MassResistance "Successes" # 9 - 12

Feel free to email me with any of your own descriptions of MassResistance's successes which can be found here.

Number 9:

Fought homosexual "marriage" ruling in Legislature: Wrote and filed bills to strengthen marriage definition in Mass. statute, and declare same-sex "marriages" null/void & without statutory basis. (2004-6)

Those bill's they "wrote and filed", yeah, didn't get passed and that ruling in the Legislature, didn't need it since same sex couples have happily been getting married since May 2004. They put marriage in quotes and keep stating that gay couples aren't legally married, but there is no basis for this poor arguments, NO ONE agrees with them.

Number 10:

Wrote, prepared and got conservative legislators to file Bill of Address in Legislature to remove judges who handed down same-sex "marriage" ruling -- the unique Constitutional remedy for judges who abuse their power. (2004-6)

This one is especially hilarious! This was the whole basis for their "Article 8 Alliance", removing the four judges from the Massachusetts SJC. MassNews even got into the act and had planes flying over Massachusetts a la Wicked Witch of the West. I believe there was only one legislator who even signed on to this ridiculous "Bill of Address" (and that guy retired before he got voted out). Even former Governor Mitt "Did you hear the one about Massachusetts" Romney didn't even go for this one.

Number 11:

Successfully pressured Gov. Romney to not issue further Proclamations celebrating "Youth Pride Day" in his 3rd and 4th year in office. (2005, 2006)

Because I'm sure that Mitt's Presidential candidacy had NOTHING at all to do with him not issuing Youth Pride Day proclamations (those were the years he was doing he conservative flip) and it was all because of MassResistance, sure, no problem, nothing to see here, move along.

Number 12:

Exposed horrific hardcore homosexual "Little Black Book" and transgender workshops -- pornographic information given to children at a GLSEN conference held at Brookline High School. Incident continues to get national attention. (2005)

Here's one of the "successes" that they list that is partly true. Fenway Community Health had ten copies of the Little Black Book at their booth by accident, apparently a MassResistance person found the copies and turned it into "hundreds of copies were handed out". They even appologized for the mistake. Yet it took Article 8 over two weeks to alert the media! Why so long? This is what I wrote in 2005:

Article 8 claims to have "exposed" this escapade. Ten books were on a table at the Fenway Community Health Center's table at a school's Gay Day on April 30th.
It took Article 8 over two weeks (they didn't announce it until a press conference on May 17th) to actually mention the book. If they cared so much about the children why didn't they have a press conference on May 1st? Article 8 members supposedly picked up the brochure on the 30th so what took so long?(sounds like the Bush administration's reaction to Hurricane Katrina) Furthermore, the book was modeled after a similar book in Washington State, a place that doesn't have same sex marriage, how can that be? Using Article 8's logic Massachusetts should have come up with it first, what gives?

I'm sure more people have seen this STD prevention manual from Article 8's website than when it was in print. Thanks Brian for doing STD outreach!

MassResistance "Successes" #5 - 8

More pathetic excuses for successes.

Number 5:
Publicized the notorious David Parker incident across the country (Lexington father jailed for demanding his rights to opt his child out of homosexual subject matter in kindergarten); exposed and documented this story in detail. From our efforts, this has gotten extensive national press. (2005-ongoing)

This has been written about extensively. Just a quick correction to MassResistance's false statement about the arrest: David Parker was jailed because he refused to leave an elementary school when the principle and the police told him he would be arrested if he didn't. Coincidentally, MassResistance was right there ready with their cameras to document the event. Oh, and MassResistance also publicized a phony story that David Parker's son was beat up because of his father's views.

Number 6:
Exposed Chief Justice Margaret Marshall's violation of the Code of Judicial Conduct in ruling on same-sex "marriage". (April 2005-on)

Exposed what? Massachusetts Supreme Court Justice Margaret Marshall was never cited for any violations of the judicial code. Don't you think if the Supreme Court Justice of Massachusetts' Supreme Judicial Court violated anything it would be news. Brian's friend, J. Edward Pawlick (MassNews) was obsessed with Margaret Marshall and her husband and wrote about them incessantly, even to the point of pondering what they talked about at breakfast. MassResistance, then called the Article 8 Alliance, even had a man don drag as Margaret Marshall and burn a mock Massachusetts Constitution.

Number 7:

Successfully led fight to stop dangerous bills filed in the Mass. Legislature for: mandatory sexuality and homosexuality education in schools; decriminalization of bestiality and sodomy; and legalization of homosexual "marriage" through statute. Mobilized hundreds to testify, thousands to contact legislators. (2006)

Again, what they don't tell you is that they didn't stop the constitutional convention from voting down the discriminatory marriage amendment which would have banned Equal marriage in Massachusetts or the earlier one that would have banned civil unions too. MassResistance somehow takes credit for every bill that doesn't get passed except when it's their own bill then they somehow, like that old saying, try and make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

Number 8:

Successfully helped pro-family state legislators hold seats when opposed in primaries by homosexual activist challengers funded by national GLBT groups. Organized volunteers and phone banking, and did district-wide mailings. (2004)

This was when, 2004! That was the year that same sex couples could start legally getting married in Massachusetts. When other states were amending their constitutions to ban same sex marriages, Massachusetts residents voted in MORE pro-marriage equality legislators than ever before. That's proabably why they mention "primaries" since most of their "pro-family" legislators were voted out. In 2004 they had a HUGE loss when Vinnie Ciampa lost because of a write in canidate. They said then: "Remember, if Vinnie Ciampa loses, we all lose"

Just a quick note to say that you should head over to MassNews which is still up dispite J. Edward Pawlick's passing. You can still the insane rants he wrote about Massachusetts and also read about MassResistance's beginnings when they were the Article 8 Alliance and the Parent's Right Coalition. It's a must read!

Brian Camenker is Trying to Silence the Truth About MassResistance

Brian Camenker is once again trying to silence the facts (with references) about his anti-gay activism and anti-gay group . I blogged last week about how MassResistance & Brian Camenker is trying revise their history on Wikipedia, well, now that some people have amended the entries, Brian is a little upset that people are actually including some of the truth about him and his hate group MassResistance in Wikipedia:

Joshua,
I am the founder and president of MassResistance. I put up a description of our group that states our mission, and some facts about us, that is brief and to the point.

I don't think it's fair that our posting continues to be vandalized by a person hostile to our organization, with very negative and possibly libelous descriptions.

The "hate group" label is particularly unfair. Southern Poverty Law Center is an extremely biased, somewhat fringe group that lists literally hundreds of conservative groups as "hate groups."

Last week I personally spoke to their hate group coordinator about this, and he admitted to me that our "crime" is "demeaning a class of people", in his opinion. That is absurd!

The posting we put up is fair and reasonable, and accurately describes our group. It's unfair to allow it to be constantly vandalized in this way. Maybe it's better to remove the listing entirely.

Brian Camenker Bcamenker
(
talk) 01:04, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Let's give a big AWWW! Brian doesn't like leading a hate group! He wants more positive things said about him and MassResistance. So instead of exposing the truth about MassResistance, Brian would rather have it deleted entirely, isn't that the best way to get rid of the evidence. I'm sure Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church is upset that they're named a hate group too, all they do is "demean a class of people" and hold protests, oh, that's right, that's what MassResistance does too!

And can you believe that he wrote "Southern Poverty Law Center is an extremely biased, somewhat fringe group" If SPLC is a fringe group what does that make MR?

