Brian Camenker: State Legislator!?!

Maybe from the State of Lunacy!

As I was scanning the anti-gay stories around the country when I came upon this item about Willard Romney and same sex marriage in Massachusetts. The story itself wasn't surprising except for this one section:

But former state legislator Brian Camenker claims that Romney's moves during the period leading up to the May 17 implementation of the court's order actually helped grease the skids for gay marriage in the Bay State.

The November 2003 Massachusetts high court ruling said that the rights and privileges of marriage had to be applied to everyone -- including same-sex couples -- under the state constitution. It gave the Massachusetts Legislature 180 days to act on a homosexual marriage law.

By April 2004, lawmakers had not acted. But Romney had. Camenker said not only had the governor ordered JPs to perform gay marriages, but he also issued new marriage certificates that replaced the titles "husband" and "wife" with "Party A" and "Party B."

"The legislature never acted. He didn't have to do anything," said Camenker, who is currently president of MassResistance, a suburban Boston-based anti-gay marriage group. "Romney was a major force in creating same-sex marriage."

Now anyone reading this outside of Massachusetts would think that Brian Camenker was a legislator in Massachusetts during Romney's reign. It appears that MassResistance can't get anyone to read anything they write so they are resorting to lying to embellish their stories. If anyone has any proof that Brian Camenker was in fact a State Legislator in ANY state in the United States, please email it to me. I've looked high and low and couldn't find a thing (you would think that the Parent's Right Coalition/Article 8 Alliance/MassResistance would have certainly used that tidbit for some kind of legitimacy) if it was true.

So who is fabricating his credentials CNS or MassResistance?

Violent Anti-Gay Movements and Their Connection to MassResistance

I first learned about this issue from my husband who pointed out the cover story on the "Intelligence Report" from the Southern Poverty Law Center. It was about a violent anti-gay movement in Latvia that has spilled over in the United States and it is emerging in evangelical churches serving Slavic immigrants.

A couple of things caught my eye. First Scott Lively (if that name sounds familiar it's because he is the person who wrote the "Pink Swastika" which Massresistance is always alluding to and coincidentally spoke at their annual fundraising banquet.) Secondly, there were these paragraphs which stood out:

Nevertheless, The Pink Swastika has become Lively's passport to fame among anti-gay church leaders and their followers in Eastern Europe, as well as Russian-speaking anti-gay activists in America. Lively frequently speaks about the book and his broader anti-gay agenda in churches, police academies and television news studios throughout the former Soviet Union.

Lively credits the popularity of Russian-language translations of The Pink Swastika to the support of Pastor Alexey Ledyaev, the head of the New Generation Church, an evangelical Christian megachurch based in Riga, the capital city of Latvia. New Generation has more than 200 satellite churches spread throughout Eastern Europe, Argentina, Israel and the United States.

"One of my supporters gave him [Ledyaev] a copy of The Pink Swastika. He was very impressed by it," Lively said in a December 2006 radio show on WTTT-AM, based in Boston. "The European press was bashing them [Ledyaev and his church] for being Nazis. He was finally thrilled that he had something to counter the media with." Ledyaev did not respond to E-mails seeking comment.

Now, take a guess as to who's show he was on in December of 2006...if you guessed MASSRESISTANCE, you are probably right since Scott Lively was on MassResistance's radio show in December! I would also like to point out that Scott Lively is now moving (maybe he's already there) to Springfield Massachusetts.

What's really distressing is the amount of violence that is occurring because of these people and Scott Lively and MassResistance refuse to acknowledge that it is happening because of them. Brian considers Scott Lively his "good friend", are we surprised? Ms. Massresistance has even posted a number of rants citing him.

I really recommend you read the Southern Poverty Law Center's article which exposes what is really going on out there and appears to be coming to this state soon (It appears that it is already here and Scott is just rejoining them in Sprinfield because a man, Vadim Privedenyuk, runs an anti-gay church in Springfield, Mass.)

Update: Apparently they were here during the last Con Con as evidenced here from a picture from MassResistance:

Update 2: Massresistance just posted another picture on their blog from Springfield Mass and guess what, there are Russian protesters in those pictures too. I wonder if that anti-gay church was involved in that nasty billboard that was put up not too long ago? Well, MassResistance has no new audience in Massachusetts so I guess they have to import them from elsewhere.

Anti-Gay Leader Fakes His Own Attack

Hmm...
(Mount Laurel, New Jersey) A Princeton University student who argued that his conservative views were not accepted on the campus confessed to fabricating an assault and sending threatening e-mail messages to himself and some friends who shared his views, authorities say.

And of course when he first claimed "he was attacked" the campus conservative group claimed bias like they always do:

Another student wrote in the campus newspaper Friday that the threats Nava received did not get the same forceful response as anti-gay graffiti that appeared this semester outside the dorm rooms of some gay students.

Brandon McGinley called it a double standard, which made it seem OK to "use intimidation tactics to silence the voices of morally conservative students."

But the threats, like the attack, are apparently a hoax.

All this from a person who wants to bring "moral" views to light. Read Fox News story about the first "attack".

MassResistance: Still Living In the Past

Things are getting pretty desperate over at Waltham's Hatequarters because MassResistance/Article 8 is really dredging the bottom of the bag.

First they put up a story about Sandy Rios challenging Mitt Romney. Now, I'm far from a Mitt Romney fan, but Sandy Rios! Please! This woman used to be the president of the Concerned Women of America, you know the organization run by men. Apparently she wasn't too concerned about women in America because she either quit or got booted. Although MassResistance/Article 8 has a special place in their heart for her because she came to Boston and tag teamed with "pro family" Alan Keyes at their sparsely attended "forum" the weekend Marriage Equality became legal in Massachusetts.

One of the biggest jokes about "Pro-Family" Sandy Rios is that she is a D-I-V-O-R-C-E-D concerned woman. (What happened to the covenant marriage?)

All these religious wackos are always talking about the sanctity of marriage and about what the Bible says about homosexuality. Well, Mrs. Sandy Rios, Jesus said nothing about gay people in the Bible yet he preached endlessly about the evils of adultery and breaking the marriage vow. Guess you didn't read that part of the Bible huh. Luckily, from one of her TV appearances, Fox News had their banner up blocking the rest of her cleavage from corrupting the minds of youth watching TV.

Then on Tuesday they dragged out their "Polyamory On the Way" argument. Of course they are repeating themselves from a Feb posting which was a repeat of an earlier postings. OK people, same sex couples started legally marrying 3 years ago, where's all the gay polygamous marriage advocates in Massachusetts and why hasn't MassResistance or MFI started a petition to ban them? Enough with the threats!

Why aren't you talking about the successful banquet that you held months ago? What about all those famous people supporting your cause? How's that trashing of Mitt Romney going? If you support "Parental Rights" then you support the rights of same sex parents or do you not support ALL parental rights? Oh, BTW, Marriage is still legal in Massachusetts for same sex couples, just wanted to remind you because you're blog posts are wrong.

Can You Judge A Homosexual By His Cover?

I was doing my shopping online (it's the only way to beat the crowds) and found myself on a site that at first I thought was Amazon.com:
But I was horrified to find out that I was actually on MassResistance/Article 8's website. The picture of those books had me fooled for a second. Of course I had to read the little blurb that went along with it:

Queering Elementary Education...

A mother was in a school guidance councilor's office in Acton (Now who could that be?) and snapped this photo. A major propaganda manual with the most insidious techniques for "queering" children. This is what the Parkers are battling against.

After I picked myself off floor from laughing so hard I looked at the books again, here's the list:
  • Webster's New Pocket Dictionary
  • Educating and Nurturing the Bipolar by Janice Papolon
  • Schoolgirls by Peggy Orenstein
  • Queering Elementary Education
  • Odd Girl Out
  • Odd Girl Speaks Out
  • Queen Bees & Wannabe's
  • Reviving Ophelia

Of course, I have never heard of ANY of these books (so much for me being the HUGE homosexual activist) however it did get to me asking a number of questions:

  • Would a guidance councilor have allowed a parent to just pull out their camera and photograph their desk?
  • Is this picture actually even real?
  • Do I need a new dictionary?

