Who is Linda Harvey?

Because she's made as hell and isn't going to take it anymore! Linda is an anti-gay activist. She was supposed to appear at MassResistance's "forum" last year when Acton-Boxborough High school was putting on the "Laramie Project". Linda also signed MassResistance's letter last year criticizing Mitt Romney.

She, like Brian Camenker, founded and is the head of her own anti-gay organization "Mission America". What qualifies her to lead a ministry against homosexuality? Well, she's got a BA in English and experience in journalism, marketing and public relations that's what!

Well, it seems Mrs. Harvey is upset that Box Turtle Bulletin posted her picture on their website (I think she needs to chat with MassResistance and exchange notes about posting pictures):

I guess the whole thing started when Box Turtle Bulletin posted her rantings about the Day of Silence and exposed her:

She claims that “Child molestation is an everyday occurrence because of the increased access homosexuals have to our children” and advocates banning gay people from teaching (a position so radical that Ronald Reagan opposed it in 1978).

She claims that the vast majority of gay people are only employed sporadically due to their instability.

She believes that HIV is “almost exclusively a homosexual male and drug addict epidemic” and advocates that “gay social establishments should close until HIV rates are seriously reduced”.

She claims that for a Pastor to believe that gay persons can be Christian “is deliberate rebellion against God’s word and His created order of male/female genders and marriage.”

It's always nice when "Christians" feel the need to take on God's work and judge others. Thanks to Box Turtle Bulletin for keeping up with this and Pam's House Blend for catching my attention to it.

7 Months and Still Counting

MassResistance is still teasing us their sidebars:

It has now been over 7 months since we've heard the monotone duo over the airwaves. (However, you can catch a horrendous video of Brian Camenker on Fox News over at their website. It's very dreadful but this is what keeps them going, the potential of appearing on national TV)

Now I'm wondering if they'll ever be back on the air. What radio station would give a nationally recognized hate group any time (even paid time) to air their hate filled rantings? If you're new to this blog, MassResistance was named a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Alas, Saturdays are never the same!

BTW, if you're still getting their emails, send them along. They seemed to have left me off their email lists.

Silence Was Not Golden

Boston.com is reporting on a monument in Berlin to the tens of thousands of homosexuals persecuted under the Nazis, whose laws were used to prosecute gay men for a generation after World War Two:

Berlin mayor Klaus Wowereit, who is openly gay, hailed the grey, concrete memorial as a long overdue acknowledgement of the repression of homosexuals, 50,000 of whom were convicted by Nazi courts during Adolf Hitler's 12-year dictatorship.

"The monument consecrated today is a reminder to us of the horrors of the past and draws our attention to the degree of discrimination that currently exists," Wowereit said.

Of course there are still people in this country, who blame gay people for the atrocities that happened in Nazi Germany.

MassResistance Triumphs

MassResistance has finally had success in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts:
Mass. Senate spits on parents - unanimously approves huge funding increases for homosexual programs in schools. Even "good" senators caved in. Leadership
used sleazy maneuver to avoid debate. Homosexual lobby triumphs.

Their constant harassment of the Massachusetts State Senate has finally paid off. Just last week they were bragging at having people from OTHER COUNTRIES emailing, faxing and calling OUR state legislators.

Do you think the Massachusetts Legislature is now aware that MassResistance is a recognized hate group? YES! And I'm sure our State Legislators just experienced a little of bit the hatred that these bigots spew forth daily at GLBT people. I imagine that they overwhelming approved the increase in funding for at risk youth knowing that dangerous people like MassResistance are out there.

Thank you Brian and Amy. Keep up the good work.

Jeff Jacoby: Yawn!

Jeff Jacoby once again treads into the arena of Marriage Equality in California now (did his children already reach all their milestones?):

Reasonable men and women can disagree on whether same-sex unions should be granted legal recognition, or whether such recognition should rise to the level of marriage. The place to work out those disagreements is the democratic arena, not the courtroom.

He claims there are numerous reasons to override the California court's decision but humbly only give us three. When I read the above paragraph I laughed out loud since the California legislature has already sent to the Governor, not once, but twice, a marriage equality bill and the Governor vetoed it deferring to the upcoming Court's decision.