Let's hope that the Wikipedia people who maintain the site, keep both listings for MassResistance and Brian Camenker and keep them fair to all sides, no need to hide the truth.

MassResistance "Successes" #3 & #4

As Dr. Smith would say "Oh, the pain", anyway, here's number 3:

Successfully lobbied the US Senate Foreign Relations chairman, Sen. Jesse Helms, to put a "hold" on the President's appointment of Mass. Governor Paul Cellucci to Ambassador to Canada, until Cellucci agreed to curtail any efforts to expand homosexual rights there. Cellucci had greatly expanded homosexual programs in the public schools while Governor of Massachusetts. (2000)

Another toast Brian! although I do believe that Canada enacted marriage equality while Cellucci WAS Ambassador. Oh, and if you believe that Jess Helms held up the nomination because of Brian & friends, think again. Jesse didn’t need any help in holding up a nomination. He did it all the time, from Wikipedia:

As he gained seniority and clout, Helms became known as "Senator No" because he would obstruct a variety of Democratic bills and presidential appointments. Helms reportedly delighted in the nickname.

As for "Success" Number #4:

Filed bills in last two legislative sessions to strengthen the Parental Notification Law, and will re-file in next session with even stronger provisions.

OK, ANYONE can file a bill. As a courtesy, a Mass State Rep. or State Senator may attach their name to the bill but typically they file all bills submitted by their constituents. However, notice that they don’t put any dates on this particular "success" because they file these idiotic bills EVERY YEAR and it goes no where. (Hmm...why would they need to "strengthen a bill that they themselves claim they wrote?) They were recently complaining that the public hearings for their bills ran so late that they were going to tell their lemmings, er, I mean, followers not to go to the Statehouse anymore, fat chance of that happening!

Now, I’m sure that since MassResistance has been named a Hate Group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Massachusetts legislature is going to listen very closely to the things that MassResistance has to say and I'm also sure that someone, somewhere will want their names attached to it, NOT.

MassResistance "Successes" #2

More "Successes":

Exposed notorious "Fistgate" seminar by Mass. Dept. of Education and GLSEN homosexual activists, which taught dangerous homosexual sex practices to children. Made national news; two state employees were fired. Homosexual groups subsequently sued Parents Rights' Coalition twice (both times unsuccessfully) to stop their efforts to distribute tape recordings of the sessions. (2000)

Of course, what they don’t tell you is that in the session, the students attending were the ones who asked the questions and the adults answered them truthfully, it was an open dialogue.

Can you imagine a censored Q & A with kids when one child asks “How are babies born?” and the adult present answers “The stork brings them!” That answer might do well in Kansas or for some people homeschooling but these teens are from Massachusetts, an intelligent state.

Furthermore, they don’t tell you that one of the teachers who were fired got her job back (and boy does this anger Brian and his group) Additionally, they claim that the lawsuits were unsuccessful which is not exactly true. If you glance over at the GLAD website, it's there in print that one of the lawsuits were settled, so I wouldn't call that "unsuccessful" when Brian wanted the judge to dismiss the lawsuit. As for the other lawsuit, well you can read a little about it here but it's hard to tell whether it was dismissed or not. Just reading that short blurb, which Article 8 (AKA MassResistance) sent out, it doesn't sound like the teacher lost her case when it sounds like they were looking into whether the two men had assets for her to claim. However, I couldn't really find any information one way or another.

Oh man, I've only gone through the first two "successes" and we can already see where this is going! More to come!

Someone's a Bit Irritated...

Check out this new post over at MassResistance:

Southern Poverty Law Center Identified as "HATE GROUP"

MassResistance blog has identified the communist Southern Poverty Law Center SPLC) as a "HATE GROUP" (along with Bay Windows, QueerToday, MassEquality, BAGLY, the Mass. Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth, GLSEN, PFLAG, Human Rights Campaign, etc. -- the list is endless...), following SPLC's libel of MassResistance and other pro-family groups, including the Traditional Values Coalition.

Recently, the SPLC listed MassResistance as a "hate group" -- though we fail to meet their own definition of an organization "that [goes] beyond mere disagreement with homosexuality by subjecting gays and lesbians to campaigns of personal vilification.”

And how come MassResitance Watch didn't make their list? I'm shocked, shocked I tell you! I guess we're just not a hate group in their eyes, lucky me. Oh, and what's with all this finger pointing in the other direction,
"I'm not the hate group, you are!"
And what with them saying that the SPLC is LIBELING them! Oh God, please let MassResistance sue the SPLC in court for libel, please, please!

If you're not familiar with the SPLC, they are the people that broke up the KKK. Yeah, the people who put the Klan out of business are being called communists by MassResistance, CAN YOU JUST DIE LAUGHING!

And then there's this:
The claims by SPLC are absurd on their face. MassResistance is led by an Orthodox Jew, yet the HUGE majority of “hate crimes” they report in Massachusetts between 2003-2007 are against Jews! Second are crimes based on race, then ethnic group, then religion, then “sexual orientation”.

Hey Mary, we don't get it either, how can a member of a historically oppressed group vilify another minority group? I don't get it either but there it is. Oh, and if you look at the Hate map on the SPLC's website you'll see that MassResistance is one of NINE hate groups in Massachusetts along with White Nationalists, black separatists, neo-Nazis and skin heads. Come to think of it, the one thing they all have in common with MassResistance is their hatred for gay people and Amy doesn't think she belongs.

MassResistance and the Mass Budget

MassResistance is whining again about money being spent to education. They are telling their readers to call the legislature to complain:

This MUST be stopped.

This is extremely important. With that money, they will be able to do unbelievable damage to children.

We need to start calling the House Ways and Means Committee right away.
House Ways and Means Committee: 617-722-2380

Rep. Robert DeLeo is Chairman (follow link)

We need to tell the House Ways and Means Committee - in no uncertain terms - that we want NO money for pushing homosexuality in our schools, to our children.

WE need to call the House Ways and Means Committee and tell them NOT to listen to a nationally recognized hate group like MassResistance. We need to educate the legislators on the Southern Poverty Law Center's hate list and why MassResistance is on it. We cannot let our state be taken over by these hard core haters.

MassResistance's "Successes" #1

I know I’ve been talking about this for awhile, however, I’m finally getting around to writing about MassResistance’s “successes”. It will probably take me a bit because they claim victory on so many things that it takes a long time to list all the reasons why they really weren't victorious. So here goes the first part:

Legislation: Wrote, lobbied, and got passed the Massachusetts Parental Notification Law (Ch. 71, Sec. 32A), despite a hostile legislature and governor. This has become a landmark law that forced public schools notify parents about sexuality and homosexuality being presented to their children. No other group has gotten pro-family legislation passed in Massachusetts since then. (1996)

In some respects the first part is actually true, at least it appears that Brian Camenker wrote the legislation since it really doesn't do anything and he now wants to replace it. However, read the actual law:

Chapter 71: Section 32A. Sex education; policy regarding notice to parents, exception

Section 32A. Every city, town, regional school district or vocational school district implementing or maintaining curriculum which primarily involves human sexual education or human sexuality issues shall adopt a policy ensuring parental/guardian notification. Such policy shall afford parents or guardians the flexibility to exempt their children from any portion of said curriculum through written notification to the school principal. No child so exempted shall be penalized by reason of such exemption.

Said policy shall be in writing, formally adopted by the school committee as a school district policy and distributed by September first, nineteen hundred and ninety-seven, and each year thereafter to each principal in the district. A copy of each school district’s policy must be sent to the department of education after adoption.