Be that as it may, this picture looks like a setup. I'm guessing that a person, not a guidance counselor, owns these books and has them because of an issue they think they have with their child. And, if the picture is real, well, I'm glad that the public school administration is using relevant texts to handle some situations and they're not relying verbatim on the Bible.

One more note, if the picture is real, what kind of parent would bring a camera to school for any other reason other than a school play?

Do Ya Think They Read This Blog?

Well, as expected, after Tuesday's post about MassResistance not posting anything for 2 weeks they finally updated their website yesterday on Thursday (regardless of what the date on their website says).

Their new headline reads like a 1950's Communist horror film:
David Parker's appeal of federal Civil Rights case to take place next Wednesday, Dec. 5, in Boston. Oral arguments before 3-judge panel.

Major national homosexual groups and others file amicus briefs in opposition!

Unprecedented effort by state and national organizations to stop parents' rights in schools. . .

And inside you can read their "press release" with their obligatory 2 years or so old picture of David Parker in handcuffs (which they themselves took to use for this very reason). They are setting themselves up for a BIG fall. Take a gander at their love of wild hyperbole:
  • This is unprecedented in any case involving parents challenging the homosexual agenda in public schools.
  • Over the last two and a half years this case has received national and even international notoriety.
  • It is unquestionably not an ordinary civil rights case; it clearly has national implications. And the homosexual movement understands the danger this represents to their cause.

And then they post this:

This case clearly brings to the light of day (1) how obsessed the homosexual movement is with reaching your children, and what lengths they're willing to go to do it; and (2) how strongly school systems believe that they supercede the family when it comes to defining values to children -- even if the families object.

They still totally miss the boat on why this case was dismissed in the first place. THERE ARE GAY FAMILIES THAT GO TO THESE SCHOOLS TOO. Why should those tax paying families be deprived of being represented in the daily discussions? Is the school system supposed to pretend that they don't exist (in so much that Brian Camenker wishes they didn't?)

Why is it that all these Right Wingers, who were decrying about activist judges, are now all excited about bringing their cases to the Supreme Court? MassResistance, always with the fear mongering, makes references to the Nazi's:

And furthermore, Wolf asserts that the state has no obligation to let parents exclude their kids from this, or even inform parents when it's happening. (Does that remind you of Europe in the 1930s, by any chance?)

And as usual, they rewrite history:

David Parker was arrested in April 2005 and jailed overnight over school staff discussing homosexuality and transgenderism with his son in kindergarten without parents' knowledge or consent.

NO, David Parker was arrested because he refused to leave a Lexington elementary school after he was told by police that if he didn't leave he would be arrested.

They end their tirade with this:

We recently met with a mother who was preparing to take her local school system to court over a particular homosexual-related activity that she felt was going to affect her child in a destructive way. But when she discussed it with her lawyer (who specializes in dealing with public schools) the lawyer told her that the recent ruling by Federal Judge Mark Wolf in the David Parker case would make it difficult for her to win!

Hmm...who could this have been? Can you imagine what the "homosexual-related activity" was? Was it designing an outfit for "Project Runway"? Maybe it was doing a re-creation of the frescoes in the Sistine Chapel? Or could it have been showing the kids how to win back-to-back Olympic titles in both the 3m and 10m diving events? Quite possibly it was just putting on the Laramie Project.

The Writing Is On the Wall

The signs are everywhere: MassResistance hasn't updated it's website since November 14th. Their last radio show was on October 6th and since then they've been threatening us by saying that they're getting back on the air, it's now November 28th.

People that I've been talking with have been saying that the whole "Laramie Project" at the Acton/Boxborough High School pretty much did them in. Then the icing on the cake was when Amy Contrada, who allowed her daughter to participate in the high school play, abruptly pulled her from the play and school the week before the final performances cutting the student off from her closest support group and then posting intimidate details of the young woman's life on their websites. This last act was surely the act of disturbed individuals and has appeared to make the family outcasts in the community.

I can't imagine that many people are donating to their brand of hate lately either especially after they spread those personal details about Amy daughter around the web. Ironically, other than MassResistance, no other anti-gay group has picked up this story. It reeked of desperation. That AFA/Focus on the Family groups are probably also disturbed at how low the MassResistance "staffers" have sunk this time.

Only time will tell when they show their ugly little heads. I hear the fat lady singing.

Still No New MassResistance Radio Show

People have been emailing and writing comments on this blog wondering why Brian and Amy haven't gotten another radio show on another radio station. For the past two weeks they have been teasing us with taunts such as "We will be on this weekend on a new POWERFUL station" and then nothing.

Now they're doing more teasing:

While we're preparing to move to our new station,

MassResistance radio is moving to a new, more powerful station!

Get ready to tune in Saturday mornings 9:00 am to 10:00 am. starting again next week (at least that's the plan).

Which begs the question "What do they have to do to prepare?". You would think they would have at least been on the radio a few weeks ago when their partners in thought, Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church, were in town. I was expecting to hear their interview with Fred's daughter who shares Brian and Amy's view of gay people, but no.

They were probably too busy airing intimidate details on the web about Amy's daughter. Or was it time consuming attacking the people in the Acton-Boxborough area for supporting the student's efforts in putting on a play. Could it be because they were threatening the Roche Brother's Supermarkets? Maybe it was because they were consumed with going after Bay Windows for the umpteenth time?

There is talk that after their latest kerfuffle with "The Laramie Project" at Acton Boxborough High School, they had done themselves in. People finally saw them for what they really are, hate obsessed nuts. Of course, I knew that a long long time ago.

Heartbreaking

MassResistance is loving that the Amy's daughter's appearance in "The Laramie Project" has legs because they're ones, Brian Camenker and Amy Contrada, who are keeping it alive. Just read their latest awful attack on this young woman.

In Amy's latest post she attacks and threatens Bay Windows for reporting online what was found on the school's website about the play. She also accuses the blog QueerToday of posting lies.

They are attacking everyone for "damaging an Acton youth" when Brian and Amy are the ones making public intimate details of this young woman's life even going so far as posting pictures of her bedroom! Have they no shame?

Everything I've seen written on the web about this young woman, with the exception of the MassResistance Website and blog, has been supportive and caring.

Lower Than a Snake's Belly

Wow, I just read the most vile and truly disgusting post over at Massresistance. Brian and Amy not only threw Amy's daughter under the bus, but they backed up, ran over her and did it all over again. I am amazed that any parent would do that to their own child:

Homosexual activists - possibly in cooperation with school staff -- have viciously targeted a 17-year-old special-needs student, the daughter of Amy Contrada, a MassResistance staffer. (It's outrageous that a parent is now forced to reveal once-private information in order to stop this assault.)

Not happy with making sure that the world knows that Amy's daughter is adopted and of another race, Massresistance is broadcasting that the young woman is a special-needs student. (That's one way to boost her self esteem). They publish all this personal information about this poor young woman just to further their own homophobic agenda. They blame everyone who has ever come in contact with Amy's daughter for her being a lesbian, which Amy claims could never be true.

What normal parent would on one hand take pictures of their child's bedroom and post it on the web for the world to see and on the other hand claim that the woman is disturbed? Unbelievable! I cannot believe that Brian and Amy of MassResistance would exploit Amy's daughter like this. I never thought they could get any lower than they already have (Posting children's pictures on their website, video and audio tapping of children against their parent's permission, accusing people of serious crimes without proof, etc...) I was wrong.

Oh, for the record, when I was growing up I had pictures of all of the Charlie's Angels (except Kate Jackson) on my walls.

When Quotation Marks Go Wild!

I was going to write about how Brian and Amy are now attacking the majority of people of Acton and Boxborough over "The Laramie Project". You see these people had the audacity to actually have an opinion and the nerve to write a letter to local newspaper responding to the hateful rant that Amy Contrada got published the week before. But after reading the title of the piece I was just bowled over with laughter. Take a look:

Local Acton "liberals" step up the venom - intimidation campaign against critics of "Laramie Project."
Now it used to be that Brian and Amy only used the "" (quotes) when they were referring to gay people (the "homosexual" activists) or same sex couples marrying (the two men "married")because for some reason it they don't believe either homosexuals or gay marriage exists. But now they've taken it to a whole new level as evidenced from the title above. Are they saying that the liberals aren't really liberals?

