Well, Massachusetts' absentee governor held his presidential campaign rally, er, anti-gay marriage rally today in front of the State House. (From the looks of it, I wonder if tax payer money was used to put together this heinous show of discrimination?) All the news stories so far have said "hundreds" of people showed up on both sides. Me thinks they didn't get the turnout they were hoping for. Even Cardinal O'Malley and Ex-Boston Mayor Ray Flynn got about a thousand in 2004 for their hate fest.
I think it's funny that Romney, who has about a 30% approval rating in this state is trying to "lead the masses". He didn't do it four years ago and he can't do it today.
Yes, Governor, soon you will be history. I'm sure you won't be forgetting that two weeks ago Massachusetts voters overwhelming chose a Pro-Marriage equality candidate for the corner office. Your hand picked Lt. Governor floundered terribly. The Republican party you said you were going to built in the state has sunk to lows not seen since the Civil war. (Does anyone remember Ron Crews who ran the Mass Family Institute ran for state wide office, lost miserably and left the state?)
Yes, Governor, the people HAVE voted and you lost. BUH BYE!

Schadenfruede: taking pleasure in someone else's pain.
Romney's been out of the state so long that I'm surprised he knew how to get to the State House. I read on another blog that the gates to the front steps of the State House have been closed to the public since 9/11 and this bozo opens them only to bash a group of people.
what do you mean he "lost" ? 4 yrs ago he won the election. that is why he is governor, right? he did not run this term so how could he lose? anyway...
To anonymous above. I'd consider that Romney lost: his Lt. Governor who ran on his accomplishments, didn't win. He said two years ago that he was going to beef up the GOP in Massachusetts, he was defeated then. As the Head GOP person in the state, he lost more Reps and Sen. in the past election. As head of the GOP Gov. Group he lost more states to the Dems. Yeah, I would say he lost.
I had a good laugh over that picture of him as Dr. Evil. Mitt decided to leave office to run for President, man does he have delusions of grandure! He could not win a re-election here, let alone for our presidency. The south being the bigots they are will nt listen to him say he is a Christian. They will only see an outsider from a religion they do not understand, and don't want to. I find this poetic justice that bigotry will be visited upon him in the end.
I think John is right about the South and Romney's Mormonism. The Southern Baptist kids I grew up with in Brevard, NC were very intolerant of Mormons and did not consider them Christians at all. Mormons were held in the same disdain as atheists and pagans. There were some Mormons around our town and they seemed quite nice (at the time), less judgemental than the Baptists, though this does not seem to be the case when Mormons are in the majority, as described by a friend in Utah. Apparently, when staring a conversation with an person they do not know many Mormons there will reach out and rub the person's shoulder checking for cotton undergarments of protection.
I'm so glad to have no religion!