To the extent practicable, program instruction materials for said curricula shall be made reasonably accessible to parents, guardians, educators, school administrators, and others for inspection and review.

The department of education shall promulgate regulations for adjudicatory proceedings to resolve any and all disputes arising under this section.

OK, could you find the "homosexuality" in the above paragraphs? Me neither, so where does Brian get off saying that he stopped homosexuality in the schools? Oh, that's right, he just likes writing the word homosexuality and the idiots who actually pay attention to MassResistance aren't really very smart so they facts don't matter to them either.

The legislation does talk about a curriculum which primary involves human sexual education or human sexuality, which mean ALL orientations. What this law DOES DO is prevent children from learning about any sex ed which leads to more teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases. Thanks Brian, great job!

I'm sure MassResistance/Brian Camenker will be writing a lot of bills now that the Southern Poverty Law Center has identified them as a hate group.

SPLC Lists MassResistance as a Hate Group

Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 26, 2008, the Southern Poverty Law Center will host a webcast (but you need to register first):

SPLC President Richard Cohen and Editor of SPLC's Intelligence Report Mark Potok will discuss new findings and answer your questions about the recently released Year in Hate report.

The report outlines an alarming trend - a 48% growth in the number of hate groups operating in the United States since 2000. The count now stands at 888 - a record high, due in large part to anti-immigration fervor in our country.

Mark is one of the harshest critics of the anti-immigration rhetoric of pundits like Lou Dobbs. He and Richard will describe how SPLC stands strong against the hate, racism and intolerance infecting America during the 30-minute audio webcast.

Learn how SPLC not only tracks and exposes the activities of hate groups in our country – but also uses innovative legal strategies to put them out of business.

You can also take a stand against hate by logging onto the SPLC's site and putting yourself on the map. Let's put organizations like MassResistance out of business:
Learn to respond to everyday bigotry and speak out against hate through our Speak Up! and 10 Ways to Fight Hate publications.

Be sure to call your state legislators and let them know that MassResistance is identified as a Hate Group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. They need to know who they are listening to.

You Can't Hide the Truth

Over at MassResisance, Brian Camenker is playing hide the truth. At Wikipedia, the entry for "Brian Camenker" listed several facts about him that he apparently doesn't like since he removed them because he claimed that it was "untrue, libelous, or irrevelent to the topic." See for yourself:

He is also the founder of various other anti-gay organizations in Massachusetts: Parent's Rights Coalition, Article 8 Alliance and the Interfaith Coalition of Massachusetts.

Of course this information was generated from NARTH and various other references.

But there's more:

In June 2006, Brian and other members of MassResistance protested a Macy's store in Boston, MA. They alleged that the mannequins represented homosexuality.

"Basically, here you have two apparently homosexual men touching each other, both of them with big breasts that are unlike any mannequin anyone's ever seen," said
MassResistance President Brian Camenker. "A number of people are getting a little tired of having homosexuality pushed in their faces," Camenker added.

and yet more:

In March 2008, the Southern Poverty Law Center listed MassResistance, the group that Brian Camenker founded and leads, as one of 888 active hate groups operating in the U.S during 2007

there was also a link to a real conservative from TownHall.com who wrote an article about Brian called "Me and Brian Camenker", but Brian deleted the link:

My point is that Brian Camenker has spent the last thirteen years of his life doing things like getting outraged over store mannequins that he found “disgusting.” The man I knew 14 years ago was a good man, a dedicated father and a nice guy. He was normal. His current incarnation is, more than anything else, sad.

So tell me Brian, which parts of the above are untrue, libelous, or irrevelent? Oh, he's also falsifying the Wikipedia entry for MassResistance too. He deleted the fact that the Southern Poverty Law Center names MassResistance a hate group and he deleted the references to this blog.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. The truth must really hurt.

Looks Like They MADE it!

We are so proud of our little haters over in Waltham, they finally made it. They didn't make it last year, and this year we knew the competition was tough, but they did it! Congrats Brian and Amy! And to think that we were there in the beginning! Applause!

Oh, what did they make? Well, our duo and the rest of the MassResistance clan made the Southern Poverty Law Center's 2007 Hate Groups list (you have to click on the state of Massachusetts).

There they are along side their brethren the Klu Klux Klan, Fred Phelps' Westboro Baptist Church and skinhead groups.

We didn't find out about it until we got our "The Year in Hate" Spring 2008 issue in the mail from the Southern Poverty Law Center. Luckily, it's not only in print but on the web too! MassResistance made the list under the anti-gay subheading (there are only 9 nationwide!):
Anti-gay groups are organizations that go beyond mere disagreement with homosexuality by subjecting gays and lesbians to campaigns of personal vilification.

Congratulations Brian and Amy on the huge accomplishment! We knew you'd make it someday and nobody deserves it more! I have to hurry and send out the press releases!

No MassResistance, No One is Interested in Your Testimony

So MassResistance posts another whine about the public meeting process. They're upset because they didn't stick around to testify at the hearing to overturn the wiretapping law which MassResistance wants.

Just a few comments on their posting:

But the committee -- again -- rigged the hearing. They made the 'regular people' wait several hours until most of them had to go home. It was the usual sleazy tactics and condescending attitude that has become common at the Massachusetts State House.

They put regular people in quotes. That's right Brian, you and the rest of MassResistance are far from regular so in this case it's appropriate. If these issues are so important to you, you should be there until they throw you out, kinda like David Parker did in Lexington or until the session closes very late in the evening like the marriage equality supporters did during the constitutional conventions.

S927 – Update the outmoded “wiretap: law to stop selective harassment of citizens taping public events. The current, outmoded Massachusetts wiretap law is so broad that it can be used against ordinary citizens legitimately taping public events. The federal law, which is more sensible, should be used.

This is the bill that Brian and Amy want overturned so they can keep recording people without their knowledge. Move to Oklahoma, I hear even the gay supporters do it there.

MassResistance sure does a lot of complaining about how the public hearings are held, I'm half surprised they don't run for office so they can do what they want but OH, that's right, no one would vote for them!

Creedon allowed dozens of public officials and “important people” (including the Governor!) to testify first, making everyone else wait for hours. This is particularly annoying because the state reps see each other every day. Is their time more valuable than ours?

Hell, YEAH! We're paying the elected officials' salaries, I don't want them to have to sit around waiting for some knucklehead, who life's work is to make gay people suffer in the eyes of the law, just so he can testify that homosexuals weren't among the victims of the Nazi Holocaust.

Our conclusion: We’re going to tell people not to waste their time any more going to these sham public hearings. From now on, we’ll go to each rep and senator directly. If they think they can treat the public this way and get away with it, they’re wrong.
Remember this paragraph. Last week it was "Together We Can" and this week it's "Don't waste your time". They're lucky they even got a public hearing because MassResistance's anti-gay bills are going NO WHERE soon.

What's Your take?

I guess I'm a bit slow because when I usually get an idea for a post (and finally find the time to write it) someone has already made the suggestion in the comment's section. Recently I'm talking about MassResistance's latest post:
Major Project Underway ...
... so we'll be posting less frequently. But don't worry, we're not going away! Bigger and better things in the works. Stay tuned.

So what do you think they are working on now? Are they doing some in depth research on the children's guinea pig book?(I'm not going there!) Maybe it's a study on why so many anti gay activists (themselves) or their children are gay. Could it be the study of some adults fascination with video and tape recording of children, because they have a lot of first hand experience there.

Feel free to add your own guesses in the comments section.