And the quotes continue with their comments on the citizen's letters:

This woman takes another standard approach to demean critics. This is the "gentler" way of twisting what the article actually said and mixing in bogus "facts", with a dash of sanctimonious jabs at morality and religious belief.
and
And of course, there's the lesbian activist "observing" that, thank goodness, these ignorant critics of this wonderful play are just a small minority -- hurtful, extremists. And won't it be great when we all embrace homosexuality and we can put all these controversies behind us?

I paused to imagine what their home life was like:
Brian: Dear, I'm going to the "bathroom" do we have "enough" toilet paper?
or

Amy: Does anyone want to make"lunch" or should I take the "car" and "drive" to the "store" and "pick" something up?
I can picture them using air quotes on the radio too. They must have HUGE forearms!

The Laramie Project

This weekend is the opening of Acton-Boxborough Regional High School's production of "The Laramie Project":

This powerful play explores how the citizens of Laramie, Wyoming, dealt with the aftermath of the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay college student there. Through the voices of those interviewed, the play shows how attitudes towards homosexuality, religion, class, economics, and education were reflected through this hate crime. The play is not a re-enactment, but rather a portrait of this small western town — and a snapshot of the culture in the United States in 1998. This play contains adult language and subject matter. It is recommended WITH PARENTAL GUIDANCE for age 13 and older.

Seating Information Performances are in the ABRHS auditorium. Seats are not reserved. Doors open one-half hour before each show. No refunds or exchanges. Tickets may be picked up at the ticket desk starting two hours before show time. The ticket desk is located in the FRONT LOBBY at A-B High School.

The Saturday night show is already SOLD OUT so make sure you get your tickets ahead of time! Fred Phelps' Clan is supposed to be protesting this Saturday too. MassResistance is trying to distance themselves from Fred's Baptist group but we all know they are one in the same only Fred is more truthful then they are. In fact last time Fred made an appearance in Massachusetts in 2005 and it was on behalf of Mad Dad David Parker and "The Laramie Project" in Newton. Brian was trying to distance himself from them then too!

Surprise! Ms. MassResistance Lies Again!

Now this is precious. Ms. Massresistance has a new post up and look what she's lying about now:
Another excellent piece by Matt Barber of Concerned Women for America, "Homosexuality: What's all the fuss?" (WorldNetDaily, 11-1-07). He addresses one of the most annoying taunts thrown our way: Aren't you hyperfocused on Homosexuality? But most of us fighting this battle never gave homosexuality much thought prior to November 2003. But then, crazy judges in Massachusetts pushed our faces into the poop, forced us to lick and declare it good. Since then, as Barber says, "we find ourselves – back against the ropes – in a fight we did not pick, struggling in a culture war we did not ask for."

Read what she wrote again:
But most of us fighting this battle never gave homosexuality much thought prior to November 2003.

Now why would Amy lie about when she started verbally bashing gay people? A quick google search finds this article she wrote for MassNews in 2001 about the Boy Scouts and gay people:
The answer that is obvious to many parents is that homosexuals should not be allowed to be leaders in the troop anymore than they heterosexual men are allowed to be girl scout leaders. Parents don't have a problem telling heterosexual men that they don't want to risk entrusting their girls to them. Why should parents feel bad about telling homosexual men that they don't want to take a chance with their boys?

So obviously her "battle" against gay people began years before that. MassNews, who Amy wrote for then, was started by J. Edward Pawlick, the guy started the first petition in the early 2000's to ban same sex marriages. Me thinks the lady doest protest too much.

Another Republican "I'm Not Gay" Speech

I've been following this story for the past couple of days and it had me fascinated. Pam's House Blend was where I first read it (and it moved very quickly). Here's the timeline:

Sunday, October 28th: Spokesman Review Online posted a story about a Washington State Rep who was allegedly being extorted:

An alleged extortion attempt involving a state lawmaker and a reputed male prostitute is under investigation by Spokane police.

Details surrounding the case remained sketchy Sunday, but authorities confirmed that it involves two-term state Rep. Richard Curtis, a Republican from the small southwest Washington town of La Center, and that there was some type of confrontation last week at Davenport Tower. The identity of the alleged extortionist was unavailable, though police confirm he is a reputed prostitute.

Then when word got out, GOP Rep. Curtis stated he wasn't gay:

SPOKANE -- State Representative Richard Curtis says he's not gay, but police reports and court records indicate the Republican lawmaker from southwestern Washington dressed up in women's lingerie and met a Medical Lake man in a local erotic video store which led to consensual sex at a downtown hotel and a threat to expose Curtis' activities publicly.

The GOP legislator was receiving oral sex from a man at the video store before his encounter with the prostitute. BTW, the Republican State Rep has a wife and kids too. Oh but it gets better:

Curtis, during an interview with a Spokane detective, claimed that he gave Castagna $100 for "gas money" and insisted that the money was not payment for sex. During that phone conversation he claimed he only had $200 and left the money in an envelope at the front desk at the Davenport Tower for Castagna in exchange for the return of his wallet.

The "still not gay" Republican State Rep. told the police (via The Stranger):

Curtis stated both he and the male walked into the lobby together. He told the male gain that he would give the male $100 to help him out but he was not paying him to have sex. Curtis and the male went up to Curtis’ room, which was 968. Once in the room Curtis gave the male $100…. Curtis and the male ultimately had anal intercourse on the bed in Curtis’ hotel room. The male performed intercourse on Curtis and the male’s semen and/or DNA would be on the inside of the condom while Curtis’ DNA would be on the exterior. Curtis said he was the person who received the anal sex.

Finally after all those denials, Republican State Rep. Curtis resigns:

"I sincerely apologize for any pain my actions may have caused," he wrote. "This has been damaging to my family, and I don't want to subject them to any additional pain that might result from carrying out this matter under the scrutiny that comes with holding public office."

Three days earlier, Curtis had insisted to his local newspaper that he was not gay and that sex was not involved in what he said was an extortion attempt by a man last week.

And there's so much lurid details. I really recommend check out Pam's site or Dan Savage's site for all the hypocrisy of another "Family Values Politician". I'll leave you with a statement by one of Curtis's peers in the Washington State House:

...Rep. Lynn Schindler, R-Spokane, said she sat next to Curtis during one of the events. She also said she had not heard about the alleged crime.

“It doesn’t fit the profile of the person I know,” she said. “That kind of surprises me from his dealings with me.”

Clash of the Cultures

Well the Red Sox did it again! I can't believe it. I celebrate this win for my mother, who was a huge Red Sox fan. One of my earliest memories was of my parents getting Red Sox tickets and taking us to Fenway Park (I recall my mother being the most excited). I think I must have been around 4 or 5 years old. It was Russ Gibson Day.

Their win yesterday is bittersweet since my mom passed away in 2003 and never got to see the Red Sox win the World Series (She was a big Patriots fan too but did get to see them win one Superbowl). Along with missing the Red Sox wins, as I've written here before, my mom also wasn't here to witness me getting legally married. However, like last night's win, I could feel my mother right next to me, excited as can be and taking the happiness all in.

Which leads me to one of the reasons I think the Red Sox won. Of course they're a great team and yes, they did play beautifully, but I think there was a higher power in play.

In the infamous words of Brian Camenker:
I could sit here and I could probably, you know, find some ways of connecting the dots to gay marriage to all of these if I had enough time and if I did some research.

You see, Colorado is the home of Focus on the Family, one of the eminent anti-gay organizations in the country (possibly the world?) They tried to eradicate same sex marriage in every state in this country and failed in Massachusetts. When the Massachusetts Legislature prevented discrimination from staining the country's oldest constitution it seems only fitting that the Red Sox would be World champs over the Colorado Rockies.

So maybe Brian Camenker is a little bit right this time

More Cheese With that Whine?

