The Sky is Falling, the Sky is Falling!

What do you do when you throw a "Mr. Hetero" contest and nobody cares? You sue to make more headlines (from World Nut Daily):

A Massachusetts pastor who organized a pro-family event called "Mr. Heterosexual 2006 "A Celebration of God's Design" is suing the city of Worcester for requiring him to pay for the cost of police protection" $6,200 based on the city's assumption protesters would show up.
The guy was probably hoping protestors would show up, what do they they about a tree falling in the forest? Of course Article 8 can't just sit on the sidelines, they got something posted on AgapePress yesterday:

The group Article 8 Alliance reports that those entering the rally in Mechanics Hall were subjected to "airport-style security searches and other things which no other event at that hall ever requires." Also featured during the event was Jonathan Owens, a 22-year-old former homosexual who shared his testimony how a relationship with Jesus Christ had led out of that lifestyle.

Alliance president Brian Camenker says Christians throughout the nation should be outraged and concerned.

But Brian's big quote was at the end:

"This story hasn't ended yet, believe me," he says. "But this is the kind of infuriating thing that is happening in Massachusetts and is probably going to start happening around the country ... when these gay activists decide that they want to close down Christian events that they don't agree with."
Haven't we heard this before? Like about a million times! In just about everything Article 8 puts out, he's Chicken Little "The sky is falling, the sky is falling" Uh...when?

The wandering band of homosexual activists maiming (Mame-ing) and (night)clubbing where ever they go, closing down churches and events at will. Who will stop them????

If You Don't Like the Outcome, Change the Rules!

What was the anti-gay marriage crowd yelling at the past constitutional conventions? Was it:
Let the People Vote
Well, in Maryland, college students elected a lesbian as Homecoming King:

Jennifer Jones, the 21-year-old senior who beat out three men for the honor, said the crowning was a positive step for the private liberal arts college.

"It is cool that Hood allows people to be themselves," Jones told The Frederick News-Post. "If people didn't want me to be king, they wouldn't have nominated me and voted for me."

However, that is not good enough:
Donald Miller, Hood's student activities director, said all homecoming events will be reviewed and possibly changed. "We will look at what students want Hood's homecoming to be," he said.
Uh, Donald, Mr. Miller... I think the students voted for Ms. Jones to be King. But I get it, as long as the people who vote, vote the way their supposed to vote then it's ok. The silliest quote from the article is given by a male who was running for Homecoming king:
Santo Provenzano, 21, who competed for king, said Jones' selection made the event seem like a joke. "It discourages guys from wanting to take part in the future," he said.
And just having a Homecoming Queen or King isn't a joke? Didn't those things go out with separate water fountains?

Discrimination: Good, Following the Law: Bad

Willard, aka, Gov. Mitt, is still trying to figure out how to let the Boston Catholic Church discriminate. In an article in the GLOBE yesterday he said:

"The church through its Catholic Charities provides an extraordinary service to the commonwealth by placing many special needs children every year in homes," Romney told reporters. "That's a service I hope we will continue to be able to avail ourselves of."

Excuse me Governor... same sex couples were willingly adopting special needs children that Catholic Charities couldn't place with opposite sex couples.

Simply put, the Catholic Church wants to play, but only its terms. (Of course, the Church wants the benefit of the civil law and courts when there's a cap on liability for charitable organizations, but not the burden of having to adhere to a policy of non-discrimination when it doesn't like the protected people.)

And how dare the Church threaten us with refusing to do any adoptions; and how dare the head of our civil society, the Governor, quickly sacrifice our society's values (non-discrimination).

We're still a civil society governed by laws. Carving out exceptions that violate our values doesn't encourage religious freedom; it establishes it.

What is the Cost of Bishop O'Malley's Hate?

The Boston Globe is reporting today that the archdiocese's ban on same sex couples adopting could cost the church millions of dollars in donations which goes to helping poor and needy individuals (well, that and the lawyers the Church are hiring to defend their blatent discrimination):
The consequence of the bishops' decision, however, is that many philanthropic institutions may have to pull funding because they are bound by internal antidiscrimination rules, said Micho Spring, the former chairwoman of United Way of Massachusetts Bay and chairwoman of New England Weber Shandwick Worldwide, a public relations firm. She was also one of board members who resigned.
When Former Vatican Ambassador Ray Flynn was asked on PBS's Greater Boston about the Vatican's statement that "gay couples who adopt cause violence to children" what did he say? Did he agree? NO, he said that he did not believe that was true. There you go, the man who is one of the leaders of the Vote On Marriage Amendment does not believe that same sex couples cause violence to children.
Dr. Albert Bundy, 54, a Boston radiologist who calls himself a practicing Catholic, said he has decided to halt his contributions to Catholic Charities, which totaled a few thousand dollars in the last few decades. He said he had believed Catholic Charities was an independent agency helping the needy, but the latest decision demonstrated to him that the agency is controlled by the archdiocese, which he described as ''out of touch" with the realities of today's complex society. Gay people, he said, have shown themselves to be good parents, particularly to some of the neediest children.

I'm Just A Bill and I'm Sitting Here on Boston's Beacon Hill

Oh, another pathetic radio show (with matching email) from Article 8/Massresistance. Where to start?

They had on State Rep. Elizabeth Poirier (a graduate of Johnson & Wales University, home to the coveted culinary arts & hospitality degrees) talking about Bill H1641, the bill requiring health for high school students. It was funny how she equated same sex marriage being legal in Massachusetts to the introduction of this health bill because Health education was a requirement to graduation in Massachusetts decades before same sex couples could marry. Article 8 takes credit for getting that requirement removed in the 90's. Rep. Poirier must have been getting her ingredients mixed up.

They also had someone on (didn't get his name) trying to recruit anti-gay candidates on the radio for the Massachusetts House & Senate. He suggested people call Brian Camenker if they want to run, I second that motion. There is nothing better for us than an endorsement from Article 8.

Finally, Amy repeated a list of bills people are supposed to call the legislature on. I've listed a few of the bad bills here so call or write your legislator to get the following bills defeated:

H1050 -Educational committee- Opt-in / parental rights in education for sex ed. All students should be taught health education since its obvious that some heterosexual parents aren't doing their job.

H652 -Judical committee- Bill of Address to constitutionally remove four oppressive judges who illegally imposed same-sex "marriage" on Massachusetts. You'll get a good laugh when they tell you it will never pass anyway.

S316 -Education Committee -- School surveys. Would have parents opt in their children for school surveys.

H654 -Judiciary Committee - Legal nullification of same-sex "marriages" performed since May 17, 2004. It's amazing that Article 8/Massresistance keep saying that same sex marriage don't exist yet they want to pass a law that say that the same sex marriages that don't exist, really don't exist.

H653: -Judiciary Committee- This bill would officially -- in law -- define marriage as one man and one woman, with no civil unions allowed. This law would immediately be deemed unconstitutional.

More Christian Than the Clergy

7 people have resigned from Catholic Charities because of the Massachusetts Bishops who want the state to allow them to discriminate at will:

In a statement, the seven board members said they were "deeply troubled" by the bishops' request, and said it "undermines our moral priority of helping vulnerable children find loving homes.

"We also cannot participate in an effort to pursue legal permission to discriminate against Massachusetts citizens who want to play a part in building strong families," the statement read.