Nazi Persecution of Homosexuals

There is a traveling exhibit at the University of Rhode Island until March 29 which chronicles the Nazis' arrests and persecution of tens of thousands of gay men from 1933 to 1945:

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I.—In Nazi Germany, some gay men were castrated and prosecuted by the Gestapo under draconian laws prohibiting homosexuality. Others were subjected to crude medical experiments designed to "correct" their sexual orientation. Gay men in concentration camps were singled out with distinctive pink triangle badges and assigned backbreaking labor that often killed them.

I don't expect anyone from MassResistance or their small legion of followers will head down to URI to catch this exhibit because they still believe that gay people were not victims of the Nazi's terror, in fact, they blame gay people for the atrocities that were committed on the Jews.

The exhibit was put together by the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum and has been traveling around the country for the past five years.

About 100,000 German men were arrested under a sweeping anti-gay law, and roughly half were convicted and sent to prison, according to the exhibit. Between 5,000 and 15,000 were sent to concentration camps, where many died from
starvation, beatings, exhaustion and murder.

The Nazis regarded gay men as a socially deviant subclass whose sexual preference threatened the elite and masculine Aryan race they sought to establish. A diagram included in the exhibit likens homosexuality to a contagious infection that could be
spread among men by seduction.

Wow, reread that last paragraph and then scan through the past postings on the MassResistance blog, eerily familiar don't you thing?

URI appears to be the closest place to view this exhibit since it is not scheduled to be in Boston anytime soon.

Can You Feel the Threats Tonight?

How many times can Brian and Amy threaten the Commonwealth of Massachusetts with "Beware, this is going to happen to you" or "this is where we're heading" Their latest headline has something about the Dutch with a link to a London site. OK, Brian, the Dutch allow smoking marijuana in bars, we still don't have that yet.

They've done this so many times I've lost count, however, I do have a few references to point out to you (feel free to add your own):

December 11, 2007 Polyamory On the Way

October 4, 2007 Soon coming to the streets of Boston. Torture, flogging, public nudity. (if only!)

August 17, 2007 Read this news from Canada, and ask how long it will be before Massachusetts authorities begin taking children away from their "conservative Christian" or "homophobic" parents.

July 11, 2007 Lawsuit Against Church in NJ: Coming Soon to Mass.

April 3, 2006 Describing the tyranny in Canada concerning any opposition to the extremist homosexual agenda, Rev. Emmanuel made it all too clear that we're traveling down that same road in America, with "hate crimes" legislation, laws and regulations protecting any imaginable "sexual orientation" (never defined in law!), etc.

Sept 10, 2005 Now in Alberta, a pastor who wrote that homosexuality is immoral and a health risk is being accused of hate speech, and dragged before the Human Rights Commission. It's coming our way soon!

We're Lovers Not Fighters

Plus I hate when the Right always makes war references when they are supposed to be SO Christian! Anyway, lots of Good News:

Wa. Gov. Signs Expanded Domestic Partner Law

(Olympia, Washington) Gov. Christine Gregoire has signed legislation expanding the state's domestic partnership law to provide for more than 170 additional rights and responsibilities which married couples already have.

Psychoanalysts' Group Backs Gay Marriage

The American Psychoanalytic Association announced Wednesday that it supports the legalization of same-sex marriage for gay and lesbian couples.

Breakaway Episcopal Bishop Defrocked

Episcopal leaders ousted a breakaway conservative bishop Wednesday in a struggle for control of the Diocese of San Joaquin and its properties.

The Episcopal House of Bishops, meeting in Texas, took the action against Bishop John-David Schofield, who last December led the Fresno diocese to secede from the Episcopal Church.

MELBOURNE RADIO GOES GAY

“I’m Dan Watson, and I’m a homosexual”. This is not a meeting of Gay Anonymous, rather the introduction to The Stick Shift, a two-hour gay-themed radio show on Melbourne’s Nova 100 hosted by said homosexual, Dan Watson.

Facts Never Get in the Way of MassResistance

In typical MassResistance fashion, they skew the story to fit their needs. In their latest headline they seem befuddled that 26% of girls 14 to 19 years old have an STD. And of course they blame it on "Planned Parenthood-style" values:

Gov't study shows 26% of girls 14-19 years old have a sexually transmitted disease.

Stunning report released Tuesday by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is worse than even we thought. This shows the horrific results of Planned Parenthood-style values-free "do-what-feels-good" sex education in schools.
Article in Science Daily

Mainstream media uses report to call for MORE "comprehensive sex education" in schools! Chicago Tribune article.

Historically, STDs and pregnancies have soared among kids as comprehensive sex ed programs proliferated.

It's time to say to our Legislature: STOP the destruction of childrens' lives!

They neglect the fact that under the current administration "sex education" consisted of an explanation that "you shouldn't have sex", nothing about the consequences or, God forbid, if you did engage in sex, how to protect yourself.

Of course, MassResistance has never let the facts get in the way. They talk about history, yet facts have shown just the opposite of what they are claiming. What they don't tell you is that the data was based on an analysis of the 2003-2004 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. Now, who was in charge in the years leading up to 2003 and 2004....yes, the Bush Administration and the Republican Congress.

And MassResistance Now Takes Credit for Daylight Savings

Thanks to the commenters who first pointed out the ridiculousness of MassResistance's latest headlines:

Latest News Tuesday, Mar 11
FIGHTING BACK - Lots of GOOD news:

1. Boycott against Ford called off – car maker agrees to stop funding homosexual agenda Hats off to American Family Association (AFA) for keeping up the pressure. During the 24 months the boycott was in effect, Ford sales dropped an average of 8 percent per month. Ford says it will meet AFA’s conditions!

2. Virginia Cuts All Government Funding to Planned Parenthood
The people finally had enough! The group’s promotion of abortion and pornography to minors played a big role.

3. Canada raises age of consent for sex from 14 to 16, despite pressure from homosexual lobby After several years of battling, the parents in Canada won a major victory over the homosexual movement. Gwen Landolt of the pro-family group REAL women of Canada told LifeSiteNews.com that the bill was” "overwhelmingly supported by Conservative MPs, most of the NDP caucus, as well as the Attorneys General of all provinces, but the Liberal party had resolutely refused to support raising of the age of consent because of political pressure from homosexuals."

First #1: AFA ALWAYS claims victory even when they lose (much like MassResistance). AFA did the same with the Disney boycott that they conducted for nine years. Additionally, Ford's troubles were because of poor business management and not AFA's members not buying cars.

#2: Are we surprised of anything that Virgina does? Virginia is one of the most anti-gay states in the U.S. I'm surprised they didn't end funding years ago, what took them so long? Oh, right, gay couples marrying was more important.

#3: Is anyone even following what's going on in Canada? I don't know many people in the U.S. gay or straight that would have a problem with raising the age of consent from 14 to 16. If you remember, Georgia allows children under the age of 16 to get married if they are pregnant however, once again, gay couples whether they are 18 or 68 can't get married.

Oh Brian, Brian, how pathetic it is that you have to tout "victories" in other countries as your own. I still don't understand the poor pitiful picture of the Parker's with "thousands" of the letters all in the same envelopes on their laps. That is supposed to be a victory?

MassResistance's Closest Ally?

Unfortunately for them she's in Oklahoma City, maybe Brian and Amy can move there to be closer? Anyhow, Oklahoma State Rep. Sally Kern (sallykern@okhouse.gov) (R) says that gay people are more dangerous to the US than terrorists:

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) An Oklahoma lawmaker is warning her constituents that gays are taking over and have become more dangerous to the American way of life than terrorists.