Thanks to an anonymous poster we can now read Amy Contrada's "Opinion Piece" about "The Laramie Project" in The Beacon:

The play’s foul language is just one problem. It is also horribly violent, promotes homosexuality as normal, and undermines many parents’ values and authority. Yet the director told me that it has literary merit worth six months of production time.

The whole "foul language" issue sounds like a scene out of "Serial Mom" and readers of this blog will know that Amy LOVES to recite the "foul" language she attributes to the LGBT community. Also I guess she wants a play that promote gay people as being abnormal, non tax paying members of no community, no scratch that, she probably still wants our tax money she just doesn't want us to be portrayed realistically.

Strangely enough, no where in the whole article does she come out and state that she has a child in this production. Now wouldn't you think someone who takes the effort to write an opinion piece for the hometown newspaper that says stuff like:

This “R-rated” play is dishonest, vulgar, violent, politically loaded and divisive. It has no place in a taxpayer-funded school.
Isn't it just begging for the line "And I'm allowing my child to take part in it too"?

Responses may be sent to the editor: Robert Burgess: rburgess@cnc.com.

You might also want to take a gander at Brian Camenker's "Letter to the Editor" in the Beacon also. It's really more of the same conspiracy theories and old "it's against the Christians" baloney. I think the play bothers them so much is because the hate the play focuses on is the hate Brian and Massresistance peddles.

BTW, tickets for "The Laramie Project" are on sale here date: Nov 2, 3, 9, 10.

Will a Woman Be the Host?

In the comments section of the post "I Want My MassResistance" an anonymous commenter stated that MassResistance was moving to WNSH AM 1570 Beverly which is billed as Women's Talk Radio: For Women, By Women.

Thanks go to Mike over at Marry in Massachusetts, he received information that confirmed that MassResistance will be on WNSH. He told me that the station will be making it clear that they do not endorse MassResistance's ideas and that they are simply renting times. They also wanted it noted that they have a lesbian feminist on the station who might be airing right after the Massresistance show. Keating Willcox, from WNSH also welcomed anyone from the Gay community to get together and put their own show on WNSH.

No word yet on whether they will have advertisers on this show. I guess we're just have to wait and listen and then see if the advertisers share MassResistance's viewpoints. Since it's a "Woman's Radio Station" do you think Amy will lead off the show?

I Want My MassResistance!

You know nothing ruins a homosexual activist's day more than to get to the gym early, cook a low carb breakfast and finally settle in to listen to Massresistance's Radio Show only to find out that some other program is now in the same time slot.

As I'm franticly scrambling around trying to figure out what's wrong, making sure the station dial is correct (I can't miss their insightful introduction), I surf on over to Massresistance's website only to find out:

[We're taking a break until next week -- as MassResistance Radio moves to a new, more powerful station.]

Only that was for the October 6th show, it's October 20th, that was two weeks ago! Where's Brian? Where's Amy, A.K.A Ms. Massresistance? They say they're going to a new station, gee, that would be their THIRD radio station (and they say the gay community is promiscuous!).

Oh well, I guess I'll have to go back to my Sudoku puzzles and call it a morning!

Dumbledore is Gay

Yes folks, JK Rowling, the best selling author of the Harry Potter series confirms what many people had been thinking:

NEW YORK (Reuters) - J.K. Rowling has outed one of the main characters of her best-selling Harry Potter series, telling fans in New York that the wizard Albus Dumbledore, head of Hogwarts school, is gay.

Isn't it great! I can't wait to hear the fundies say that the author, who created the character is wrong.

Larry Cirignano Trial

Over at Pie and Coffee, Mike is doing live blogging of the Larry Cirignano trial in Worcester. Good coverage.

Bay Windows is reporting that the civil rights charges against Larry Cirignano were dropped but but was denied the motion to drop the assault charge. The trial is expected to end tomorrow but the it sounds like the defense might be bringing in more witnesses including Larry himself. Stay tuned to Pie and Coffee for more details.

A Requiem for a Sad Man

Massresistance posted this past week that J. Edward Pawlick, the guy who started the virulent anti-gay MassNews passed away this past weekend, however no obituary was published in either the Boston Globe or the Boston Herald.

I have a lot to thank Pawlick for. It was because of him that I became involved in the Equal Marriage movement. After I started reading MassNews I couldn't wait to debunk the garbage he was posting and I started speaking out.

Every year he would have predictions about Massachusetts and none of them would come true. (I bet the small plane pilots will miss him too since he paid for a lot of anti-gay airplane banners.)

In the past few years I've written sparingly about Pawlick mostly because it was clear the poor guy was going off the deep end. To give you a little insight into Pawlick's mind here are his predictions for 2004:

  • Senate President Robert Travaglini will be rejected by the voters in 2004 when his position on gay marriage and civil unions becomes clear.

  • Many of the other 137 legislators who voted to violate the state's Constitution on July 17, 2002, will choose not to run for reelection, as Cheryl Jacques has already done. If they do choose to run again, they will stand an excellent chance of being defeated, not by an organization but by angry voters.

  • Chief Justice Margaret Marshall will resign before May 2004, which is the month she has ordered that everyone must report back to her. She has proven she is no longer fit to be a judge in her adopted country.

It's sad that the man who started Lawyer's Weekly would end of being remembered for spending millions of dollars to deny gay and lesbian people their civil rights AND flying planes with ridiculous banners attached to them.

A Week Late and Way More Than A Dollar Short

Well, in my last post I noted that Massresistance apparently was repeating their radio show. To my surprise, when I went to their website I found the show that was supposed to be aired last Saturday on their site. Today when I tuned in to listen to their "new" show I was treated to the show that was supposed to air last week (and already posted on their website last Saturday).

Porno Pete was on and they actually gave a shout out to this blog, of course they never mentioned the name of the blog but you could tell from Amy's comments that reads every post including the comments section. Oh, they also had on the "Ex-gay" Stephen Bennett who talked about his "hit and run" accident which prevented him from attending that nasty forum two weeks ago in Acton.

One of the more interesting aspects of this show was Porno Pete talking about his trip half way across the country to attend the Folsom Street Fair in San Francisco. This guy, who comes off more as your nosy, busy body, cares about everyone's business but their own, old maid aunt, sounded downright giddy at retelling the sites he saw in California. Do the people who contribute to his organization know that they are funding this erotic trips? Amy posted about the Folsom Street Fair last week. Included threats such as "Soon coming to the streets of Boston. Torture, flogging, public nudity." Of course she neglected to mention that the fair has been going on for 25 years (how long are we supposed to wait until it gets here?) or that heterosexuals were also participating in the Fair. Somehow this is supposed to be linked to sexual orientation and gender identity but I didn't get her linkages.

I would suggest you read one article/letter concerning the Acton Forum on the Laramie Project. It was online in the Acton Town Online Newspaper:
ACTON, MASS. - A forum that was billed as a concerned parents' discussion of the high school drama department's production of the controversial play "The Laramie Project" focused mainly on what panelists said were the dangers of homosexuality.

There is also a letter to the Editor from a parent and a school teacher in the Acton school system.

It still boggles my mind why a parent who is supposedly so against the play and the message behind the play would allow their child to be a part of it. What kind of mixed messages is the child going to get?

The Show Must Repeat?

How sad, it's only been two or so weeks since Massresistance: The Radio Show came back on the "air" and they are already repeating programs.

Yesterday, I was all settled in to hear about the Laramie Project "forum" and their anti-gay gala in Boxborough, but no! Instead I was treated to a repeat of last week's show.

One wonders if they had any time at all to do the show last week with all their anti-gay activism. Or maybe the radio station pulled their show for who knows what reason? Maybe they couldn't afford to pay for the hour anymore because all of their anti-gay dollars have dried up?

Did They Even Mention "The Laramie Project" ?

Are we surprised? Nah. Some how I didn't quite make it to the alternative forum on "The Laramie Project" last night but the Queer Today Bloggers did:

Their featured ex-gay speaker, Stephen Bennett, didn't show up because he was allegedly involved in a hit and run accident just before the event. Brian and the other panelists were convinced that it was a "homosexual" who hit Stephen and drove off - providing them with a theme for the night. One speaker asked, "Where is Stephen Bennett's 'safe zone?'."