Three of the former members were on Emily Rooney's PBS show tonight. From the show I learned that the children placed with same sex couples were special needs children, children that would otherwise not be placed in homes because the majority of the people who go to Catholic Charities (heterosexuals) don't want them. So the Bishops would rather keep these kids in foster homes or orphanages than place them with loving parents.

Or maybe the church just wants to hold onto to the kids for themselves since they've done such a wonder job with all the children they've "touched" throughout the years.

True heros and Christians:
  • Geri Denterlein, President of Denterlein Worldwide Public Affairs
  • Donna Gittens, chief executive officer, causemedia;
  • Paul LaCamera, general manager, the WBUR group;
  • Brian Leary, partner, Gadsby Hannah;
  • Peter Meade, executive vice president, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts;
  • Colette Phillips, president and CEO, Colette Phillips Communications;
  • Micho Spring, chairman, Weber Shandwick New England.
The church is not a bigot in a red hat, it's the people. As Peter Meade said on Emily's show tonight (and I'm paraphrasing): "God died on the cross for all the people, he didn't say everyone except for Steve and Tom or Susan and Kathy" Can the Catholic Clergy be anymore unchristian?

Lions & Gays & Swingers OH MY!

You know it's a glorious day when you connect to Massresistance and she leads you to gay cruising spots! Who do you think at Article 8/Massresistance had the pleasure of surfing the internet for gay cruising spots? Do you think they made a road trip? Of course they don't link directly to the site but they do tell you exactly how to get there:
We will not post the direct link to that website, since it is disgusting and pornographic. But if you want to know where this activity is taking place in your own community, you can Google it directly ("gay cruising" + Massachusetts).
I looked through some of the places and the responses actually seemed like jokes to me. Then I wondered how many "straight" men are going to these places. You know the type, married with children, signs marriage petitions, not comfortable with being gay that they have to skip out on the wife and go to these places to have anonymous sex. My gut reaction is that the people going to these places do not identify as gay either. (Do you remember the Christian Preacher who said one thing but did another???)

Do you think they happened to Google (swingers + Massachusetts) for a list of heterosexual couples who "swing" too? You might find a couple you even go to church with too!

Still More Stories You Won't Read

on Article 8 or Massresistance:

Once again, I'm not saying that all heterosexuals are bad....wink wink.

If you're a first time reader you might think that I am heterophobic (is that a word?). Alas, I'm just doing what the anti-gay people like Article 8, Massresistance, AFA, FRC, etc... do, posting outrageous articles and trying to stereotype a whole group of people from some wild stories. While the stories are true I would never purport to blame all heterosexuals for the actions of a few.

But We Like Brett Somers!

My husband and I were listening to Massresistance: The Radio Show this morning. No we weren't doing penance. We hadn't listened to the painfully boring show in awhile (Paul Harvey kicked them out of their usual timespot) but today our Saturday's gay agenda changed.

And for one brief second we felt sad for Brian Camenker. Oh it's not like you think. We felt sad for him like we feel sad for the "reality TV stars" who are in the media for one brief shining moment then pushed to the dustbin of mediocrity. Brian Camenker is like Brett Somers, a has been that never was. He's like the child jumping up and down in the back of the room screaming for attention while the teacher moves on, or in this case, Massachusetts moves on. Oh, he's called upon to make the occasional weird comment in some obscure newspaper but for the most part his 13 minutes of fame is gone (personally I think he peaked on Comedy Central).

Today they complained (for a good part of the hour) about the two new principals hired by the Newton School System because they are openly gay. The thought that these two individuals were qualified never entered the conversation.

Talk about real sadness.

Dr. King dreamed of a day when people would be judged by the content of their character; and not the color of their skin. I believe his late wife, a civil rights leader in her own right and a champion of GLBT equality and dignity, would have added "and who you choose to love" as part of Dr. King's dream. Cheers to the Newton School system that seeks to hire the best and brightest without regard to color, creed, or sexual orientation; and jeers to those still stuck in the past.

Has beens that never were indeed.

Church Hires Law Firm To Find Legal Way To Discriminate

Yesterday's GLOBE reported that the Catholic Church of Massachusetts is hiring a law firm to sue the state so that the Catholic Church can discriminate however it wishes. In this specific case the law firm will explore legal and political strategies for opting out of gay adoptions. It must be because same sex couples are taking away so many children from needy heterosexual couples. Oh, and how is the church going to pay for the law firm that is going to explore ways for the Catholic Church to discriminate? Well today's Globe explains that:
Representatives of the archdiocese and Catholic Charities said on Thursday that funds to pay for the legal strategy were coming from Catholic Charities budget, which surprised some board members.
How interesting, money that people gave to the Catholic Charities to fund "basic needs" is now going to lawyers to find ways to discriminate:
Catholic Charities provides basic needs services to more than 150,000 people each year. These services include food and fuel assistance, which is of greater concern this year than ever before. Visit our basic needs services page to find but what Catholic Charities is doing in your community and how you can help....
The same church that is using money from a charity to fund lawyers to find ways to discriminate also said:

Well, it must be that there is an overwhelming majoring of same sex couples taking children away from the needy heterosexual couples. Survey says:

Of the 720 adoptions that group has completed in the past 20 years, only 13 have gone to same-sex couples. Those adopted were all foster children who were considered hard to place because they had special needs or were older.

Or less than 2% of all the adoptions for the past 20 years!

Maybe the church just thinks that children who are old and/or have special needs don't deserve families or are "inherently evil". It sounds like the church should not be in the adoption business period. Funny all this is announced right after the bill requiring churches to disclose their finances is defeated. What else is the Church trying to hide now and who will they sue to discriminate against next?

Will It Do More Than the Gym?

CNN is reporting:

Same-sex partnerships may be good for couples

Doctors already know that marriage benefits the health of both sexes in a variety of ways. British scientists said civil partnerships for gay and lesbian couples were likely to offer similar advantages.

"Marriage confers health benefits on men and women and similar benefits could arise from same-sex civil unions," said Professor Michael King, of London's Royal Free and University College Medical School, in a study published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health.

But then again most anti-gay groups that are against same sex couples marrying are also hoping that we will get ill and die out anyway. They don't want same sex couples getting health benefits from their partners which is one of the material perks of marriage.

More Stories You Won't Read on Massresistance

Massresistance and Article 8 are always so quick to point at any story in the paper and blame it on gay and lesbian people but they shy away from any story that includes heterosexuals and sex. I'm always amazed at how much they focus on us when they claim we're only 1% or so of the population. You'd think they'd spend their efforts on helping the other 99% (their estimates)of the population. So here are some more stories you won't read on either Massresistance or Article 8:

Once again, I'm not saying that ALL heterosexuals are bad people, of course their are exceptions to the rule. However, if one was to use Massresistance & Article 8's logic, heterosexuals should not be allowed to have children nor care for them. Additionally, from these stories (and there are much more out there) they are obsessed with sex and violence.

But I'm A Christian...

You know it's gotta be true when you read it on the Agape Press "Reliable News from a Christian Source":

Two Christian parents say their son was a victim of homosexual indoctrination at the prestigious "Governor's School of North Carolina."

The Governor's School of North Carolina describes itself as "program for intellectually gifted high school students, integrating academic disciplines, the arts, and unique courses." But one North Carolina couple is suffering some after effects of their son's involvement in the program. Jim and Beverly Burrows say after their son attended a Governor's School seminar called "The New Gay Teenager," he began telling them he was unsure of his "sexual orientation."