But more offensive is his continuing argument that same sex marriage is a slippery slope (has it happened here in Massachusetts now that same sex couples have been getting married for 4 YEARS? Maybe he's thinking of Utah or Texas which don't have marriage equality).

Society has a vested interest in promoting only traditional marriage.

Men and women are not interchangeable, and same-sex unions - no matter how devoted and enduring - cannot take the place of a married husband and wife. The essential function of marriage is to unite male and female. That is the only kind of union that can produce new life, and therefore the only kind of union in which society
has a survival stake.

Again with the "produce new life" BS. Marriage was about property Jeff, did you forget that, that's why society started it. Jeff, when only fertile, potential child bearing couples, who agree only to marry to have children are allowed to marry, then, I think you'd be able to make this argument. It's discrimination when an opposite sex couple who have just met are able to get married and reap the thousands of special benefits marriages entitles them to and a same sex couple, together for decades, for better or worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, and in most cases in death, get nothing.

MassResistance Still Taking Video of Youth Against their Will

MassResistance is presenting another dizzy video of Youth Pride last week. Since Brian and Amy have been outed as haters they can no longer show their anti-gay mugs around gay pride events without incident so they have another set of anti-gay videographers to stalk gay youth and photograph them.

If you have the stomach, I'd recommend you watch the video just so you can see how lame the video is. Of course, MassResistance is credited at the beginning of the video but they are apparently upset that they were pointed out at the rally.

I would also like to note how the people who were videotaping the rally lie to the youth. First they tell them they're recording a public event, they they say they're press, then they say their independent media and then they say that they're tourists. Yeah, that's the ticket! Although it's quite typical of them to lie about who they are.

As Massachusetts Goes, So Goes the Nation

Yes, now that California's court has ruled that all people are equal under the law, Mass Institute Against Gays is coming out of hiding (will they ever align with the nationally recognized hate group MassResistance?) But Governor Patrick said it best:

"Our experience in Massachusetts has taught us that whenever we affirm the right of people to come before their government as equals, we all win," Patrick said. "I congratulate the California court for upholding that principle."

Massachusetts is indeed a prime example of what happens when you give people equality. All the dire predictions people like Kris Mineau and Ron Crews (remember him?) made about the Commonwealth after Marriage Equality never happened.

Ironically, tomorrow is the fourth anniversary of Marriage Equality and all that has happened is more people are protected under the eyes of the law. We can be very proud.

This new ruling (by a majority of Republican appointed judges I might add) will mean the spotlight will be on Massachusetts once again and we can raise our head high and take heart in knowing that we lead the way.

BTW, while none of the presidential canidates support marriage equality, none of the candiates (Republican or Demoncratic) support the federal marriage amendment either!

Congrats California!

Who's Really Disconnected?

MassResistance is now touting that the Massachusetts Legislators are "disconnected". MassResistance is so far right that even conservative Republicans are dissing them and yet they say that the legislature is out of touch!!! ROFLMAO!

Commentary [Updated]:
What we must do now The Massachusetts Legislature really doesn't get it. These public officials are disconnected from reality. MassResistance

Oh, they also list the 10 (that's right, 10 legislators voted against increasing funding for at risk teens) Reps who appears to support them:

Rep.BradleyJones@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2100 Rep.JohnLepper@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2100

Rep.VinnydeMacedo@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2100
Rep.LewisEvangelidis@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2263
Rep.MaryRogeness@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2100
Rep.GeorgePeterson@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2100

Rep.JeffreyPerry@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2396
Rep.ElizabethPoirier@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2976

Rep.KarynPolito@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2230
Rep.DanielWebster@Hou.State.MA.US 617 722-2487

I'm not sure why these legislators voted against the funding, however, I would like to know if they support the MassResistance, the nationally recognized hate group. I feel a State House visit coming on! We've got some educating to do!

The Voice of the Hate Groups?

Ryan Sorba, he appears to be the savior of the young Republicans everywhere, well, at least according to radical Right.

MassResistance has been talking up his "book" on the born gay theory and tailing him so closely that...(you can use your own methaphor).

