to call me Piggy!

In a followup to Brian Camenker's salacious press release which accused adults and school officials of fueling and inciting 1st graders to beat David Parker's son, the Lexington C.A.R.E.S. group released a press release yesterday. (The Lexington C.A.R.E.S. group came together after parents and residents of Lexington were concerned about the publicity and impact of David Parker's arrest since everything in the media was one sided):

Contrary to a statement released on June 14 by Brian Camenker of MassResistance, an altercation that involved David Parker's son at Lexington's Estabrook School was totally unrelated to his father's activism. Lexington C.A.R.E.S. views the accusations in the MassResistance press release as baseless, meaningless and without merit. This is nothing more than another publicity stunt by Brian Camenker.
The story, on an initial glance, is much more credible, especially if you have ever been a first grader.

A classmate, who is a friend of Mr. Parker's son, was mad at him because he sat in someone else's seat at lunch. At recess, the boy went over and started punching him. Other children stood around and watched. The playground aide noticed a cluster of children and headed over. She was met half way by a girl who ran to get help. The aide soon arrived and broke up the fight between these two 7-year-olds. Mr. Parker's son indicated to the aide that he was not hurt and that he did not want to go to the nurse.
This isn't Lord of the Flies here. Once again it appears that the Lexington School teachers did every right, including not making a spectacle of the event of which Article 8 was more than happy to provide.

From publishing pictures of other people's children without their permission to issuing press releases about school yard antics Article 8/Massresistance appears to have no boundaries. Oops, I made a mistake. They do have boundaries when it comes to Article 8/Massreistance's "volunteers" who are named in public. They prefer the cloak of darkness and anonymity.

Mad Dad Admits Nothing

Well, it seems like the State will not pursue the case against David Parker. His lawyer said in the Globe today that the State "does not want to go forward with this". Of course, when you know you're guilty blame it on the other side. Mass Marrier has covered how Parker, supposedly doing a "proud thing" by standing up to the school now refuses to take any responsibility for his actions.
Mad Dad Clucks Again
Itty-Boo, Mr. Parker
and more

You'd think he'd want to be heard in court however he has supposedly reached some kind of deal with the State. We shall see.

Also, if you didn't catch it, Parker was on ABCnews last night. Filler/fluff piece. It's also covered on the ABCnews website. IMHO, Parker does come off as a doofus even showing his child on camera (so much for wanted to shield he's child from the controversy) Brian Camenker put in his cameo spot too. It was a good showing from Lexington Cares who had a very credible spokesperson deliver the most coherent address in the piece. Lexington Cares now has a website. Check it out.

Katrina Stopped but Massresistance Still Blows Hot Air

Well, after a brief trip to our neighbors up north, we're back. It was definitely interesting to see news about the US through the eyes of another country. Not surprisingly, we didn't even see or hear homophobic bather like we do around here and the whole country has same sex couples getting married! I've been trying to catch up on all the hateful stuff that Ms. Massresistance has been posting on her website. There's a lot! In the past week she's:

The funniest part of all her posts is the following:

By the way, Meg has it wrong below about Mass. Family Institute running the [David Parker] rally. It is actually being organized by a grassroots group of Parker supporters.

God forbid the wrong anti-gay anti-family hate group gets credit for this rally. Yet, if you go on Massnews.com you'll read about the rally is being headed up by no other than Brian Camenker, who is the contact person. The same Brian Camenker who heads the Parents Right Coalition and Article 8, this is the grassroots group of Parker supporters Ms. Massresistance writes about(remember that David Parker said he wasn't "involved" with Article 8).

I Just Called To Say I Love You!

It's taken me a bit but I finally got around to listen to Brian Camenker on The Christian Education League's podcast (it's titled Homosexual Totalitarianism) and let me tell you, if you like lies and deception, you'll love it!. I guess Brian must have phoned right after the ConCon ended so Mike Heath of the Maine Christian League could get the "scoop" on what happened. Throughout the podcast Brian tries to link himself alongside MFI as part of the"pro-family movement" in Massachusetts (when in reality no other so-called "pro-family" group in Massachusetts will even mention their name never mind link themselves to Massresistance/Article 8/Brian Camenker.)

On the whole podcast, it's pretty lame, it's really more of the same. Same old stories, same old references, he must have used the term "gloat" about 20 times (OK, I'm exaggerating, I think it was 10). He admonish MFI for putting forth the marriage amendment they did and claims it didn't pass because it was weak when everyone, including MFI, knows that they put forth that amendment because an amendment nulling all marriages since May 2007 would be unconstitutional. Then again, Brian still expects the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court judges to get removed and that his bills will get voted on, reality has never been one of his strong suits.

I laughed when he even got in a plug for Mad Dad himself, David Parker. He dropped the "David Parker got arrested" line. (BTW, if you want to catch some recent pictures of Parker click here. Massresistance, clueless as ever, posts a picture of Parker with his interpreter and only manages to insult the interpreter as seen on the right.)