I just don't get it. I NEVER took a course on homosexuality. I am an Eagle scout. I played sports in high school and I even took a health class which focused on heterosexual sex and its perils and I NEVER was confused about my sexuality.

The only thing I could get from this story is that gay people must be better teachers.

If Only It Was Science Fiction!

It almost seems like a scene from the original Star Trek:
If everything you say is lie and you say "you are lying" then you are telling the truth but you said you are lying...
Except of course the "logic" is from those other far out space nuts: Article 8 and Massresistance. Last week they were pointing out the the anti-gay, Nazi loving shooter was a "Violent, troubled punk":

The 18-year-old punk who attacked innocent people in a bar was clearly a mess, a Neo-Nazi wannabe, his room full of anti-black and anti-Semitic garbage (doesn't mention anything about shooting gay people). He went to a school for kids with discipline problems. The state had investigated his home in 2000 on suspicions of child neglect. A young man with serious mental health issues and social problems. Sick people exist in a world of their own. It's not anyone else's fault what a crazy man does.

And they were upset when the head of the NGLTF said:
Statement by Matt Foreman, Executive Director National Gay and Lesbian Task Force
"The hatred and loathing fueling this morning's vicious attack on gay men in New Bedford is not innate, it is learned. And who is teaching it? Leaders of the so-called Christian right, that's who. Individuals like James Dobson of Focus on the Family, the Family Research Council's Tony Perkins, the Rev. Pat Robertson and their ilk are obsessed with homosexuality. They use their vast resources, media networks and affiliated pulpits to blame lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people for all the ills of society. They disguise their hatred as 'deeply held religious beliefs.' We have witnessed seven years of vicious anti-LGBT organizing in Massachusetts — and endured the hate-filled rantings of Brian Camenker of the Article 8 Alliance and Parents Rights Coalition and Ed Pawlick of MassNews. The blood spilled this morning is on their hands."

While they don't like being linked to anti-gay violence, in countless posts and articles they are continuously trying to link the whole gay community to anything and anyone bad on the planet. From a their "friend" Joe:
The journalist also implies that the Roman Catholic Church is scapegoating gays for the scandals. I believe research will prove that most of the abuse was done by priests with sexually mature victims and that much of the abuse was male-to-male. (The constant refrain we hear is, "Oh, that's different, those priests weren't gay -- they were pedophiles.") I believe most of those responsible for the abuse can be classified as gay. If this is the case the Church should be heralded for rooting out this problem.
Of course Joe has no data just "speculation" because of his personal views on gay people. Or this:

And now in California's Bay area, public restrooms must play host to transsexual-transgendered freak shows. (Read the story in WorldNetDaily.) Imagine your little girl in the ladies' room as she observes a man/woman using the facilities. Bad enough little boys have to worry about homosexual pedophiles in men's restrooms. But now, even the ladies' rooms are unsafe!
What sources does she has that pedophiles in restrooms are gay, did they self identify? But of course the stereotyping isn't only linked to gay men:

The Springfield Republican reports that two women have been charged with the rape and assault of another woman, in a "sexual encounter that a prosecutor said started out consensual and turned into a rape involving handcuffs and knives."

The details of this sordid encounter remind us that one of the dangers of the lesbian "lifestyle" is a higher incidence of domestic violence than in heterosexual relationships. It also brings to mind just how dangerous the kinky, pansexual world can become, and how quickly people can slide down that slippery slope into dangerous perversions, including the sort of sadism described in the article

Or to gay people:

Isn't encouraging the homosexual lifestyle among our young people priestly child abuse, in another form?

But I'm the one with the "rage and angry energy".

Unfortunate Questions

The latest news is that the shooter who entered a gay bar in New Bedford and started shooting is now dead. Unfortunately, he killed a police officer and a passenger in a vehicle he was driving before he was killed. He ended up in Arkansas, where the shootout occurred.

There is much speculation at how this could have happened. How his parents say that they had no idea what he was up to even though he had Nazi flags in his bedroom and a website which proclaimed his hate. Are his parents responsible at all?

Only last week we saw many people cram into the Statehouse to debate a bill about about teaching health to children. The opponents of bill want to leave it up to the parents. They say they want the parents to teach the children about the moral lessons of life not the educators. What happened here? Who's fault is it? How do we fix it? In this instance the parents failed, or did they?

Saturday, February 4, 2006

Out, damned spot! out, I say!

How glorious, Ms. Massresistance is now ranting because of the hate crime in New Bedford.

Yes, it was the vicious act of one degenerate. But no, "opinion" has no role to play here! Use of that word implies that people who hold opinions critical of special rights for homosexuals are indeed dangerous, but they just don't happen to live in New Bedford!
That's right, they live in Acton and Newton and even Little ole Provincetown. She tries to wash the blood off her hands by once again playing the victim (a part she loves to play) and asks:

What does the political and moral argument over "gay marriage" have to do with some crazy guy's meltdown?
Why? Well, because people like her are constantly verbally attacking gays and lesbians. Calling us depraved, perverted and abnormal. Funny how they are always blaming us for the breakdown of the family or the Iraq War (well Brian Camenker did say he could link it to gays getting married if he had enough time) yet they try and distance themselves from an action that could possibly be linked directly to them. As Bay Windows reported just yesterday:
"This bill is viciously undemocratic. Our founding fathers would have taken up arms because of this," said Lexington parent David Parker, who made headlines last April for refusing to leave school grounds after he demanded that his son be opted out of any discussion in his kindergarten class on LGBT topics, including discussions of families with gay parents.
Well David, have no fear. You don't need the founding fathers because this boy is carrying out your wishes. He has taken up arms against the gay community.

I don't know how plain it has to be. He went into a gay bar, asked if it was a gay bar and started swinging an ax and shooting a gun. What more do you need? Yeah he was an anti-Semite and anti- African American but did he go into synagogue and start shooting? No, he went into a GAY bar. This young man was not born prejudice, where did he learn it? Where did he learn to hate Jews and African Americans? Where did he learn that gay people were sub-human and should be shot to death? Who is responsible for his behavior? Is it any wonder that attacks on gays and lesbians has risen since 2003? What group is verbally bashed more in the newspapers, online and even in the State of the Union address? If you guessed Judaism or people of color you're wrong.

Is the Age of Consent in Georgia below 15?

Interesting story on CNN:
Teen disappears before wife, 37, gives birth
The story takes place in Atlanta, Georgia and the husband is 15 years old, the wife, 37. Gosh, wasn't that one of the states that has a constitutional amendment banning same sex couples from marrying?
This state shall recognize as marriage only the union of man and woman. Marriages between persons of the same sex are prohibited in this state. No union between persons of the same sex shall be recognized by this state as entitled to the benefits of marriage. This state shall not give effect to any public act, record or judicial proceeding of any other state or jurisdiction respecting a relationship between persons of the same sex that is treated as a marriage under the laws of such other state or jurisdiction. The courts of this state shall have no jurisdiction to grant a divorce or separate maintenance with respect to any such relationship or otherwise to consider or rule on any of the parties’ respective rights arising as a result of or in connection with such relationship.
They also prohibited billboards from showing that gay and lesbian people are firemen and nurses. They must just like their marriages between men and women, oops, I meant boys and girls. Do you think Gov. Romney would have allowed that marriage to take place in Massachusetts?

This is the Suspect

This is the suspect in the shooting in New Bedford, MA. His name is Jacob D. Robida and he is 18. From the Herald:

Robida is described as a short, stocky white man with dark hair. He was last seen driving a green 1999 Pontiac Grand Am.