All of the speakers could not stop talking about our penises and vaginas, and what people should do with said body parts. They are more obsessed with our bodies and sex lives than we are.

So once again paranoid Brian and his followers believe that the "homosexual activists" were at work but this time they supposedly stopped "ex-gay" Stephen Bennett from attending (not too different than Amy blaming the "homosexual activists" for breaking into her home and terrifying her cats). Now why doesn't these religious zealots believe that God was the one who stopped Stephen Bennett from "testifying"? If they believe that God is the micromanager they make God out to be I'd be thinking The Lord stopped him.

Mark does point out what I knew from the start:

Nothing the speakers had to say was in any way related to the Laramie Project.

I hope the people in Acton who OK'd this sham forum were present to see what was truly behind the motives for those people who called for an alternative forum to present the opposite view of "The Laramie Project". What I can't figure out is what is the opposite of "A gay man is left to die on a fence by men who did it just because he was gay", he wanted them to do it? It makes no sense.

A Tale of Two Galas

This Thursday night there will be two fundraisers which could not be farther apart.

As posted earlier, Massresistance will be having their annual fundraising "gala" at the Boxborough Holiday Inn. Tickets are $30.00 a piece with tables of ten going for $300.00. No doubt money from this event will go to line Brian Camenker and Amy Contrada's pockets (these "volunteers" are actually paid by the donations) and the bone chillingly boring radio show.

Meanwhile in Boston, The Point Foundation will be holding an outreach event in Boston at the Fairmount Copley Plaza. If you haven't heard of the Point Foundation, you will soon enough, they do great work:

The Point Foundation was established in 2001 by Bruce Lindstrom and Carl Strickland; it has since invested more than $2 million in educational opportunities for outstanding LGBT students. The foundation drew national attention in 2005 when it awarded a scholarship to Maya Marcel Keyes, the daughter of right-winger and GOP presidential candidate Alan Keyes. The elder Keyes, a strident anti-gay activist, threw his then-19-year-old daughter out of his house and refused to pay her college tuition after she came out as a lesbian during a rally in their home state of Maryland. In addition to financial assistance, Point Foundation scholars also receive mentoring and leadership training.

So here you have two organizations which are looking for funds, one pro-family organization which helps educate young adults and the other funnels the money collected to tear families apart.

Honestly, how many children do you think have been helped by the money donated to Massresistance?

Mamma Don't Let Your Daughters Grow Up To Be Actors

I wasn't going to comment on the fact that Amy Contrada, who co-hosts the Massresistance Radio Show with Brian Camenker, has a daughter who is in "The Laramie Project" at the Acton high school, but I changed my mind when I read the bunch of BS over at the Massresistance Website:

But this is among the worst. They are attacking a mother and her vulnerable high-school-age adopted daughter in a particularly vicious way. They've published an article with the message that the daughter should be ashamed of her mother and distance herself from her mother - calling the mother horrible, vulgar names.

They appear to be doing this because Amy Contrada, a MassResistance activist, has spoken out on issues and because MassResistance is helping parents on a forum on a homosexual play being presented at the high school in Acton, MA, where Amy lives.
Amy Contrada's 17-year-old adopted daughter has shown great talent as an actress, and has won awards over the years. As many of you know, adopted children, particularly those of a different race (she is Asian) face particular emotional struggles. Claudia loves acting and it has helped the bond between Claudia and her parents, who also have a love of theatre.

Amy is apparently embarrassed that word got out that someone in her family is doing a gay positive play which her and Brian have protested against. Here's what Amy wrote about "The Laramie Project" the movie which was being shown in Worcester:
In the Worcester Telegram & Gazette, we read about the propaganda film "The Laramie Project" being force-fed to high school students at the Tantasqua Regional High School -- without parents being informed or given the chance to opt their children out. (This is the film which portrays Matthew Shepard's murder in Wyoming as a "hate crime", when in fact the murderers were thieving thugs on drugs.)

Massresistance's "press release" about Amy raises so many questions about Massresistance's tactics:
  • What difference should it make if Amy's daughter is adopted or not, why does Massresistance stress this?
  • Why does Massresistance make a point of pointing out that Amy's daughters is a different race? (Neither of these details were listed in the BayWindows online article)
  • They are accusing Bay Windows of "attacking" Amy and her family when all they did was point out a fact that is listed on a public website. Amy and Brian need to look into their own website and see the times they've attacked gay and lesbian parents and their families.

Bay Window's story was not about Amy's daughter but all about the woman who has made it her life's work to take away rights from GLBT Americans.

Update: Head over to Queer Today to read the hate mail they've received from the people who make up Massresistance.

So Many Gays, So Many Galas

Next week is turning out to be a busy week for the anti-gay bigots:
  • Wednesday, October 3rd, there is a "forum" in Acton which the homophobes wanted because the Acton High Drama Department is putting on "The Laramie Project" in November (get your tickets now, it will most likely be a sold out event!). For the life of me, I don't fully comprehend what qualifications an "Ex-gay" and a "Dr." obsessed with gay sex have with offering a differing viewpoint on the play. Maybe the "Ex-gay" is an ex-actor and can offer his view of the whole acting experience and how it relates to the play? Is the "Dr" an arm chair critic who's seen numerous productions of the "The Laramie Project" and can offer experienced advice to the director?

  • Thursday, October 4th, Massresistance is holding its annual fundraising gala at the Holiday Inn in Boxborough, MA. A Holocaust revisionist is speaking along with, ta da, Mad Dad David Parker fresh off his anti-gay tour of Puerto Rico, who, BTW, is jetting off tomorrow to...

  • Friday, October 5th, Pete "Obsessed with anything gay" LaBarabara is holding his first fundraising dinner, a la Massresistance, outside of Chicago and guess who's speaking? None other than the man who bullies elementary school staff, Mad Dad David Parker.

Some interesting notes on the above. Brian and Amy always have their camera in hand except when it comes to their "gala", they threatened to show pictures of the past "galas" but somehow never get around to posting those pictures, hmmm..... They have photos of Gay Pride events, they even post pictures of school children on their site, but a picture of their "supporters," no where to be found. Who knows, you may find pictures of this event right here so keep posted.

Update to the October 3rd event: Linda Harvey, a "researcher" on homosexual programs in the public schools and founder of a group she started on the Internet is no longer going to be strutting her stuff at the Acton forum apparently. Massresistance gives no reason for the change either but lists a John Russo as taking her place.

I also found this gem on the "new" Massresistance web site:

The superintendent of schools and chairman of the school committee have contacted one of the parents involved. They want to meet with him. They are concerned about "safety at the event." They apparently want US to provide police protection.

Our question: Safety from whom? Certainly none of the pro-family people would be a threat. Are the school officials afraid that homosexual activists might do what they do at so many other events they don't like - cause a disruption and threaten violence?

Can someone say Larry Cirignano, Mad Dad Parker and Diane Steele?

Oh, How One Hour Seems Like A Year...

Massresistance: The Radio Show Continues!

Well people, we got another shout out from the Massresistance Duo Brian and Amy on their recent Hate Show. They want people to call the station and tell them how much you LOVE their show. That's sounds kinda weird since they are paying for the airtime themselves. The radio station also continues the announcement (I'm paraphrasing) "the opinions of this radio show DO NOT reflect the opinions of the radio station, its staff or it's owners".

Today's show was the same load of crap, obsessing about transgender issues and bathrooms. However Amy definitely dominated the program. (Is she wearing men's clothing today, i.e., pants?) Oh they do so love gender specific clothing.

Well, we're going to take a break.

And we're back.

Brian and Amy live in the past hence their bringing up a story from 2004. Amy threatens "It's only going to get worse" and "It's going to be happening here". I guess its because there is some bill coming up that they don't like. Apparently they've stopped talking about any of the bills they sent to the Legislature since no is paying attention to their anti-gay antics.

It's nice that Brian and Amy fully understands the issues around people who are transgender by making stupid comments like "well one day the person can think they are a man and the next like a woman". It only leaves me to wonder if this is how they go about their day, do they switch their gender identity every other day?

We're going to take a break.

And we're back.