State Rep. Sally Kern (R) made the remarks in a speech to a small gathering but did not know they were being recorded. The tape fell into the hands of The Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund which then posted it on YouTube on Friday. It has now been viewed by more than 250,000 people.

"The homosexual agenda is destroying this nation; it's just a fact," Kern declares.

She also claims that she is not "gay bashing" but just repeating God's word. Hmm... I seem to remember someone else saying something similar instead of talking about gays they were talking about some other ethinic groups.

Shocking! and With Photos! SOON! VERY SOON

OK, Tuesday after the public hearing on several bills in the Mass legislature I went to MassResistance's website to read their take on the hearing. I was teased with "later on tonight we'll have a full report with PHOTOS!"

Then yesterday I read "We'll have a full report with Photos today", later yesterday they posted "Full report tomorrow morning" and now today we read:

To be posted very soon (with photos). It was an unbelievable spectacle. A sham of a "public hearing" - clear collusion between the committee chairmen and homosexual lobby featuring parade of long-winded transgender activists, while pro-family people had to wait over 9 hours to testify!

Come on Brian, there really can't be that many gay activities going around since Tuesday that you can't even get a summary of the events at the hearing (it's always more fun to read these things through a demented mind). Unless Amy, the researcher, is putting it together and she's exhausted after she finished her !!! 130 page!! report on transgender rights.

Oh, and for the books Amy, instead of just copying Porno Pete's story on Angels in America, you really should do your own research, especially you who "claims" to be so cultured. Angels in America, which came out in the 90's, was televised by HBO a few years ago. Oh, yeah, it won a few awards too:

Millennium Approaches

1990 Fund for New American Plays/Kennedy Centre Award
1991 Bay Area Drama Critics Award for Best Play
1991 National Arts Club's Joseph Kesselring Award
1992 London Evening Standard Award for Best New Play
1992 London Drama Critics Circle Award for Best New Play
1993 Drama Desk award for Best Play
1993 New York Drama Critics' Circle award for Best Play
1993 Pulitzer Prize for Drama
1993 Tony award for Best Play

Perestroika
1992 Fund for New American Plays/Kennedy Centre Award
1992 Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Best New Play
1994 Tony Award for Best Play
1994 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play

The play merited inclusion as the very last item in Harold Bloom's controversial list of what he considered to be the most important works of literature, The Western Canon (1994).

Angels in America" was the most watched made-for-cable movie in 2003 and won both the Golden Globe and Emmy for Best Miniseries.

Then again, you probably would have mocked Michelangelo's David as obscene. I'm sure you both are happy now that the only people who read your hate are the people you are writing about. They rest of the world just thinks you're nuts. Well, we think you're nuts too but we're enjoying your meltdown.

Note: They still have only collected $38,102 and it's already March, they started in December.

Hi all! Sorry it's been awhile since my last posting however, I've been busy putting on a show!

Some of you might have seen the articles in Bay Windows and In Newsweekly about Buddy Starr's Fabulous Tour of Provincetown. We did it last week during that awful snowstorm that hit Boston. Despite the terrible weather we still sold out so Club Cafe asked us to do another one. We agreed and for this show (like the previous one) all proceeds will benefit the Point Foundation.

Catholic Church Does Porn Star's Breast Surgery

Ok, so I have no proof that they did a porn star's breast surgery but under their "policy" they would do it before they would do any surgery on a transgender person.

I can’t articulate how draining it is to keep having to refute the lies that Brian and Amy post on their respective websites, but it’s a job I’ve humbly taken on. Their latest rant brings up a lawsuit in California:

In California, a man who wants to be a woman is suing a Catholic hospital for refusing to allow his “breast augmentation” surgery there.
What they don’t tell you is that the Catholic hospital in California DOES perform plastic surgery and DOES do breast augmentations. They just want to discriminately pick and choose whose breasts they make larger. The bigger question is why is a Catholic Hospital doing cosmetic plastic surgery? Why the church isn’t happy with the way God made these people is beyond me:

Seton Medical Center provides medically necessary services to all individuals," Nikels said in a prepared statement. "However, the hospital does not perform surgical procedures contrary to Catholic teaching; for example, abortion, direct euthanasia, transgender surgery or any of its related components." The hospital did not comment directly on the lawsuit.

Gray[Ms. Hastings' surgeon] still performs breast enlargement surgeries at Seton on women who are not transgender.

They also don't tell you that the woman, Charlene Hastings, has already the major gender reassignment surgery i.e., the Catholic hospital won't be turning her from a man to a woman.

MassResistance Fundraising Update

For two days, they changed the date on the website but didn't change any of the content. However, yesterday they changed the date, added somemore hate rants AND updated their fundraising tally. Drum roll please:

$36,302

Wow, that's a whole $4,050 since last week. The way they're raising money, they should have enough money to buy new video camera and still have money left over to have Brian's trenchcoat cleaned.
Note: The picture at the right is from Boston Magazine and was printed with the article "Looking for Mr. Right", how ironic is that! Was it taken during his Sporters days?

Romney Quits!

How long do you think it will take forMassResistance to take credit for his departure? Will they take credit for McCain's rise?

Tonight, Tonight

Mad Dad Parker is going to be on WBZ 1030 AM tonight from 9 to 10 on the NightSide with Dan Rea Program. Let's all tune in and don't forget to maybe even give'em a call!

Now You See It, Now You Don't!

It's been a week since I reported the last update of MassResistance's fundraising prowess. They are now listing that they've raised $32, 252.00 which would be an increase of $293.00 from the following week or roughly around $41.00 a day which would suit them if they budgeted their anti-gay activities like Rachel Ray budgets her "Best Eats in Town".

I should also point out that the Bunker Hill monument graphic is now gone from their website only to be replaced by a number tally:
I wonder if the graphic of a huge erection on their site was turning on their viewers?

Court Upholds Dismissal of Mad Dad Parker's Lawsuit

A big hat tip to KeepRight who informed me about the court's decision (KeepRight's conversation with Brian Camenker is in the comment section of my past post and it's quite hilarious):

Court upholds dismissal of suit over schools' same-sex teaching

In a ruling Thursday, the 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals agreed with a judge who ruled in February 2007 that parents' rights to exercise their religious beliefs are not violated when their children are exposed to contrary ideas in school.

What is MassResistance going to do now? This is what they wrote before:

The judges were very impressive, more so than at any other Parker court appearances.

It appeared that these judges had not only read the briefs carefully but had a better knowledge and understanding of the case law involved and some of the pertinent issues than the lawyers! They had also apparently researched the state core curriculum as it applies to this case.

So how will Brian/MassResistance trash these Judges, who were very impressive, now?

Well, I'm Back!

No, I wasn't in Laramie, Wyoming researching the "The Laramie Project". Since it's winter, my husband and I decided to jet off to the Caribbean, or rather cruise to the hot climate with over 3500 other gay tourists. It was fantastic! This was our second cruise and we had a ball. We met people from all over the world and some even from Massachusetts. Maybe in a future post I'll talk more about it since Atlantis charters the whole ship and the clientele is very different from the "regular" cruise ship passengers (they actually told us that we're more polite and considerate!)

So! I've been gone for a week and see that not much seems to have happened over at MassResistance. They did increase their fundraising tally since the last time I checked from $13,005 to $31,959. I'm wondering what sob story they sent out to their lemmings this time?