“He’s definitely considered armed and dangerous and has extremely violent tendencies,” said New Bedford police Capt. Richard Spirlet.

According to the police affidavit, officers went to Robida’s home and spoke to his mother, Stephanie Oliver. She said her son came home around 1 a.m., bleeding from the head, then left again.

If you spot him call 911.

Why Do We Need a Hate Crime Law?

A MAN WALKED INTO A BAR, asked if it was a GAY bar and then started swinging an ax and shooting. Do you think Article 8/Massresistance will start defending this guy? It was only yesterday that Ms. Massresistance was pointing out that in France someone was fined for Hate speech and to her THAT was a crime. Ok, Ms. Massresistance, this teenager (who probably didn't have health in high school because Article 8 got that removed from the curriculum) attacked numerous people without being provoked.

Maybe the guy was on Massresistance's website and read the following:

So what do you think someone who is not in their right frame of mind would think if they read their websites? Public Enemy #1? Perverted? Abnormal? Yet they claim to not incite violence.

100 Klan Members Agree: Bob Knight Is Right!

Agape Press is promoting the following headline:
Pro-Homosexual School Posters Fostering 'Intolerance,' Says Family Advocate
I guess I would agree that it is fostering intolerance, OF HATRED. Can you believe these people playing the victim? There are/were many people in this country that believe(d) that letting African American's drink out of the same water fountain as whites was promoting intolerance too.

The story is about how a few teachers are refusing to put the sign at the left up in their classroom. I guess the teachers do not want safe spaces for all their students. Their refusal to post the signs already alerts their students that they are not in a safe space since the teacher already believes that the LGBTQ youth is disordered. (Can you imagine that teacher molding young minds!)

The "family" advocate who is "making this public" is the infamous homophobe Bob Knight of the "Culture and Family Institute". Bob comments:
According to Knight, the heated debate going on at San Leandro High is not about safety at all. "This is about bullying people and saying you will kneel down and bow to the Baal god of homosexuality -- or we'll make your life very miserable," he says.
No Bob, it's about protecting all the students at the school even the ones you want to condem to hell. Yeah, Bob knows a lot about bullying too, I think its in his position description.

From "Guns and Butter" to "Guns and Sex"

Ok, how messed up is this: Article 8/Massresistance (it's getting tougher to tell these two apart especially since Article 8's whole "mission" is going down the toilet. Like "Parent's Rights Coalition", its time for the Brian and Amy Klan to change their name!) thinks its ok for Military Recruiters to recruit at city schools without the parents permission but its not ok to teach students about health. Does this make sense to any same human being?

On Massresistance: The Radio Show, they had some local right winger talk about three articles he wrote about the Newton schools and how he was astounded that military recruits weren't welcomed with open arms at the school. I wouldn't bother to listen to the recording, hearing Brian Camenker drone on for an hour is enough for anyone to shove spikes through their eyes. Article 8/Massresistance is Pro-war and all for the military taking the kids from schools, now teach the kids about health, well that's another story.

Massachusetts is having hearing on a requirement for students to take "Health" before they graduate and Massresistance/Article 8 is outraged. Health was a requirement when I was in high school and I'm from Massachusetts, oh, that's right Article 8 and Massresistance are run by people who transplanted to Massachusetts. I guess they want them to learn "Health" and sex education from listening to their parents go at it:
From the time a child comes into the world, he observes his parents (one male, one female) interact. Sometimes they hug or kiss. And yes, he registers the fact that they sleep in the same bed. And sometimes the bedroom door is locked and he hears noises. This is a child's normal introduction to sex. It is simply put before him in the context of normal, healthy family activities. Pictures of a normal two-parent family in a picture book do convey a message to the child: This is a family.
I didn't make this stuff up either, check out the link above. Will their lunacy ever end?

It's Getting Even Colder in Alaska

This up from 363Gay.com:

Despite a constitutional amendment already banning same-sex marriage in Alaska Republican lawmakers say it isn't enough. Now it wants a second amendment to prevent the state from providing benefits to the same-sex partners of Alaska state employees.
Why don't they just kick 'em too? The politicians in Alaska aren't satisfied that same sex couples can't marry but they want to make sure that they aren't caring for each other either.

One Republican Lawmaker, Senator Ralph Seekins, already has a draft drawn up and the Governor is all for it. "We'll fix those homosexuals who want to share their lives with someone they love. No health care benefits for you!" What's next, dragging them out and flogging them?

Unfortunately for the Alaska politicians, YOU CAN'T AMEND LOVE!

Thanks for the Great Job Sal!

Article 8 finally sent out another update (they must be busy will stuffing hate into all those envelopes because it's been awhile!) and its more of the same. They "out" House Speaker Sal DiMasi who was honored by a group at the Custom House Tower, essentially for doing his job, i.e., protecting the rights of minorities:

Last Sunday, DiMasi received their "Leadership Award" at a banquet at the fancy Marriott Custom House, for his "work toward marriage equality" and "faithful support of GLBT rights." On the invitation were the out-of-touch politicians, Planned Parenthood people, and others.
Mass. Speaker of House guest of honor at homosexual banquet.

This is the guy that runs our Legislature! Call him at 617-722-2500. Or email him at Rep.SalvatoreDiMasi@hou.state.ma.us (tho don't expect a reply). Let him know that he doesn't represent YOU, and that you will do your best to get him booted!

Did you notice how Article 8 always ends with threats and intimidation? Boy, am I glad that DiMasi is my Rep. (Thanks for the Christmas card Sal)

And what's this obsession with the Custom House Tower too? It's owned by Marriott for goodness sake, oh, that's right, it's fancy and that's supposed to be expensive which means that gays and lesbians could affort to have the event there because they have more money which means they do not deserve the same rights as everyone else because they're rich, so stop same sex marriage now, I get it now.

MFI: M****** F******* Institution?

This up in the Boston Globe today:

MassEquality, a group fighting attempts to overturn the landmark court ruling legalizing same-sex marriage in Massachusetts, will allege today that at least 2,000 people were either duped into signing a petition opposing gay marriage or had their signatures forged, a spokesman said.

The group will call on Secretary of State William F. Galvin and Attorney General Thomas F. Reilly to investigate the signatures collected by workers for VoteOnMarriage, a group working to overturn legal same-sex marriage, said Marc Solomon, campaign director for MassEquality.

While this won't invalidate all the signatures for the anti-gay marriage petition it will bring to light the immoral and illegal way MFI collected those signatures. This same group, who is supposed to be "strengthening the family", is actually teaching children how to be deceptive and dishonest to get what you want. Nice morals right!

And to those people who say "What are you afraid of? Why not let the Massachusetts voters have their say?" I say, "Would you want people to be voting on YOUR civil rights?" Once again, this is not about marriage otherwise they would be asking to revoke ALL the marriages that have taken place since May 17, 2004. No, MFI and the Catholic Church are intellectually dishonest since they really are ok'ing the marriages that have taken place. Groups like Massresistance and MassNews (hate them all you like) are at least honest about trying to get rid of all same sex marriages, not just some.