There is also a line at the end of the podcast that made me laugh. Michael Health, the guy who made the podcast, tells Brian that he should probably let him go because Brian probably has other "media" to talk to! That one had me rolling on the floor!

So Many Gays, So Many Galas

Next week is turning out to be a busy week for the anti-gay bigots:
  • Wednesday, October 3rd, there is a "forum" in Acton which the homophobes wanted because the Acton High Drama Department is putting on "The Laramie Project" in November (get your tickets now, it will most likely be a sold out event!). For the life of me, I don't fully comprehend what qualifications an "Ex-gay" and a "Dr." obsessed with gay sex have with offering a differing viewpoint on the play. Maybe the "Ex-gay" is an ex-actor and can offer his view of the whole acting experience and how it relates to the play? Is the "Dr" an arm chair critic who's seen numerous productions of the "The Laramie Project" and can offer experienced advice to the director?

  • Thursday, October 4th, Massresistance is holding its annual fundraising gala at the Holiday Inn in Boxborough, MA. A Holocaust revisionist is speaking along with, ta da, Mad Dad David Parker fresh off his anti-gay tour of Puerto Rico, who, BTW, is jetting off tomorrow to...

  • Friday, October 5th, Pete "Obsessed with anything gay" LaBarabara is holding his first fundraising dinner, a la Massresistance, outside of Chicago and guess who's speaking? None other than the man who bullies elementary school staff, Mad Dad David Parker.

Some interesting notes on the above. Brian and Amy always have their camera in hand except when it comes to their "gala", they threatened to show pictures of the past "galas" but somehow never get around to posting those pictures, hmmm..... They have photos of Gay Pride events, they even post pictures of school children on their site, but a picture of their "supporters," no where to be found. Who knows, you may find pictures of this event right here so keep posted.

Update to the October 3rd event: Linda Harvey, a "researcher" on homosexual programs in the public schools and founder of a group she started on the Internet is no longer going to be strutting her stuff at the Acton forum apparently. Massresistance gives no reason for the change either but lists a John Russo as taking her place.

I also found this gem on the "new" Massresistance web site:

The superintendent of schools and chairman of the school committee have contacted one of the parents involved. They want to meet with him. They are concerned about "safety at the event." They apparently want US to provide police protection.

Our question: Safety from whom? Certainly none of the pro-family people would be a threat. Are the school officials afraid that homosexual activists might do what they do at so many other events they don't like - cause a disruption and threaten violence?

Can someone say Larry Cirignano, Mad Dad Parker and Diane Steele?

Further Evidence of Massresistance/Article 8's Made Up Story

The Lexington Public Schools issued a second press release yesterday:

Recently, the media reported on a playground fight at Estabrook School in Lexington, Massachusetts, where one first grade student hit another first grade student. After the media focus on this incident, the Estabrook School principal issued a letter to parents reporting the details of this incident and the school's response, and the Superintendent of the Lexington Public Schools issued a similar report to the community and the press. Because of an allegation that the incident was "fueled and incited by adults (and yes, school officials)," the Superintendent, after having conducted his own investigation, referred the incident to the Lexington Police Department, the Middlesex District Attorney and the Department of Social Service(DSS).

The Lexington Police Department has issued the following statement, "The school department is handling this situation involving two first graders professionally and does not require action from the police." The Child Abuse Prevention office of the District Attorney and the DSS have each declined to initiate investigations, in part because the parents of the first grader who was hit have not filed a complaint, and in part because they found no basis for an investigation in the facts and circumstances reported. The School Committee and the Superintendent have both concluded that the allegation of adult involvement in and/or incitement of this minor
playground incident is entirely without merit.

So this is more evidence that Article 8/MassResistance just made up this whole story to gather further publicity, apparently judging the size of mannequins chests didn't give them enough newscopy for the month.

Upon further investigation it looks like this whole scheme of blaming adults and gay marriage for an unrelated incident with 1 st graders is a ploy by Article 8/Massresistance to make money for themselves. Even the conservative Free Republic, which is covering this "story" questions Camenker's press release and frankly doesn't believe it:

Why didn't Parker file a police report for several weeks? (He never filed a police report) Why didn't Parker take his son to a hospital to see if he had internal injuries from this "mob" that attacked him? Why did he permit his son to visit the home of the boy who presumably attacked him? Why hasn't Parker opened a complaint with Children's Services and the DA?

Why should we believe one word he says? He's permitting so much misinformation to be spread it's become an urban legend. That suits his agenda just fine. It's not a bad agenda, but using a child to further it is disgusting. And possibly dangerous to the child.

Addition: The Globe has an article on this story in today's paper. You can read it here. Again it dispels the myth that Article 8/Massreistance is trying to put forth.

And now the World is Still Flat Award Goes to:
Brian Camenker, president of MassResistance, said he still believes Parker's son was beaten up because of his father's views. ``The kids have been incited on this," he said. ``There's a lot of anger."