They had some guy from Citizens for a limited Taxation on their show and actually talked about something that didn't have to do with gay people, I know, what a shocker!

And we're back.

In their last segment they bring back that "Christian" Mike Heath from Maine (he's the guy who complained about the Victoria's Secret Windows displays). Mike is losing his own battle in Maine with his anti-gay activism so I'm sure he, Brian and Amy have a lot to talk about. But instead they talk about gambling in the state.

Mike Heath just said that homosexual activity is associated with gambling lifestyle. I knew they would link it somehow but I was betting that Brian would have been the one to bring it up.

It ended with the obligatory begging for money and some nonsense about they are like Thomas Jefferson, LOL.

Success = 70% or more Failure Rate?

Life Site News is proclaiming a new study which they claim shows how successful it is to leave the homosexual "lifestyle" (I'm still trying to figure out what a homosexual lifestyle is):

A new study, entitled the Exodus Project and conducted by two psychologists, has determined that, through "religiously mediated means", it is possible for homosexual individuals to leave their old lifestyle and embrace the heterosexual lifestyle. The study also determined that, contrary to mainstream scientific thought, the effort to change one's inclinations away from homosexuality does not appear to be psychologically problematic.

However, if you continue reading this blather you find that only 38% of the people in the study have "changed" and "changed" is a whole other matter. That 38% includes people who couldn't change but now live a chaste life. There were so many problems with this study that it spins the head.

Box Turtle Bulletin has delved into this shady study (they provide lots of information) But here's the gist of their findings:

    • 33 people reported change (moving from homosexual, bisexual or other at Time 1 to heterosexual at time 3; or homosexual at Time 1 to bisexual or other at Time 3)

    • 29 reported no change

    • 8 reported “negative change” (moving from heterosexual, bisexual or other at Time 1 to homosexual at Time 3; or from heterosexual at Time 1 to bisexual or other at Time 3).

    • 3 reported uncertain change (moving from bisexual to other, or the reverse) .
So it had a failure rate of probably more than 70% and we don't know now many of those 33 people were originally bisexual which would even lower that number of "success". Read Box Turtle's analysis.

Third Time's the Charm?

One of Massresistance's favorite homophobes is running for the third time for the presidency:

Alan Keyes, a Republican whose two previous runs for president ended in failure, is making a third try for the White House.

The Maryland conservative announced on his Web site that he filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission on Friday to make his candidacy official. He joins a crowded Republican field of nine candidates and is scheduled to participate Monday night at a debate involving lesser-known candidates in Florida.

Massresistance (called Article 8 during that period) brought in Alan Keyes and Sandy Rios for a "rally" they held on the weekend before same sex couples could get legally wed in the state. Alan "Family Value" Keyes, threw his daughter out of his house when he found out that she was gay. He also called Vice President Cheney's daughter a "selfish hedonist."

No wonder Massresistance's Brian and Amy are such fans.

Happy Pride - Love Romney & Healey

Our Absentee Ex-Governor Myth Romney is launching a radio ad in Iowa touting this anti-gay stance:

Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney is launching a radio ad in Iowa touting the strength of his opposition to same-sex marriage.

Romney, who has come under criticism from conservatives for his past support of some gay rights issues, says he is the only major GOP candidate backing a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage.

He considers himself a "major" GOP candidate because he is fourth on the list of 4, now that's comedy. The web has been swamped with this document that was first featured on ABC:

I think the only place Romney is #1 in the presidential field is in his mind and on the list of candidates who have spent more of their own wealth trying to buy the presidency. To date Romney has spent over 9 million dollars of his own cash.

Bathrooms and Bigots

Yes, it's another hour of my life I'll never get back but I feel it's my duty to listen to these homophobes and expose their hatred while I can.

On this past weekend's show they had on Porno Pete LaBarbara from the anti-gay organization he started in Chicago and some guy running for the Congressional seat in the 5th district as a "Constitution" party candidate.

The first 30 minutes or so was dominated by Brian and Amy ranting on bathrooms. No, they weren't talking about Republican Senator Larry Craig having sex in the bathrooms, they were complaining about people Amy believes are transgendered people using the bathroom. Countless times Amy would reiterate "We're not the ones obsessed with bathrooms" and then go on to obsess with bathrooms. Amy appears to think that every woman who is above 6' is a man dressed in drag and just eager to sit in the stall next to her. Brian would occasionally chimed in but this segment was all Amy.

Let me just say that I think it's hilarious how Brian says they are taking "breaks" during the segments when there are no sponsors of his program. His "and we're back" is also funny since they didn't go anywhere. (Brian probably does this so anyone who downloads their radio shows will think they have sponsors) I also noticed on Saturday that the radio station explicitly says before and after the Massresistance program that "the opinions on this show DO NOT REFLECT the opinions of this station or owners". Wow that's strong language, they don't even say "May not reflect..."

In another "segment" Porno Pete LaBarbara talked about how they (the anti-gay bigots) are losing ground. He reported on one of this minions going to a gay/lesbian journalist conference and being shocked at all the corporate sponsorship (even Fox News was there).

We also found out that Massresistance and Porno Pete's groups are doing back to back fundraisers. Massresistance's is on October 4th and Porno Pete's is on October 5th and Ta Da, David Parker is speaking at both of them. Tickets for Porno Pete's shindig are a bit more pricey than Brian and Amy's dinner.

Finally they ended their hate fest with some guy running for the 5th district congressional seat. The only thing I got out of this "segment" is that Brian Camenker hates Republican challenger Jim Ogonowski because he supports civil unions and the elimination of the military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. You would think that a man like Jim Ogonowski who has 25 years of military service would know what he's talking about but I guess Brian, who I'm guessing has not had 25 years of military experience, thinks he knows better.

Knock Three Times on the Stall Door If You Want Me!

I knew this was coming:

US Senator's 'gay sting' sparks toilet tourism

But Minneapolis' new must-see tourist attraction tops them all, at least for lovers of an old fashioned political sex scandal.

Visitors from across the United States are flocking to the men's toilets at Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport to see the stall where Senator Larry Craig was arrested for making sexual advances towards an undercover male police officer.

I'm sure this stall will be getting a lot of action when the Republican Convention is held here next year!

It's a Play About Hate

I thought it was strange when Brian Camenker announced on the comeback Massresistance Radio show two weeks ago that Amy couldn't be with them because she was in Wyoming "researching" the Laramie Project.

Then to my surprise I read Massresistance's latest "update" on their site:

Parents in Acton fighting back: Holding community forum Oct. 3 -- featuring national speakers -- to expose homosexual play "The Laramie Project" being presented at high school!

Many of you may be aware of the pro-homosexual play "The Laramie Project" that's being presented in colleges and even high schools across the country. It's an extremely offensive piece of propaganda that uses the murder of the gay college student Matthew Shepard to push acceptance of homosexuality and horribly demonize Christians and others who have moral issues with homosexual behavior. It is also an extremely violent and profane work, meant to be psychologically jarring, with little value beyond that.

When the Acton-Boxborough Regional High School administration decided to have students produce the play this November, concerned parents in the Acton-Boxborough school district requested MassResistance’s assistance in answering back. While school officials declined to halt the production of this R-rated play, (even after pleadings from parents with school officials) the School Committee did agree to allow an alternative viewpoint forum to be held in the school auditorium for the community. This play is being pushed in several schools in Massachusetts beyond, and we hope that this forum can be used to help concerned parents everywhere to combat the message of the play -- that traditional religious values are dangerous and hateful, that “seeds of hate” exist in every community, and that homosexuality should be accepted and celebrated.

Here's the coverage in last Sunday's Boston Globe of the upcoming forum:

This promises to be VERY informative. Confirmed speakers include: James Lafferty, who attended the Matthew Shepard trial in Laramie, Wyoming; Linda Harvey, researcher on homosexual programs in the public schools, Stephen Bennett, former homosexual, now married with two children; Dr. John Diggs, internist and international lecturer on sexually transmitted diseases.

THE PUBLIC IS INVITED
Acton-Boxborough Regional High School
Auditorium Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007 7:30 pm
(Charter Rd, connecting Mass. Ave. & Hayward St.), just off intersection of Rts. 111 & 27 (Main St.).