Rehashing the Hate aka Clip Show

One of the commentators brought up a good point that is not talked about enough. Article 8 and Massresistance aren't just against same sex couples marrying, they are against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people period. Just look at some of the stuff they've posted on their websites:
Boston Globe Normalizing the Abnormal Again
Boston Groups Celebrate Depravity

PBS Brainwashing Our Children: Abnormal is Normal

Where the Slippery Slope Starts

"But we differ with Kurtz on where the slippery slope begins. We believe it starts with a legal and social acceptance of homosexuality. Once the legal and social barriers have been removed (i.e., sodomy laws are overturned, gay hookup billboards are allowed on city streets, and family supermarkets carry homosexual newspapers), there's no stopping the radicals from claiming their demands are all about "equal rights". If there's nothing wrong with homosexual behavior per se, they can portray any opposition to anything they want as a discriminatory denial of rights."

If you read some of these ramblings you really do see the hate and yet I'm accused of posting hate and lies by a John "I have no credentials except the Parent's Rights Coalition" Haskins:

Well, the brains over at the offices of SLIBEC (Sodomy Love Is a Beautiful Example for Children), the world-class constitutional and pedagogical think tank running the hate blog "MassresistanceWatch", have weighed in with a truly Jeffersonian masterpiece of constitutional jurisprudence.
I guess this is considered hate since it exposes the truth and leading by example is taking away people's rights and existence.

You'd think they'd spend more time cleaning their homes than dirtying other people's lives.

Pro-Family My Fanny

Well, I was reading the Globe yesterday and I saw this horrendous item about a 26 year old mother who left her two children while she was cooking on the stove. Firefighters came at 11:30 pm, the mother didn't show up until the afternoon the next day. It is the second time that her children were taken away from her.

Next up is a story in today's Globe about a coach (male) who is accused of groping his female basketball team.

I wrote here a few weeks (months) ago about a female teacher in Florida who has a long affair with a teenager who was underage, even going so far as to have sex with him in a truck while his cousin drove. The woman didn't receive any jail time just home confinement (supposedly the judge rejected this sentence however I haven't heard anymore about this incident).

Finally we all can't forget the story of the Letourneau woman who had an affair with one of her students, went to jail (had a baby), got out, had sex with the youth again, finally served her time in prison and then when she got out married the student who is now of legal age.

What do these stories have to do with anything? Well, they are all terrible stories (and there are many more) about adults taking advantage of youth. The reason I mention them is because Article 8/Massresistance doesn't report about any of these. They talk about one incident that was in the news where the abuser pleaded guilty and didn't receive any jail time. But because the abuser and the victim were the same sex it is, to them, more of a crime than the above crimes. They are very selective with the stories they highlight.

Brian Camenker is listed in the Agape Press (yes, they are so credible aren't they!) as a pro-family:
A homosexual teacher in Massachusetts who admitted to raping one of his teenage students and possessing child pornography has escaped jail time. A Waltham-based
pro-family leader says the case is yet another indication that most judges in his state are in league with homosexual activists.
Now Brian Camenker, and Article 8 for that matter, is supposed to be "pro family" what exactly are they doing for the family? Where are they spending money to actually help families? What causes do they support that actually supports families, and I'm not talking about gay families either. Every thing Article 8 does is about homosexuality, they don't care about families. They have not done anything which would even support a family with a mother and a father. They supposedly raise funds to keep their work going but what work is that? It's work to bring down the judges. Their money isn't going to actually people. Which family do you think is benefiting from the money that gets donated? Article 8 is definitely ANTI-family.

He's Entitled To His Opinion Too!

Well, Ms. Massresistance posted for a THIRD day another rant by "John Haskins" crying the illegality of same sex marriages in Massachusetts. And for the THIRD day, Ms. Massresistance has offered NOTHING of "John Haskins" qualifications for making such an argument.

A google search of "John Haskins" turns up that "he" posted various other rants for the American Spectator and is "an associate director of the Parents' Rights Coalition" I've also found him being the "acting director of the Parents' Rights Coalition" and "associate director of Article 8". Is it getting any clearer yet? This hack, if it's not Amy or Brian, is another Article 8/Parents Rights Coalition "associate" who's only expertise seems to HOMOSEXUALITY (yet not being gay). So I thought I'd ask an associate of mine to comment because God knows my postings doesn't give Massresistance any credibility (Who could?).

This will (hopefully) be a continuing feature at Massresistance Watch. You know, our policy at MassResistance Watch is to address the issues (and lies spread such hate groups at Article 8, Massresistance, Parents Rights Coalition, hell, just about anything that Brian Camenker seems to get involved in) and the more legit but nevertheless hateful right wing groups out there like Mass Family Institute.

My associate Gus will occasionally offer his timely thoughts on the issues or lies at hand.

In full disclosure, yes, Gus is my cat of 14 years. Yes, he may be biased since my husband feeds him everyday, but he's also entitled to his opinion and hey, he's lived with a gay guy for all his life. I bet Brian nor Amy nor this "John Haskins" can say the same. Gus is also straight and a cancer survivor. He doesn't mince words. (There you already know more about Gus than you do this "John Haskins". Today Gus responds with:
Meow
Wow, short and sweet. He didn't need three posts to get his point across. I guess I'll need to get working on getting that translated. But still, what insight!

AFA Tries Again

The AFA is trying again to force Ford Motor company to stop contributing to GLBT causes. Embarrassed in December when Ford supposedly reversed a decision it had made with AFA, AFA is now trying another tactic. They have a letter signed by 43 anti-gay organizations asking Ford to "honor their commitment to stop supporting homosexual groups" .

On a side note, have you ever wondered why these vicious anti-gay groups LOVE the word homosexual? They love saying "homosexual" activists or "homosexual" lifestyle. Yet they never refer to themselves as heterosexuals or ex-gays as ex-homosexuals. I think it stems from the word "sexual". They want to give the impression that only gay and lesbian people have sex for fun. I guess we are the only people trying to enjoy life.

The AFA's press release states:
The organizations also requested that Ford stop supporting any group involved in the current cultural war.
So I guess that means them too since they started the "culture war" or attacks on gays and lesbians (lets call it what it really is).

Who else signed the "letter"? Why it's a "Who's Who" of anti-gay bigots: Tony Perkins, President of the Family Research Council, Dr. James Dobson, Founder and Chairman of the Focus On The Family, Gary Bauer, President of American Values, Mathew D. Staver, President and General Counsel of the Liberty Counsel, Kristian M. Mineau, President of the Massachusetts Family Institute and other less known names. And why is Tony Perkins (not to be confused with the gay actor of the same name) the only HOT anti-gay spokesperson? Are all the attractive people in favor of equal rights (except of course for Tony). I mean did you ever get a look at the head of the AFA?

But I digress.

The AFA only wants Ford to respond in writing so we'll see how this turns out.

Just Another Disgruntled Opinion

Things over at Massresistance and Article 8 have gotten really crazy. I haven't posted anything about them because they are just SO weird that it boggles the mind. (This weekend on their radio show they complained because the high school in Newton was letting the parents know that military recruiters were coming and they could opt-out, which IS a requirement of the No Child Left Behind Act BTW. Do you think Brian and Amy are signing THEIR children up to serve?)

Anyhow, the past couple of days Massresistance has been posting someone else's rants about the legality of same sex marriages in Massachusetts. Of course as usual, Ms. Massresistance doesn't list what this man's qualifications are for determining the legality of marriage so one doesn't know whether he went to law school or whether just being a director of the Parent's Rights Coalition entitles him to make legal opinions, it certainly must make him an expert on homosexuals! One can assume from his rants that he knows more about the law than Gov. Romney AND Attorney General Reilly combined, or at least he thinks he does.

He Just Wanted to Lend a Hand...