I also noticed that they have a list of bills in the State House that they want passed (which I believe have virtually NO chance of even getting voted on!):
  • Remove undefined phrase “sexual orientation” from all Massachusette[sic] statutes (S928)
  • Repealing the exemption of schools from the law against “disseminating matter harmful to minors.” (S925)
  • Force the government to abide by the actual marriage statutes regarding same-sex “marriage”. (S926)
  • Stop selective harrassment[sic] of citizens taping public events. (S927)
That last one made me laugh out loud! Brian wants it removed so he can continue to record teenagers without their knowledge like he did when he got sued for violating student's privacy when he recorded them early in his anti-gay career (after he stopped going to gay bars with friends)

I'll have to take some time to read the rest of their dreck and see what the blog has been up to.

Watching & Waiting

Things are still looking bleak for the dynamic duo over at MassResistance. Their main website, MassResistance!, hasn't been updated in weeks. It also appears they don't have anymore donations since they haven't updated their phallic donation counter in awhile either.

And then there was this observation from KeepRight, a reader of MassResistance Watch:

Out of curiosity as to what they are raising money for, I gave MassResistance a phone call yesterday afternoon. Brian answered the phone and did not even say "MassResistance". He simply said "hello?". I told him I was calling to ask about what they are raising money for because I was interested in making a donation. He sounded EXTREMELY tired, taking deep breaths and sighing while talking to me.

He said "the same stuff", without being specific. I said "you sound very tired, are you OK?" and he responded that it had been a very long and tough day for him. Poor Brian...I almost felt bad for him, it must take quite a toll on a person to devote himself to a lost cause so completely with all his being, and yet still not make any progress. :(

Well, it's tough when even the people supposedly on your side (Conservative Right) think you're a bunch of wackos!

3 Months and Still Nothing

Yes lucky listeners, it's been over three months since MassResistance was last heard on the airways. They still keep teasing us their lies though:

MassResistance radio is moving to a new, more powerful station! Get ready to tune in Saturday mornings 9:00 am to 10:00 am. starting again next week (at
least that's the plan).

More info to come. In the meantime, enjoy our previous shows! (Each week's show is posted here Saturday evening - to listen anytime.)

Oh, maybe they just ran out of money and they just need that $150,000 to get them on the air?

MassResistance Makes the Advocate

Yes! Massachusetts' infamous anti-gay zealots over at MassResistance made the Jan 29, 2008 issue of The Advocate in a column entitled "Antigay and Proud" by Jim David. The article takes a look at the latest hate-based groups in the U.S. and unfortunately one (and possibly two) are located in Massachusetts (if you want to read the article you have to get the magazine since the article is not online yet).

The bulk of the article talks about Scott Lively and his Holocaust revisionist book "The Pink Swastika" and the violence that seems to follow Lively and his "Watchmen on the Walls".

The write then moves across the country and stops in Milwaukee where a "Pastor" Matt Trewhella claims that the California wildfires were because of the state's new educational law which is not discriminatory to gay people.

Finally, he ends the article with a paragraph about Massachusetts' most radical and crazy bigots MassResistance (although he leaves out that Scott Lively has now moved to Massachusetts so we two nuts for the price of one):
And in Massachusetts (yes, even there), a group called MassResistance tried to get Acton-Boxborough Regional High School to cancel its production of The Laramie Project. Ironically, the daughter of one of the group's leaders was in the play and came out as a lesbian. Her mother then withdrew her from the show and the school. The group has a conniption and posted the following on this website "Of course, Claudia is no more a lesbian than the man in the moon. She's always has crushes on boys, and her bedroom has always been (and still is) plastered with pictures of boys." A picture of a wall covered with teen idol boys who look like girls appears with the caption "Does this look like a lesbians' room to you?" Uh, yeah, kinda. Pray for Claudia.

I wonder if Brian is feeling the heat as told by KeepRight in the comment section of my post titled "Tracking MassResistance's Fundraising"?

Tap Your Troubles Away

Senator Larry Craig is certainly keeping this story alive and tapping so to speak. His lawyers are asking an appeals court to throw out the lower courts ruling. It seems that Larry Craig, who was Mitt Romney's liaison in the Senate before the police caught Larry asking for sex in the bathroom, wants the court to believe him now and not when he pleaded guilty the first time. He's like Mitt in that the keeps changing what he is saying depending on the audience and spins the new material:

The Idaho Republican argues that a state law related to his misdemeanor conviction is unconstitutional and that it's "manifestly unjust" not to allow him to be given another chance to prove his innocence.

A state judge refused on October 4 to allow the senator to withdraw his earlier plea. Judge Charles Porter ruled the plea "was accurate, voluntary and intelligent, and ... supported by the evidence."

Craig had earlier promised to resign if the judge ruled against his motion, but he changed his mind and vowed to stay in office until his term expires in early 2009. He is not seeking re-election this year.

Wow, I forgot about the resigning part, he's more like Mitt than I first thought (Mitt said he wouldn't put any of his personal fortune into his quest for the Presidential nomination and likened it to a nightmare).

Tracking MassResistance's Fundraising

So we can keep track of MassResistance's fundraising goals, as of today, Jan 9th, they claimed to have raised $13,000. I believe I noticed their first fundraising activity around December 26th or so.

Law Student Who Flunked the Mass Bar & Sued Apologizes

Since I posted on the original story I will post the update which was exclusive to Bay Windows this past weekend. Quick synopsis: the law student who flunked the Massachusetts Bar Exam and sued the State because of a question including a same sex couple has apologized and is embarrassed for what he did:

But in his letter, [Stephen] Dunne said his suit was "misguided" and that he was "lashing out as a result of failing the bar exam." "I am deeply sorry for the hurt that I have caused the gay community," Dunne wrote. As far as we can tell after interviewing Dunne on Dec. 24, he’s not headed off to jail, rehab or Oprah - in fact, he said he’s studying to take the bar exam again - so we give him props for his public mea culpa. The one thing he declined to do was name the law school he attended, stating he didn’t want to draw attention to his Alma mater (although he did say it’s in Boston). We have a feeling that’s probably okay with the school.

Laura Kritsy also has an interview with Stephen Dunne here. I guess MassResistance has no comment.

Paying Brian to Pay Brian

MassResistance is in fundraising mode once again although they are a bit behind date wise since the past two years fundraising was started in early December. They set a higher goal this year too (the past two years they were only trying to raise $50,000 and $30,000. but they had an "anonymous" matching donor(s) (or so they claimed). Did that cash dry up?

Well, now they're trying to raise $150,000. And to what end? They have no allies in the Massachusetts State House nor do they have legislation that has the slightest chance of being voted on so what are they going to do with $150,000?

As I started researching this post, I noticed on the Massachusetts Secretary of State's website that Brian Camenker is not only the President of all the groups he's created, but he's also the treasurer AND as of Jan 1, 2008 he is also the clerk/secretary of the Parents' Rights Coalition and the Parents' Education Foundation (he replaced Amy who stepped down on Dec. 31st.)

The only other people listed as being officers of the organizations is Philip Lawler for the Parents' Education Foundation and a Sally J. Naumann who is listed as a director for both organizations. If that last name sounds familiar it's probably because Ms. Naumann testified at the State House last year saying that the Holocaust was a big gay conspiracy.

The Second Half of 2007

OK, here's the latter half of the year. It contains one of the truly saddest incidents of the year:
  • June 30th marked the 6th week that they didn't have their paid radio show on the air anywhere.

  • MassResistance praised a woman who allegedly resorted to violence during the Constitutional Convention in June. They had no problem with her physically assaulting a man at the State house.