So now we know who the "concerned parents" in Acton is. Bay Windows outed Amy from Acton in an article published in November 2005 which was then repeated by Article 8 in a fundraising "update". And now Massresistance A.K.A. Brian and Amy are trying to censor the play in the town's high school only the town isn't having any of it.

An alternative forum is going to be held at the high school with the typical Massresistance/Article 8 cast of characters. Since this forum is going to held on public school property I certainly hope that none of the speakers will be using their time to promote their religious views, although I'm sure the ACLU will be watching.

Who else but Massresistance would spin a play about a man who was murdered by two anti-gay bigots into an attack making the "Conservative Christians" victims? The "Christians" who are depicted in the play are the Fred Phelps "God Hates Fags" group. It makes more sense when you recall that the Fred Phelps' group were in Lexington supporting Mad Dad David Parker. Birds of a feather... It also makes sense now that Amy was so concerned about Acton adopting the "No Place for Hate" program. All the pieces are falling into place.

History Repeating Itself?

I never really got into history but my husband has always been so when we talk about current events he reminds me of similar things that have happened in the past and its outcome. Recently he recalled this story about Oscar Wilde (Which I've copied and paraphrased from Wikipedia).

Oscar Wilde was a famous playwright, he was also married to a woman, however, he was known to prefer the "comfort of men". In 1895 Wilde claimed he was libeled by Lord Alfred Douglas's father, the ninth Marquess of Queensberry, for leaving him a calling card at his club. The offending card read "For Oscar Wilde, posing Somdomite [sic]".

In the preparation for the libel trial, detectives for Queensberry found out about all about Wilde's homosexual activities which eventually came out at the trial. Subsequently Wilde was convicted of gross indecency and sentenced to two years' hard labour for being a homosexual

Now, does that sound similar to anything going on today?

"Chrisitian" Bar Flunky Wants Court to Dismiss His Lawsuit

I posted about this idiot in July:
Stephen Dunne, 30, of Boston, is seeking $9.75 million in the suit against the Massachusetts Board of Bar Examiners and the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. He was denied a license to practice law in May after scoring 268.866 on the exam, just shy of the 270 passing grade.

Now this bar exam flunky is asking the court to dismiss his bogus claim:

A Boston man has asked a federal court to dismiss his lawsuit in which he claimed that his refusal to answer a Massachusetts bar exam question related to gay marriage caused him to fail the test.

Stephen Dunne, 30, maintained that answering the essay question would have violated his Irish Catholic beliefs and First Amendment rights, because it would imply his support of gay marriage and parenting.

But the kicker is that he claims the Massachusetts Board of Bar Examiners took "corrective action" and didn't include the "offensive" question in the July exam so it did what he wanted them to do, only the board had a different response:
But in court documents filed yesterday, the board’s attorney said the board has “not agreed to limit the content” of any future bar exams. The board’s decision not to include the same question on the July exam “merely reflects their standard practice of not repeating questions on successive bar examinations,” the court filing said.

When will someone file a lawsuit against this flunky who wasted the court's time and money for this ridiculous lawsuit. I'm sure if he ever passes the Massachusetts Bar there will be a line waiting outside his door for his services!

Did Tagg Drop Another Bomb on the Romney Campaign?

There's an article in today's New York Times about Myth Romney's flip flop on gay rights:

Mr. Romney bristles when he is accused of shifting on the issue, as he has on abortion, pointing out that he has been consistent in personally opposing both marriage and civil unions between people of the same sex.
Given what Romney says now, it is interesting that he forgets his support for the Massachusetts Constitutional Amendment in March 2004 which defined marriage as "a union of one man and one woman" AND creates civil unions which would be the same as marriage but under a different name:
Many House Republicans followed Romney's urging to support the measure in order to get something on the ballot, and they provided the crucial margin on the final tally. Senator Jarrett T. Barrios, a Cambridge Democrat, said that means Romney personally can be held responsible for the amendment, even though he has come out against civil unions.

So once again, Romney, instead of taking a stance for "one man/one woman marriage" and against civil unions supported the creation of civil unions because it was better than nothing. There was an interesting section in the NY Times article that struck me:

Mr. Romney’s eldest son, Tagg, 37, says that back in the early 1990s, he told his father privately that he was thinking about becoming a Democrat.

His father sat him down to dissuade him, taking him through the differences between Republicans and Democrats. Tagg Romney says he does not remember his father’s talking about abortion, another issue that has troubled his candidacy, but he does remember being warned that Democrats would lead the country toward same-sex marriage.

Take heed social conservatives! Romney was more concerned about same sex marriage, which hadn't even occurred yet than he was about abortions which were happening for over 2 decades. Was anyone even thinking about same-sex marriage in the early 90"s (other than Romney?)

There also that inconsistent notion of Romney that same-sex marriage is worst than abortion otherwise why would he be for a federal constitutional amendment to ban same sex marriages but not to ban abortions?

Republican Senator Larry Craig Resigns

Republican Senator Larry Craig is announcing his resignation in Boise Idaho right now. He has surrounded himself with his family. The Governor has even showed up.

He's humbled by all the people who are standing next to him. The governor has always stood behind me as he is standing behind him now. (he should have been standing by him in the airport bathroom).

He loves Idaho. He apologizes to his family. Apparently he cannot devote 100% of his time because he's pursuing other legal options. He resigning on Sept. 30th. He said it would be an unfair distraction to Idaho.

He's very humbled by the support he has received from everyone (except the GOP?) He didn't take questions and he's off.

In other news, the bathroom sex protocol has now changed. No longer is tapping your foot under the stall wall appropriate. Now all you have to do is knock on the wall and say "Is that you Senator?"

Live Blogging of Massresistance's Comeback Radio Show

I will try to blog live the Massresistance Radio Show which is being played live on 1330 AM. Right now there is another show going on. Because of my poor language skills I'm not sure what language it is, it sounds like Portuguese but I'm not sure.

There's a short announcement at the beginning at the beginning that it's a paid program and do not represent the opinions station WRCR. Brian has a new costar, some guy named Jeff.

Amy's not on because she's "researching" the Laramie Project in Wyoming. Brian is spouting lies about the play "The Laramie Project". He should team up with Fred Phelps since he doesn't like it either. Brian would like to get the play removed from high schools because of it's violent content.

NEWS!!!! Mad Dad Parker AND C.J. Doyle are going to be on!!!!! (See yesterday's post)

Brian's partner is a guy named Ari (sp?) who apparently does speaking engagements for Massresistance on transgender issues, who knew he was an expert?

They are afraid of the spread of "transgenderism" and desensitizing the public about it. Brian notes that no one else talks about it like they do. Ari and Brian are laughing about gender neutral bathrooms. Brian wants someone to do something about it.

Ari doesn't know what gender neutral means and has problems deciding whether he could use the bathroom or not. Because they record their program they have no comment on Emerson College's move to make their bathrooms gender neutral.

Brian's misrepresenting the nominee for the Mass SJC by saying that she donated money to Gov. Patrick.

Mad Dad Parker is Next!

Brian recounting Mad Dad Parker's arrest because "he was there", doesn't mention that he was snapping pictures of the event. Mad Dad Parker is present in the studio himself (must be taking a break between PR and Chicago). Brian can't believe that a "human being let alone a judge" would write what the judge wrote when he dismissed Parker's federal case. Brian doesn't like that GLSEN and PFlag filed briefs against Parker's appeal.

David Parker is now an expert on transgender issues. "It's all a lie"

Brian thinks the next step for the "homosexual movement" is for to dress like women because they already act like women.

Brian is upset that GLAD is "pushing the envelop" for GLBT people. Parker wants to know what a GLBT family is. I guess he hasn't seen Rosie O'Donnell's family. Brian says that we want to change the definition of family. Brian says this is really "frightening stuff" (he has already used "chilling" at least once.)

Halfway mark: Everyone is "God blessing everyone else" There are no commercials on this show because they are buying the airtime.

C.J. Doyle is on!!!