In the "Do as I say, not as I do" department, Rev. Lonnie Latham, a pastor who has spoken out against homosexuality was arrested after propositioning a male undercover police officer outside a hotel (hat tip to Ian):

As the Rev. Lonnie Latham, 59, left jail Wednesday, he said "I was set up. I was in the area pastoring to police."

Latham, a member of the Southern Baptist Convention's executive committee, was arrested Tuesday and charged with offering to engage in an act of lewdness, Capt. Jeffrey Becker said.

Calls to Latham and his South Tulsa Baptist Church were not returned for comment.

Latham has supported a convention directive urging members to befriend gays and lesbians and try to convince them that they can become heterosexual "if they accept Jesus Christ as their savior and reject their 'sinful, destructive lifestyle.'"

The Southern Baptist Convention is the nation's largest Protestant denomination. Messages left for the convention were not returned.

Again, it's always the ones who attack gay and lesbian people who are hiding their sexuality. They hate the fact that gays and lesbians are living wonderful fruitful open lives while they are closeted and hating their very being so they lash out at people they can never be.

Apparently, the guy asked the plainclothes officer to join him in his hotel room for sex. Latham was then arrested and his 2005 Mercedes automobile was impounded. I'm sure Latham was just trying to give the guy a hand.

No Patience for Stupid People

There's a wonderful post over at Marry in Massachusetts that answers the stupid question "Where is the law in Massachusetts that allows for same sex marriage! There is no law. Show me the law!" Mass Marrier is much more kinder to these people than I would be, I think the people that are spouting this ridiculous rhetoric are just plain stupid, I mean anti-gay Gov. Romney gets it, so does the anti-everything except Christian lawyers group, The Liberty Counsel, otherwise, why would they the sue the state to stop same sex marriages from happening on May 17, 2004? DUH!

Here's a piece from his post:

The General Laws of Massachusetts carefully regulate marriage. Unfortunately for the anti folk, it did not originally consider SSM. On the other hand, Chapter 207 starts with 14 very specific Sections forbidding this or that type of marriage - bigamy, incest, underage and on and on.

It goes into the heart of marriage regulation here. The question remains, who is legally entitled to a license to marry? The bulk of the who-can laws related to the license and solemnization. Again, the General Laws are very specific about that. This reinforces the clear distinction carried over from English common law to the Bay Colony to our Commonwealth's constitution, that marriage here is a civil contract.

The argument that these stupid people make about "no laws allowing for same sex marriage" is just that, stupid. Forrest was right: Stupid is as stupid does.

Florida: The Sunshine State

There's a wonderful documentary out there called "We Are Dad". It's about a same sex couple who take in children that are HIV positive because the "straight" couples don't want them. It is both an uplifting story (the way these two men care for these children) and a heartbreaking one (Florida still refuses to let same sex couples adopt). The Dads are foster parents without the possibility to adopt any of the children they care for. I was reminded about this movie from an article about another family in Florida on the Boston Globe website:

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. --A 3-year-old boy died after his mother held him in a tub of scalding water as punishment on Christmas Day and his grandmother, who had custody, failed to get him medical care for a week, authorities said Monday. The mother had lost custody of the boy for previous abuse.

Broward County sheriff's deputies found Jaquez Mason with burns over 50 percent of his body after getting a 911 call Sunday morning. He was pronounced dead a half hour later. It was unclear why he was punished, spokesman Jim Leljedal said.

At least there are some good couples in Florida really caring the children. God works in mysterious ways.

Giddy Up!

Hi all! I'm back from living my wild homosexual lifestyle which consisted of wrapping Christmas presents, singing in the choir on Christmas Eve and dining with my family and my new family (the in-laws) on Christmas Day. Yep, it was such a homosexual experience, I mean I'm sure no heterosexual ever had to decide which side of the family to dine with first (We homosexuals are such nuts!!!)

At the gym today I happened to be switching channels and caught a little bit of Fox News' coverage of Brokeback Mountain. Apparently this film is GAY PROPAGANDA, at least that's what the panelist said on Fox News. Gay Propaganda, yeah, that's what I would call it. It's a movie of such high homosexual values with such big Gay themes. The panelist was David Kupelian who wrote the book "The Marketing of Evil" and writes for the World Nut..er I mean Net Daily.

It seems that the Religious Right was just going to let Brokeback Mountain slide by without comment, that is until it started getting critical acclaim. Now they can't just sit idly by and NOT mention it. They even equate it to marketing cigarettes! Even Ms. Massresistance had to jump into the pool to condemn the movie and again scream "Gay Propaganda". (and for some reason they again bring up Adult-child sex which is no where in the movie but these guys are obsessed!)

These people are scared, very scared because if the heartland sees that its' own are actually gay they might not be so quick to endorse discrimination against these folks. The New York Times had a great article on actual gay cowboys. My favorite line from the piece is:
Like Ennis Del Mar and Jack Twist in the film, Clark dated women for a time, bowing to the pressure to be "normal" although, unlike them, he never married and never led a double life. There's a joke out here about how one goes about finding a gay man on the frontier. The punch line is deadpan: "Look for the wife and kids."
These people just don't want to hear that gay people exist but they do and more and more are coming out each day. Good for them. If these guys (in the movie) would have be able to live their life no one would have gotten hurt, they wouldn't have had wives or children who felt alienated which is the WND writer's biggest point, that we should have seen the movie through the wives' eyes. He obviously didn't get that when you live a lie everyone suffers.

Bible Teachings

In the Book of Matthew it says "don't let your left hand know what your right hand does" and apparently the Catholic Church in Boston is taking that literally, AGAIN, but in the wrong way.

Bay Windows, that (say it with me) homosexual newspaper, reported yesterday about a priest at Holy Trinity Church in Boston who was funneling over $175,000 of the church's money to another parish in secret, without the parish or the archdiocese knowing. The Globe decided to publish a story about it today. The archdiocese claims it was an "error" on Rev. Hugh O'Regan part nevermind that he did this in secret without anyone's knowledge.

The biggest difference in the two stories is that Bay Windows points out the dishonesty of the Boston Catholic Church. They remind us of the firing of Rev. Walter Cuenin, who, contrary to popular belief, never marched in a Gay Pride parade but did welcome gay and lesbian parishioners at his church. Notes Bay Windows:

Compare that with what Donilon had to say about the Rev. Walter Cuenin after it was revealed that the finance council at Cuenin's church, Our Lady Help of Christians in Newton, had paid him a stipend and leased a car for him without Archdiocese approval. "Seventy-five thousand dollars is a lot of money, and we cannot ignore the financial piece of this," he told the Boston Globe. "We cannot allow one pastor to operate under a separate set of guidelines or rules."

Hmmm. Cuenin operated within the guidelines set by his church's finance council. O'Regan seems to have violated Catholic Canon Law by not meeting with the Holy Trinity Finance Council and transferring funds between churches. Cuenin's transgressions, such as they are, totaled $75,000 over a period of 12 years, which Cuenin agreed to pay back. As a result of O'Regan's "error," St. James the Greater had to obtain an emergency loan of $176,360 on Dec. 16 to cover what it owed Holy Trinity.

Once again we see how the church operates. One man received a stipend from the parish, with the parish's approval and a car, all in the open mind you, the archdiocese had even audited the books at Father Cuenin's parish for years and never said anything before. Yet the other priest who was doing things in secret wasn't even reprimanded by the Bishop.