  • In July, Ms. MassResistance regurgitated the false story from Fox News about lesbian gangs terrorizing neighborhoods even though there were no facts to back up the story. She also never included a retraction when Fox News aired that their story was wrong.

  • MassResistance touted the foolish law student who was suing the Commonwealth over a question about a same sex couple on the bar exam. The flunky student ended up withdrawing his lawsuit.

  • Twenty-two "prominent conservatives" write a cranky letter about Romney and nobody cared.

  • July 14th, 8 Weeks without MassResistance Radio.

  • Anti-gay activists crash religious services in Ohio and MassResistance posts nothing.

  • September 1st, after months off the air, MassResistance's paid show is back on the air on some obscure radio station in Cambridge Mass. The station airs the show with a disclaimer and no advertising sponsors.

  • On September 11th, I posted about Amy researching the Laramie Project in Wyoming. Little did we know at the time, the depths they would take to humiliate a young woman. They started with trying to censor the play.

  • The first week in October turned out to be a busy week for the anti-gay forces. It contained an anti-gay "forum" in Acton on the Laramie Project and an anti-gay "fund raising" gala in Boxborough, MA. We hear about the forum where Brian blames the "homosexual activists" for "Ex-Gay" Stephen Bennett's no show and hear nothing but silence about their fund raising gala. Not ever a peep at how much money their raised.

  • We find out that Amy Contrada, AKA Ms. MassResistance, has a daughter in the Laramie Project in Acton. MassResistance also posts personal information about the young woman on their website without regard to the woman's feelings.

  • Signs that the radio show out of Cambridge was starting to sink occurred when after only a few weeks they started to repeat shows.

  • J. Edward Pawlick, the darling of the anti-gay movement in Massachusetts passed away. Pawlick spent millions trying to keep LGBT from getting married. He will be noted for his loony attacks on the Boston Globe and Massachusetts Supreme Chief Justice Margaret Marshall. Like a bizarro Don Quixote who only sees gay everywhere and in everyone he sees. He spent a lot of money on planes carrying banners.

  • On October 20th MassResistance is no longer on the air. We don't know if they ran out of money or if the radio station refused to air their bigoted anymore. All we know is that MassResistance posts "We're taking a break until next week -- as MassResistance Radio moves to a new, more powerful station.". They tease us with a come back but today's January 3rd and they haven't been back on the radio yet.

  • MassResistance steps up their opposition to the Laramie Project in Acton with letters and comments by Brian and Amy posted in the local Acton newspaper.

  • Red Sox win the World Series and it's all because of same sex marriages in Massachusetts!

  • November 2008, Ms. MassResistance posts more of that "truth" she seems to think is true.

  • The Laramie Project opens in Acton and Brian and Amy attack the citizens of the area who wrote in to oppose MassResistance's negative viewpoints on the play and people in general.

  • It what turns out to be one of the sadder moments of the year, after the opening weekend, Amy yanks her daughter out of the school play and the school and then posts even more intimate things about her on the MassResistance websites.

  • In December I posted about how MassResistance is linked to the violent anti-gay groups on the west coast.

  • And finally, in my last post of the year, I pointed to a story at claims that Brian Camenker, President of MassResistance, Head of Article 8 Alliance, President of Parent's Rights Coalition, etc... (don't worry, it's all the same group made up of the same couple of people) was a former State Legislator, LOL. No proof of this fact or that in all the years that Brian has been going after the gay community this has never come up.

And as 2008 starts we find that Brian and Amy, who really are the only people that make up MassResistance, are over their collective heads in denial. They're still trying to raise money to pay for their anti-gay "volunteering". I'm sure this year will find them still denying that gay couple are getting legally married, even though lots do.

If a rabid anti-gay activist group falls in Massachusetts doesn't anyone hear it? Listen closely, you'll hear it here.

Jan to June 2007 in Review

Well, it's the end of the year and I thought I'd look through the threats and whines that MassResistance has been posting this past year and let you all reflect on their hatred:

  • While both Brian and Amy were against the MFI Amendment to the Massachusetts Constitution, they were overjoyed that it was a setback for the LGBT community when the Mass legislature narrowly approved it on the first vote of the Constitutional Convention.

  • Brian Camenker starts his attacks on Presidential Candidate Willard Romney with load of references from newspapers Brian himself abhors. Romney counters with a few known facts that irks Brian.

  • A week after the backslapping, Amy and Brian realize that they have no friendly contacts in the Massachusetts Statehouse now that anti-gay Reps Marie Parente and Emile Goguen are gone yet somehow they still think that the bills they submitted will get passed.

  • Conservatives come out against MassResistance and their craziness.

  • A Federal judge dismisses the lawsuit that MassResistance's favorite Mad Dad, David Parker, brings against the Lexington school system. MassResistance goes nutty (I guess I could say they are just acting as usual).

  • MassResistance gets upset because students visiting the Statehouse hold mock hearing and fake bills. They wonder who is putting these ideas in the kids heads when they have been writing about it years earlier.

  • MassResistance, with camera in tow, starts photographing the new Massachusetts Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth yet Amy runs from the room when her picture is snapped.

  • Bay Windows exposes the financial dealings of MassResistance and we find out that most of the money goes to Brian and Amy.

  • MassResistance starts a "Day of Defiance" and tries to make it appear that it is a high school grassroots organization. It turns out to be "Day of the Dud" More lies and deception.

  • MassResistance concocts some story about Governor Patrick not attending the Youth Pride March because of the MassResistance supports. We half expected them to credit their group for having the sun rise in the morning.

  • Amy photographs and harasses youth at the Youth Pride march in Boston. Asks about "cum vomit" and equates gay people to pedophiles.

  • WTTT drops Brian and Amy from their weekend radio lineup. No one knows why since MassResistance actually had to pay WTTT to put their drivel on the air although Brian thinks it's because of Romney.

  • At a hearing at the Statehouse, Brian Camenker denies that gays and lesbians were killed during the Holocaust.

  • A Holocaust survivor was very upset that Brian was hijacking, was misappropriating his good name to get behind something he does not agree with.

  • Massachusetts legislators who Brian claimed supported his bills drop like flies. Know Thy Neighbor did all the reporting about legislators who's named were attached and never even signed on.

  • June 14, 2007, the Massachusetts Legislature DEFEATS the MFI amendment. MassResistance points fingers at Vote On Marriage for not going far enough with the amendment.

  • MassResistance blames it's followers for the defeat of the Marriage Amendment. "If you allow this, then YOU deserve whatever happens."

Brian Camenker: State Legislator!?!

Maybe from the State of Lunacy!

As I was scanning the anti-gay stories around the country when I came upon this item about Willard Romney and same sex marriage in Massachusetts. The story itself wasn't surprising except for this one section:

But former state legislator Brian Camenker claims that Romney's moves during the period leading up to the May 17 implementation of the court's order actually helped grease the skids for gay marriage in the Bay State.

The November 2003 Massachusetts high court ruling said that the rights and privileges of marriage had to be applied to everyone -- including same-sex couples -- under the state constitution. It gave the Massachusetts Legislature 180 days to act on a homosexual marriage law.

By April 2004, lawmakers had not acted. But Romney had. Camenker said not only had the governor ordered JPs to perform gay marriages, but he also issued new marriage certificates that replaced the titles "husband" and "wife" with "Party A" and "Party B."

"The legislature never acted. He didn't have to do anything," said Camenker, who is currently president of MassResistance, a suburban Boston-based anti-gay marriage group. "Romney was a major force in creating same-sex marriage."