C.J. is talking about the marriage vote in June and bringing up some story about the Knights of Columbus (this is very old news) upset at the those "Knights" in the Mass. Legislature voting to uphold the MA SJC's decision. C.J. is calling House Leader DeMasi a "defector" from the Catholic Church. Interesting in listening to C.J. talk in that he uses the terms "same sex or same gender" marriage and not "homosexual" marriage (which Brian uses).

CJ wants the Knights of Columbus to rise up and get rid of the Mass Legislators. He wants people who know Knights to call them and tell them to get rid of them. (CJ talks VERY fast likes he's had 5 grandes from StarBucks with extra shots of espresso.)

Brian uses the term "Oh Boy" that's a change from the "Oh Man" which he has made so popular.

Breaktime: Again no sponsors so just some electronic music. BTW, they are not using the widely poplar music at the beginning of their show. I'm guessing it was WTTT's music and they couldn't take it with them.

Their last segment they are talking about the ADL and the "No Place for Hate" Campaign. Brian thinks ADL is inventing things because there is no overt discrimination anymore (he gave examples of Jews being discriminated against when he was younger) Brian thinks that kids put swastika's on things to get attention from higher ups likes Mayors. Brian said he would have done it too to get attention (wow! that's scary)

Ah, now we get to the heart of the hate for ADL, it's because of their collaboration with MassEquality and other "liberal mindsets" Ari just called Rush Limbaugh "The GREAT Rush Limbaugh" I wonder what Ari thinks of doctor shopping for prescription drugs.

Ari talking about the "homosexuals" manufacturing issues like bullying.

The show's over. Some announcer is telling people where to send money to listen.

Another announcement that the view of the following program do not represent the station, the station's staff or the company who owns the station, pretty explicit that they want nothing to do with Massresistance's anti-gay views.

The Gruesome Twosome Are Back On The Air!

I've hesitated to post about Massresistance restarting their anti-gay radio show but since it was featured in Bay Windows I figured I'd mention it here.

They are on a little known radio station with the call letters WRCA 1330 AM that is mainly a foreign language radio station (I guess they haven't heard Brian and Amy's rants on immigration). From Bay Windows:
Stu Fink, station manager for WRCA, said that MassResistance is paying the station to carry their program; he said all of the shows on WRCA pay to lease time from the station.

I'm wondering if on their first show they will talk about all the "Family Value" Republicans who have been caught in sex scandals and the hypocrisy of forcing Senator Craig to resign when nothing was done to Senator Vitter. They really can't talk about much more in this state since none of their anti-gay bills will even see the light of day.

Catch them on Saturdays at 11:00 AM on 1330 AM if the signal reaches that far.

Any bets that tomorrow's show will feature C.J. Doyle and/or Mad Dad Parker?

Mad Dad Parker: From ME to PR to Chicago, What's Next, Broadway?

I had read that Mad Dad Parker was heading off to Chicago to speak at a fundraising dinner for Porno Pete's anti-gay organization. At first Porno Pete's organization was having the "party" on October 6 at a Holiday Inn but then Holiday Inn dropped the reservation due to "potential negative publicity to the hotel" so Porno Pete rescheduled the anti-gay gang bang for the Friday before on October 5th at a place "to be announced":
WHAT: Americans For Truth Dinner Banquet: Celebrating Truth and the Freedom to Be Moral

WHEN: Friday, Oct. 5: Silent Auction 6:00 PM, Dinner 6:45 PM

WHERE: Lombard, Illinois, west of Chicago, location TBA; call AFTAH’s Banquet Coordinator at 312-315-6152 for information on room reservations for those coming from out of state. (It is easy to get cheap flights into Chicago’s O’Hare or Midway airports.)

Sounds a lot like the "fundraising dinners" Article 8/Massresistance/etc... has here in Mass. They can't announce the places because no one wants to be associated with them.

Also, cheap flights to Chicago's O'Hare or Midway airports...I wonder if the police are monitoring those bathrooms, alert them, it will probably be a busy weekend. Are they inviting Senator Craig?

Craig's Lust: Casual Encounters: M4M

Things are just getting worse for Senator Larry Craig. The AP just released the following story:

WASHINGTON - The officer who arrested Sen. Larry Craig in a police undercover operation at an airport men's room accused the senator of lying to him during an interrogation afterward, according to an audiotape of the arrest.

On the tape, released Thursday by the Minneapolis Airport Police, the Idaho Republican senator, in turn, accuses the officer of soliciting him for sex.

When I first heard about Senator Craig's activities in the airport men's room I must admit that I was a bit joyous, another hypocrite, spouting about high moral values, married with children and seeking anonymous sex from another man in a bathroom.

Then it just got sadder and uglier. He held a news conference proclaiming he wasn't gay (OK, maybe he's bisexual) and that he didn't know why he pleaded guilty and didn't retain counsel (and this guy's a U.S. Senator!!) is he stupid? Then more stories come out about his dalliances in other places, all public.

All of sudden the GOP (Gay Ole Party?) is asking for his resignation and now it comes out that he was lying to the police after his arrest and blaming him for entrapment, why didn't he mention this at his press conference?

This story has many different angles: another closeted homophobe bashing gays in public and privately seeking their touch; GOP legislators asking for Craig's resignation yet looking the other way on Senator Vitter's "massages" from an opposite sex prostitute; and a pathetic 62 year old man not being able to face his true self and hating himself so much that he has anonymous encounters in public places and practically begging to get caught.

So sad. It reminded me of a book I read by John Grisham called The Brethren although in the book the closeted gay Republican is running for President. I think it's about time the GOP stopped attacking gays.

Let the Babies Wed?

When it comes to gay couples, Arkansas seemed to have no trouble writing up a constitutional amendment to ban them from legally declaring their love and marrying. Well, the same legislature, who I assumed wrote the ban on same sex couples marrying, passed a law allowing anyone, even infants, to marry if they have their parent's permission:

The legislation was intended to establish 18 as the minimum age to marry but also allow pregnant teenagers to marry with parental consent, bill sponsor Rep. Will Bond said. An extraneous "not" in the bill, however, allows anyone who is not pregnant to marry at any age if the parents allow it.

"It's clearly not the intent to allow 10-year-olds or 11-year-olds to get married," Bond said. "The legislation was screwed up."

Maybe someone needs to take another look at the gay marriage ban in the state...

How Soon Can We Expect This in Massachusetts?

I read this post on Pam's House Blend and I can't say that I was surprised. I wonder how soon we can expect anti-gay stuff happening here in Massachusetts:
Anti-gay activists crash worship services
A conservative Christian values group has been interrupting services at two central Ohio churches to protest their support for homosexuality.

Minutemen United vowed to attend services every Sunday.

Ah yes, "Christians" at work, no one is safe until everyone succumbs to their beliefs.

Where DOES Massresistance's Money Go?

This is one of those times when it is so clearly evident that Ms. Massresistance and her ilk are really pure unadulterated evil:

Dragging Our Youth To Suicide

"The 2nd annual drag kickball game was held [in Provincetown] to raise money for the National Suicide Prevention Hotline for Gay and Lesbian Teenagers." - Cape Cod Times, 8-8-07

Comment: This is the sort of thing that would drive our children to
suicide, not prevent it. Please, can't they just stop?

No, Amy. In your warped perception of reality, watching people dressing up like women and playing kickball to raise money for at risk youth is not why children committ suicide and you should be embarrassed to even joke about something like. A comment like that just proves how incredibly ignorant and insensitive you really are. I would love to know when the last time Massresistance, who is constantly asking for money, has donated any of it to actually protecting children instead of lining the pockets of Brian Camenker and Amy Contrada for their "volunteering".

When was the last time you read about Massresistance actually helping children and NOT videotaping them? Do any of you recall what Massresistance's spin was when a shooter went into a New Bedford bar and starting shooting because gay people were there?

Once again, they are refusing to take responsibility for their hateful message that they spread. They continue to go after GLBT youth by photographing them and posting them on their website.

For all those people against the wearing of drag (and you know who you are), if you're a woman and you wear pants, you're doing DRAG sweetheart. Women used to be arrested for wearing man pants. Where was Article 8/Massresistance etc... then?

Show me a man in woman's drag and I'll show you a Presidential candidate.