Was it a coincidence that Father Cuenin was one of the 50 priests who signed the letter asking for Cardinal Law's resignation after the whole sexual abuse scandal was uncovered? I wonder what's happened to the other 49 priests who spoke out to protect the children since it appears that the church still only protects those that keeps its secrets. But then again, there are gay families to demonize and destroy, we have priorities people!

Correction: It was the South End News that actually broke the story, Bay Windows wrote an editorial on the subject, please read the comment section for more info. (thanks Susan!)

You're In!

Many people have written to me how artistically challenged the Article 8/Massresistance group is, however, the newest beats it all. It you've ever been on their site at Article 8 or Parents Right's Coalition you know how cluttered (and out of date) it is. But you've got to take a look at their newest addition. It's a graphic of what I think is supposed to be a thermometer. You've seem them before by other organization to record the donations that "pour" in. As the money rises so does the level in the thermometer.

Most normal people use red to indicate the level of funds coming in but not Article 8. Always one to be on far right of anything they use yellow. To paraphrase Massresistance: What does that make you think about, a yellow substance rising in tube?

On a side note, it seems that Brian Camenker is soliciting funds for Article 8 and Massresistance by allowing people to make a tax free donation through an organization called "Parents Education Foundation, Inc" where he's the President, Treasurer, Clerk and one of the directors (Wow, he can do it all just like Barbra Streisand!). The funny thing is that tax exempt nonprofit corporations are not allowed to lobby the legislatures, state or federal on any matter OR funnel donations to organizations who do lobby.

Know Thy Neighbor

The KnowThyNeighbor website is now listing all the people who signed the anti-gay marriage amendment petition. You can search by name, address, city or zip code. Not surprising is that Article 8's own Brian Camenker is on the list. I guess even he doesn't believe that the Massachusetts Supreme Court judges will ever be removed so he's jumping on this bandwagon. It's quite interesting to check out the list and see who's on it, or not on it.

Cheers Elton & David!

Elton John and David Furnish were one of many of the hundreds of same sex couples that received legalized civil unions in Great Britain yesterday. They tied the knot in the same hall that Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles wed in April. They sealed their union with a kiss, how romantic! Even though it's not a "marriage" like same sex couples can get in Massachusetts, these couples will be able to receive all the federal benefits of married unlike Massachusetts couples.
Prime Minister Tony Blair speaking to reporters at a news conference, congratulated the couple for exercising their newfound legal right.
Can you imagine, the head of a civilized country congratulates a same sex couple for making a lifetime commitment together, surely the world is going to end!

The few who attended included John's mother, Sheila, and stepfather Fred, and Furnish's parents, Gladys and Jack.

The ceremony, which took less than an hour, was conducted by registrar Clair Williams, who also presided over the union between Charles and Camilla.

One of the guests, art dealer Jay Jopling, described the union as being "like any other couple getting married."

The couple emerged to a shower of rice and the click of cameras, walking arm in arm to face the paparazzi. John lifted his hand to show off a whopping diamond ring.

Love is such a bad bad thing isn't it?

Lock Up Your Spouses!

A favorite activist of Massresistance and Article 8 is Stephen Bennett of the Stephen Bennett Ministries (catchy huh!). He and his wife (he is supposedly a "former" ex-gay now married to Irene) co-host a Christian talk radio show "Straight Talk Radio", you really gotta listen to some of their programs. Anyway, Stephen commented on the critically acclaimed new movie "Brokeback Mountain":
"This movie sends a very dangerous message to America's youth - and especially married couples with a struggling spouse. I just spoke with a married man on the telephone who is contemplating leaving his wife and children. He's says he's gay - and Brokeback Mountain has influenced his decision. I spent a lot of time with this man telling him it's not what they're making it out to be. I know - I was there for 11 years." Stephen continued, "Believe me, we can sadly expect to see a lot more men like former Governor Jim McGreevy of New Jersey not only resigning from their jobs, but from their wives, children and families."
This is so strange, something must be going around because I was talking to this woman, who saw this movie about a huge gorilla. She is now contemplating leaving her family for the nearest zoo. She never thought that she would leave her husband and kids but after seeing that one movie, well those 2-something hours completely changed her life. She never thought she could fall in love with a big ape, but then again her husband is kinda hairy. Anyway, I agree with Stephen, these movies send a VERY dangerous message. Hat tip to ExGay Watch for following this gripping story.

Ford: Flip-On-Reality-Daily?

Well, first we had the American Family Association boycotting Ford in May 2005, right after their victory (9 years and nothing changed) against Disney:
"Inform them you will not be buying a Ford product until they stop their promotion of the homosexual movement and homosexual marriage," Wildmon says in the message to AFA supporters. If the dealer wants more information, he suggests individuals refer the dealer to the website for the boycott.
Then the American Family Association claimed victory again with their boycott of Ford. They said that Ford agreed to a "secret" agreement with them and Ford would no longer advertise in the gay press, however, Ford said it was just part of its advertising policy and since they were losing money it was something they would have done anyway and there was no secret agreement.

Then the Gay community rallied against Ford for giving into the extreme homophobia from the Right and Ford reversed its decision and will now once again market to the gay community so the American Family Association is once again going to boycott Ford again.

Confused? In a nut shell (pun intended), the Religious Right tried to muscle their way to get a company to discriminate against a minority group. Once again Truth, Justice and the American Way prevailed.
“All we wanted was for Ford to refrain from choosing sides in the cultural war, and supporting groups which promote same-sex marriage is not remaining neutral,” Wildmon stated.
Right.......they only wanted them to not choose sides, i.e., Do not donate to gay causes, do not advertise in the gay press, imagine they don't exist. That sounds neutral. They wanted Ford to be neutral that's why the AFA published the press releases and touted their strength against the gay community.

Happy HOLIGAYS!

With Jerry Falwell’s recent assault on "Happy Holidays" it got me thinking. These are the same things these white Religious Right people think about the country; everyone is white, Christian, married to a wife (who stays at home of course, a la “Father Knows Best”) and has two children: a boy & a girl. They refuse to see anything else.

It seems like it's a big surprise that:
  • Everyone is NOT Christian,
  • Everyone is NOT to married to a woman (or in Newt Gingrich’s case 3 women)
  • Everyone is NOT white
  • In today’s economy both spouses have to work (man/woman, man/man, and woman/woman) or
  • you're scraping by raising a family on one income and have no spouse.
  • Lots of couples, both gay and straight are choosing whether to have children or not.

For myself, I celebrate Christmas, I have NO problem with people wishing me a “Happy Holidays”, they don’t know me from Adam so why should they assume I celebrate Christmas (Isn't this profiling?) Just like why should they assume I’m straight, YOU CAN’T! Can you imagine what Jerry Falwell would say if you assumed he was, A GAY?. I do wear a wedding band and I'm legally married, but I have a husband (and I will still be married even if they pass this discriminatory amendment in Massachusetts).

This is NOT a cookie cutter world, if we were all alike how boring would that be? Actually, it’s bone-chilling to think about it, horrifying even!

A Picture of Love

I haven't posted about Massresistance/Article 8 in awhile because their posts have just gotten so weird and strange that commenting on them would give them some tiny piece of credibility (Christian Polygamy? Window Models?). However, I felt I had to comment on today's post. You see, once again, Ms. Massresistance is trying to "shame" a family featured in the GLOBE.