Now anyone reading this outside of Massachusetts would think that Brian Camenker was a legislator in Massachusetts during Romney's reign. It appears that MassResistance can't get anyone to read anything they write so they are resorting to lying to embellish their stories. If anyone has any proof that Brian Camenker was in fact a State Legislator in ANY state in the United States, please email it to me. I've looked high and low and couldn't find a thing (you would think that the Parent's Right Coalition/Article 8 Alliance/MassResistance would have certainly used that tidbit for some kind of legitimacy) if it was true.

So who is fabricating his credentials CNS or MassResistance?

Violent Anti-Gay Movements and Their Connection to MassResistance

I first learned about this issue from my husband who pointed out the cover story on the "Intelligence Report" from the Southern Poverty Law Center. It was about a violent anti-gay movement in Latvia that has spilled over in the United States and it is emerging in evangelical churches serving Slavic immigrants.

A couple of things caught my eye. First Scott Lively (if that name sounds familiar it's because he is the person who wrote the "Pink Swastika" which Massresistance is always alluding to and coincidentally spoke at their annual fundraising banquet.) Secondly, there were these paragraphs which stood out:

Nevertheless, The Pink Swastika has become Lively's passport to fame among anti-gay church leaders and their followers in Eastern Europe, as well as Russian-speaking anti-gay activists in America. Lively frequently speaks about the book and his broader anti-gay agenda in churches, police academies and television news studios throughout the former Soviet Union.

Lively credits the popularity of Russian-language translations of The Pink Swastika to the support of Pastor Alexey Ledyaev, the head of the New Generation Church, an evangelical Christian megachurch based in Riga, the capital city of Latvia. New Generation has more than 200 satellite churches spread throughout Eastern Europe, Argentina, Israel and the United States.

"One of my supporters gave him [Ledyaev] a copy of The Pink Swastika. He was very impressed by it," Lively said in a December 2006 radio show on WTTT-AM, based in Boston. "The European press was bashing them [Ledyaev and his church] for being Nazis. He was finally thrilled that he had something to counter the media with." Ledyaev did not respond to E-mails seeking comment.

Now, take a guess as to who's show he was on in December of 2006...if you guessed MASSRESISTANCE, you are probably right since Scott Lively was on MassResistance's radio show in December! I would also like to point out that Scott Lively is now moving (maybe he's already there) to Springfield Massachusetts.

What's really distressing is the amount of violence that is occurring because of these people and Scott Lively and MassResistance refuse to acknowledge that it is happening because of them. Brian considers Scott Lively his "good friend", are we surprised? Ms. Massresistance has even posted a number of rants citing him.

I really recommend you read the Southern Poverty Law Center's article which exposes what is really going on out there and appears to be coming to this state soon (It appears that it is already here and Scott is just rejoining them in Sprinfield because a man, Vadim Privedenyuk, runs an anti-gay church in Springfield, Mass.)

Update: Apparently they were here during the last Con Con as evidenced here from a picture from MassResistance:

Update 2: Massresistance just posted another picture on their blog from Springfield Mass and guess what, there are Russian protesters in those pictures too. I wonder if that anti-gay church was involved in that nasty billboard that was put up not too long ago? Well, MassResistance has no new audience in Massachusetts so I guess they have to import them from elsewhere.

Anti-Gay Leader Fakes His Own Attack

Hmm...
(Mount Laurel, New Jersey) A Princeton University student who argued that his conservative views were not accepted on the campus confessed to fabricating an assault and sending threatening e-mail messages to himself and some friends who shared his views, authorities say.

And of course when he first claimed "he was attacked" the campus conservative group claimed bias like they always do:

Another student wrote in the campus newspaper Friday that the threats Nava received did not get the same forceful response as anti-gay graffiti that appeared this semester outside the dorm rooms of some gay students.

Brandon McGinley called it a double standard, which made it seem OK to "use intimidation tactics to silence the voices of morally conservative students."

But the threats, like the attack, are apparently a hoax.

All this from a person who wants to bring "moral" views to light. Read Fox News story about the first "attack".

MassResistance: Still Living In the Past

Things are getting pretty desperate over at Waltham's Hatequarters because MassResistance/Article 8 is really dredging the bottom of the bag.

First they put up a story about Sandy Rios challenging Mitt Romney. Now, I'm far from a Mitt Romney fan, but Sandy Rios! Please! This woman used to be the president of the Concerned Women of America, you know the organization run by men. Apparently she wasn't too concerned about women in America because she either quit or got booted. Although MassResistance/Article 8 has a special place in their heart for her because she came to Boston and tag teamed with "pro family" Alan Keyes at their sparsely attended "forum" the weekend Marriage Equality became legal in Massachusetts.

One of the biggest jokes about "Pro-Family" Sandy Rios is that she is a D-I-V-O-R-C-E-D concerned woman. (What happened to the covenant marriage?)

All these religious wackos are always talking about the sanctity of marriage and about what the Bible says about homosexuality. Well, Mrs. Sandy Rios, Jesus said nothing about gay people in the Bible yet he preached endlessly about the evils of adultery and breaking the marriage vow. Guess you didn't read that part of the Bible huh. Luckily, from one of her TV appearances, Fox News had their banner up blocking the rest of her cleavage from corrupting the minds of youth watching TV.

Then on Tuesday they dragged out their "Polyamory On the Way" argument. Of course they are repeating themselves from a Feb posting which was a repeat of an earlier postings. OK people, same sex couples started legally marrying 3 years ago, where's all the gay polygamous marriage advocates in Massachusetts and why hasn't MassResistance or MFI started a petition to ban them? Enough with the threats!

Why aren't you talking about the successful banquet that you held months ago? What about all those famous people supporting your cause? How's that trashing of Mitt Romney going? If you support "Parental Rights" then you support the rights of same sex parents or do you not support ALL parental rights? Oh, BTW, Marriage is still legal in Massachusetts for same sex couples, just wanted to remind you because you're blog posts are wrong.

Can You Judge A Homosexual By His Cover?

I was doing my shopping online (it's the only way to beat the crowds) and found myself on a site that at first I thought was Amazon.com:
But I was horrified to find out that I was actually on MassResistance/Article 8's website. The picture of those books had me fooled for a second. Of course I had to read the little blurb that went along with it:

Queering Elementary Education...

A mother was in a school guidance councilor's office in Acton (Now who could that be?) and snapped this photo. A major propaganda manual with the most insidious techniques for "queering" children. This is what the Parkers are battling against.

After I picked myself off floor from laughing so hard I looked at the books again, here's the list:
  • Webster's New Pocket Dictionary
  • Educating and Nurturing the Bipolar by Janice Papolon
  • Schoolgirls by Peggy Orenstein
  • Queering Elementary Education
  • Odd Girl Out
  • Odd Girl Speaks Out
  • Queen Bees & Wannabe's
  • Reviving Ophelia

Of course, I have never heard of ANY of these books (so much for me being the HUGE homosexual activist) however it did get to me asking a number of questions:

  • Would a guidance councilor have allowed a parent to just pull out their camera and photograph their desk?
  • Is this picture actually even real?
  • Do I need a new dictionary?

Be that as it may, this picture looks like a setup. I'm guessing that a person, not a guidance counselor, owns these books and has them because of an issue they think they have with their child. And, if the picture is real, well, I'm glad that the public school administration is using relevant texts to handle some situations and they're not relying verbatim on the Bible.

One more note, if the picture is real, what kind of parent would bring a camera to school for any other reason other than a school play?