By now, some of you have heard about the demonstration at Smith College when Sorba spoken about his "upcoming" book (uncoming doesn't have a timeframe on it does it?) For the record, Ryan Sorba, has been trolling the country looking for the type of fight he got at Smith College for awhile. Here's an email he sent to me in 2006:

Hey Bud,
From: Ryan Sorba

From: COLLEGE REPUBLICANS amendcali@yahoo.com

To: gayboyscout@aol.com

Date: Sat, 16 Sep 2006 11:18 pm

Ryan Sorba here, from the conservative revolution! Hey, I read what you wrote about me on the internet, well, guess what.......? It turns out that I am in Mass. right now, -your home state! You sound quite sure of your pro-homosexual stance, so, I
challenge you to a full scale, public, academic debate! I will be in the Boston area until around Nov. 10th, organizing new conservative student groups on Boston college campus's. I am certain that one of these new groups would love to host the debate. Any time, any place, just let me know! You can email me at amendcali@yahoo.com with your response!

P.S. The conservative revolution is upon us!!!!!

Of course, I had never heard of this Sorba guy and did a search of my own blog to find out that someone had written in the comments section about him (shows how good his research really is huh!)

I did respond back:

Thanks but no thanks. I wouldn't debate anyone who can't even tell the difference between comments to a post and the post itself. I don't know or even care who you are. From a quick google search I might suggest you contact Massresistance.com since it appears you and they have a lot in common, namely, a tendency to twist the truth. Good luck on your recruiting, hope you get the toaster.

Bud

Wow, to think I may have brought these two together! Call me Dolly Levi! Of course as you would expect, he responded in a very professional manner:

Your just too chicken to engage in an academic debate with someone who knows the Kirk and Madsen, Karl Ulrich's, Jan Clausen, Audre Lorde, Lillian Faderman secrets of the homosexual political movement! Bak, Bak, Bak.......Bak, Bak, Bak.....

My book will be done in June! Then you will be forced to defend the lies that have been propagated by the homosexualist movement.

P.S. That was a good line about the toaster, but we are pretty heavily funded.

P.S. 2, Homosexualists all seem afraid to debate me, so, I guess I will just have to
give another speech on the "Born Gay" Hoax the Dangers of Homosexual Behavior,
and Natural Law..........and no one will be there to defend your views...oh
well, I tried.

Ryan

and one more response:

bak, bak, bak, too bad you know your wrong, and you are to afraid to debate!!!!!!!

Ryan,

So clearly, this person was searching for a fight. It's probably no coincidence that Ryan Sorba speaks before groups who are considered Hate groups by the Southern Poverty Law Center. MassResistance, who was doing PR for Sorba's "speech", was named a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center in 2008.

Finally, Ms. MassResistance Has Once Again Spoken

We were all wondering whether she had been kidnapped and taken away. Alas, our hopes were dashed when after being silent for a month, MassResistance reared its ugly heads to write about an "incident" at Smith College:

Yes, the homofascists would like our latest expose of the lesbian riot at Smith College last week to just go away (see the revealing videos.) . . . because it's about something much bigger than they want to admit. See Americans for Truth's eloquent explanation:

Of course this is exactly what Brian and Amy have been waiting for (the 4th anniversary of the legal same sex marriages is coming up and MassResistance has nothing to hold as an example of the anarchy going on in the Commonwealth!). They had kept pushing their "Gay Hoax Story" at Framingham State but they couldn't get their grubby little hands on any controversial footage to use. In fact this is what they had to say about that "speech":

As often happens at these kinds of speeches, it appeared that nearly all of the homosexual activists had never heard these arguments before. They were clearly affected by them. You could see the confusion (and a little anger) in their eyes as their ideological world was being taken apart. Plus, they were so used to dealing with this issue in an emotional and illogical way that they are rhetorically crippled when forced to deal on a logical and factual basis.

As usual, Brian and Amy can read people's minds and know what they were thinking, except, I guess at Smith College. The also show their ignorance by quoting from the UMass Amherst Republican Club. Apparently they must think that genital cutting is a good thing and isn't an important matter for people to know about. Should we cut them some slack because they are mentally challenged? And I wonder that the UMASS Republican Club thinks about being cheered on by a noted Hate Group?