She only succeeds in showing everyone how wonderful this couple are. She posts about the joy that one family is feeling for their first Christmas with their new child. This is what she calls abnormal, a man talking about how they (the couple) are staying home (and not visiting relatives) because they are taking their daughter's comfort into consideration, abnormal?

As always, it wouldn't be a Massresistance post without her focusing on sex:
From the Globe Sunday Magazine (Dec. 11), in their series called "COUPLING" ...(Now what vision does that conjure up, speaking of homosexual men?) ... "Home Alone: Three's company when a new family settles in for a quiet holiday":
Well maybe I'm the odd one but an article about Coupling in the Globe Magazine brings to mind a loving couple (yes, it IS about love). I guess for some people, all they focus on is sex, (you should really see a therapist for that) I see two wonderful men who adopted an unwanted child, I guess you could call them pro-life.

Of Mice and Men

Voice of the Faithful held a moving prayerful candlelight vigil at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross tonight. We had about 35 people standing in the bitter cold to support "Priests of Integrity" in the Catholic church. Voice of the Faithful decided to hold this to demonstrate our conviction that a vocation to the priesthood is not and should not be restricted by one’s sexuality.

They and I believe that excluding homosexuals from the priesthood is not a solution to the clergy sexual abuse crisis. This was highlighted at the vigil by a woman who spoke about her abuse at the hands of Catholic priest, a heterosexual Catholic priest. She talked about how the Church abused her again by not acknowledging the abuse she endured.

It just shows once again how the Church has failed women. It is bad enough that the church fails to allow women to participate in the rituals of the church, but now the Church has continued to shun those women who were sexually abused by pedophile priests. This whole "gay priest" ban does nothing to address the child sexual abuse committed by the priests nor the enabling the Bishops did to protect these sick priests. It's disgusting!

I wrote a little bit about how the Church is scapegoating gay men and still not addressing its problems in its ranks in September. The good news is that there are still good priests out there, unfortunately, the hierarchy of the Church punishes those that speak out against the abuse.

Anti-Gay Activists and Internet Polls

Yesterday the Mass "Family" Institute, an anti-gay activist organization submitted their signatures to the State to put discrimination into the constitution. Apparently they submitted 170,000 to the clerks who certified 147,000 some odd signatures, they only have to have 66,000 (a feat that's pretty easy to accomplish since there are over 6,416,505 people in Mass)

The Boston Globe reported in its "breaking news" section of its online edition about the signatures. The Globe online also included a link to an "unscientific internet poll" on same sex marriage. You would expect that the MFI would be bathing in the glory of their 147,000 signatures, but no. The MFI sent out an email update to its subscribers to log on and vote YES in the poll. How pathetic. Do you think their afraid? I guess they don't feel secure enough with the way they got the signatures so they have to manipulate the online poll too. A last look the poll shows the NO vote was still leading.

Trustworthy? Loyal?

The following letter was written by the National Program Director of the Boy Scouts America:

Corporate Legal Times

September, 2004

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR; Pg. 10

Boy Scout Pride

Dear Editor:

Bruce Collins is mistaken when he calls Boy Scouts a "fundamentally different" organization from the one he joined 40 years ago. ["An Eagle Scout Takes Issue With Group's Politics" July, p. 7]. Boy Scouts is the same organization with the same values and goals. What is fundamentally different, however, is our times.

Some intolerant elements in our society want to force scouting to abandon its values and to become fundamentally different. They want scouting to forego its constitutional rights, affirmed in 2000 by the Supreme Court in BSA v. Dale, and adopt fundamentally different values from the ones that helped shape the character of Mr. Collins and 106 million other young men over the past 94 years.

It bothers Mr. Collins that scouting is defending itself, even though he acknowledged that it has been "dragged into" the "culture war." He says the tone of our legal-issues web site, bsalegal.org, is defensive. The site does seek to defend our values and to inform the public about the three-decade-long legal assault on scouting. That we need a legal-issues web site is testament to the fact that our constitutional rights are under attack.

Clearly, Mr. Collins longs for a time when the Boy Scout organization could give its undivided attention to the "good stuff" of Scouting: "camping and life skills ..." So do we. Mr. Collins would do well to communicate his displeasure to those directing their discriminatory assault against his beloved Boy Scouts -- the ACLU.

Douglas S. Smith Jr.

National Director of Program

Boy Scouts of America

He was responding to charges that the Boy Scouts discriminates against gay men in Scouting. The irony of the situation is that this man, Douglas S. Smith, Jr. National Director of Program for Boy Scout America pleaded guilty to child pornography. He was sentenced yesterday to 8 years in jail. The same man who only last year was defending the "values" of Scouting is into child pornography.

Another vocal anti-gay critic found guilty. (Hat tip to Ian)

Funny Ha Ha

This just up from the World O' Crap Blog. It seems they've been doing a little research on our friends over at Article 8 and Massresistance. They confirm a couple of things I've suspected all along:

The post goes into detail everything that Article 8 has been spreading to the right wing media. They also do their own analysis on the details that Article 8 changes in each press release. They are quite funny too!

Don We Now Our Gay Apparel

This season's movies are turning out to be just GAY! There are numerous GLBT themed movies coming to a theatre near you. NPR reported on this in November and every week until Christmas keeping turning out gay Gay GAY films. Here's a few which are supposed to be fabulous:

It's going to be a gay ole' time at the movies this Christmas!

*Yawn*

Massresistance: The Radio Show was another sleeper. For all their touting that "They report the news you don't hear anywhere else" we've heard it all before. They didn't talk about anything new, they even brought up the "Little Black Book" again which happened in April (Is it Christmas already?)

Brian Camenker also seems to be turning to the Religious Right (could it be that he's not making enough money from his usual suspects?). Throughout the program, Camenker used "God Bless" which he has refrained from using in the other 5 outings of the program. My guess is that he was catering to the Catholics who might happen to be listening since his guests were C. J. Doyle of the Catholic Action League and the head of Operation Rescue. However, my husband still believes we are the only ones "doing God's work" by actually listening to the whole program.

I did learn one thing from the program today. Homosexual activists are quite powerful. To hear them talk, we are in charge of everything and everyone. Now if we were that powerful don't you think we would have outlawed polyester pantsuits a long time ago?

I'm done, I have to get to working on my homosexual agenda right after my Christmas cards are written out.

Around the World with 80 Gays (give or take a few million)

South Africa's High Court Approves Gay Marriage:

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa - South Africa's highest court ruled Thursday it is unconstitutional to bar gay marriage, paving the way for this country to become the first in Africa to legalize homosexual unions.
Another country recognizes equality! With all the recognition of same sex partnerships around the world it is becoming a no-brainer, All people are created equal.

You can't hide the fact that same sex couples are in committed monogamous relationships just like their heterosexual counterparts. Only now these committed relationships are becoming recognized by the government. No amount of putting gay weddings in quote's is going deny that these relationships exist and are happening. They will continue to happen forever too. Even if Massachusetts passes this hateful anti-gay amendment (and there are serious doubts it will) it is not going to stop gay couples from tying the knot. It is happening in Canada, Spain, Netherlands and coming soon to Great Britain and now, South Africa.

Oh, on a side note or should I say left coast America note, America Blog is reporting:
Arnold hires as his chief of staff a top Gray Davis aide who's an openly-lesbian gay-married woman.

and
Arnold's wife, first lady Maria Shriver, just picked a new chief of staff too. He's former top Gray Davis aide Daniel Zingale, who is also openly-gay and very-coupled with kid(s?).
